Discussion Question
Describe the nursing education issue. What evidence-based practice educational intervention (teaching methodology) do you propose? How will this educational intervention help the nursing education issue? Provide your PICOT question using the standard PICOT format. You may use the attached PICOT worksheet as a guide; however, if you use this document, please copy and paste the document into the discussion.
For example, let’ say that you are in a pharmacology didactic course for your practicum site and your mentor states that students are exhibiting very low test scores. The class is currently being taught by the use of PowerPoint and lecture. You and your mentor decide to implement a flipped classroom to see if the students understand the concepts better and improve test scores. Your PICOT question could look like this:
In first year nursing students enrolled in the pharmacology course, will a flipped classroom as compared to PowerPoint and lecture improve test scores in eight (8) weeks?

Discuss the impact that health care quality improvement initiatives (one example are JCAHO Accountability Measures) have on delivery of health care in New York State.
Use your textbook, JCAHO and NYS Department of Health websites, and other independent research to support your observations and conclusions.
Must be specific. Provide examples, when available.
This is an individual support plan for a pupil who finds it difficult to regulate his emotions.
Individual Support Plan
NAME Year 4 ASD
WHY Child X NEEDS A SUPPORT PLAN
• Child X finds play and lunchtimes difficult – he has difficulty interacting with peers appropriately and can be unkind sometimes hitting his peers
• Child X has difficulty in accepting support from an adult to help with situations he is finding tricky
• Child X may slap and punch staff when they are attempting to support him
• Child X finds emotional regulation difficult and has upturned furniture and pulled things from the cupboard in the ‘quiet room’
Using this information:
• What do you think we want to achieve for Child X?
• What specific interventions or strategies might you use to support child X at the moment?
Select a movie, short story, or tv episode, through which you can explore the topic.
For example, Monsters, Inc could explore Max Weber’s characterization of life within a bureaucratic organization as a “gilded cage.” You could also use a specific scenario or even the underlying theme of the entire movie to examine Marx’s claim that divorcing the worker from owning the means of production causes alienation. Either would constitute an excellent start!
But you must range beyond simple definition. Use the context to evaluate and offer an informed analysis of the concept. Integrate external scholarship into your research. For example, what does the context suggest about the tension between symbolic interactionism, functionalism, and conflict theory? Should sociology stress structures and macro theory or is the science optimal when focusing on individuals and micro events? Ought sociology be prescriptive and seek to drive positive change or must a science be the pursuit of knowledge for the sake of knowledge, i.e. is the field tainted somehow through application?
