Based on your findings, how would you recommend adapting HR practices in the other country compared to the US?

Directions: After reading the materials and viewing the media (see attached/below), examine the dimensions of culture presented in Hofstede’s framework. What strategies would you recommend in dealing with a different culture that is polar on each of the dimensions? For example, what advice would you give to someone from a culture that stresses individualism when dealing with someone from a collectivist culture? How has the knowledge and skills developed throughout your Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice contributed to the completion of the project your group developed in this course?

Task Description

Assessment 4:   Self-Reflection and Peer Evaluation

(Week 13)

Assessment 4 is an individual task; each individual member of the team will submit their self-reflection and peer evaluation separately.

You will reflect on your own experience in the group. You will consider and respond to these five questions with your reflective essay:

How has the knowledge and skills developed throughout your Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice contributed to the completion of the project your group developed in this course?

In this section, you will need to research the knowledge and skills one is expected to have developed throughout a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice degree and use that to connect its relevance to the project we completed. In our project, we were asked to look into Indigenous (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) family violence and develop a programme that will help with the problem. In this section, you will need to identify knowledge and skills in the field of criminology and connect their relevance to this project in the form of a reflection. Be sure to have a reasonable ab=mount of references as it is still academic work.

What industry-relevant skills have you learned while undertaking this project? Be specific.

For this section, I will upload the course profile including the graduate attribute expected to have gained at the completion of this course. I will also upload our weekly topic content that was covered, and you can research it further.

How well have you fulfilled your responsibilities as a team member? Consider how you have fulfilled your obligations under the team contract, including attending scheduled team meetings and meeting agreed deadlines.

I will upload the contract. I was the lead researcher so I also initial contact in terms of meeting and making sure everyone will be attending, once the meeting commences anyone that has committed to attending and has not yet attended, I will contact them to see if they are coming or find out the holdup. I always submit my work by the deadline and so did my teammates

What would you change about your own contribution if you were to retake this class?

Maybe I will talk less especially during our team meetings. Sometimes I use to feel like I talk too much and before others could say things I would have probably to say what they were thinking. I cannot think of something for this section but you can make something positive up that is relevant to a team project and group work.

What was your experience working in a team? What resources were most helpful? What resources could have made the experience better?

My experience working with the team was a good one and every team member made considerable effort in showing up for meetings and following up on commitments. Everyone had what they brought to the table that was unique in its own way. Human resources were the most helpful resource we had I will say unless and try to connect the usefulness of Human resources in relation to group projects. In terms of experience working as a group, we were able to work effectively enough to maintain our professional relations, the group we created and decided to keep in contact with for the purpose of networking. In terms of useful resources, we can reference the teaching team that was always open to reading our work and giving us feedback on what needed to be improved to get a better outcome or meet requirements. I am not really sure when it comes to what resources could have made the experience better, I am not sure as I do not have anything in mind, but you can look at everything I have provided, and then come up with something positive that would have helped or better the experience.

There is no word limit for the essay, but we encourage students to write less than 1500 words (or 300 words per prompt). Again, there is no limit, so if you want to write more or less, that is perfectly fine. The teaching team will be reading each to ensure that the question is fully answered.

You should attach evidence (e.g. screenshots of emails, communication, etc) of your contributions.

You will need to write this in the form of a reflective essay but make sure you have addressed every single point that is listed in the form of a question. Keep in mind we will be assessed based on how we can effectively reflect on these questions. You could link some of the skills in the self-reflection essays to connect it’s relevant to this group project.

Would you make the same choice now? What specific evidence/learnings in the course can you point to that affirm your original selection?

Description

Chapter one of the textbook discussed three broad answers to the question of what explains political behavior: individual motivation, culture and ideology, and underlying structures. In our initial discussion in week one, you were asked to describe which of these three was most intuitively appealing to you. I would like you to revisit your choice. Would you make the same choice now? What specific evidence/learnings in the course can you point to that affirm your original selection? If you would NOT make the same choice any longer, what specific learnings from the course changed your mind?

critically analyse policy and strategic development, leadership and collaborative working for implementing and achieving health improvement.

Critically discuss the advantages and limitations of the Planning model you selected in comparison to other models, using peer-reviewed literature.

Critically discuss the intervention you proposed, using peer-reviewed literature.

Critically discuss the advantages and limitations of the Health Promotion and Behaviour Promotion model(s) you selected in comparison to other models, using peer-reviewed literature.

Explain the ethical considerations, to ensure no intragenic (accidental harm) effects or worsening of existing disparities.

Conclusion (150 words)

Briefly reflect upon the choices made and acquired learning.

How this assignment contributes to your learning on your programme

The programme specification for your programme of study outlines the learning that you are expected to have gained during the course of your studies. Each module contributes certain skills to that learning.  This table shows you the types of evidence that the marker will be looking for to assess whether you have developed relevant skills during this module.

Attributes Assessed from the Programme Specification Evidence in the CMNR7007 assignment
Academic literacy

  1. Demonstrate understanding and critical analysis of epidemiological surveillance, assessment of global population health and wellbeing, and public health intelligence systems.
  2. Demonstrate understanding and critical analysis of evidence and quality frameworks for assessing and improving the effectiveness of preventive health and healthcare interventions, programmes and services.
  3. Demonstrate understanding and critical analysis of policy and strategic development, leadership and collaborative working for implementing and achieving health improvement.

1.   The background, planning model, intervention, and critique are evidence-based.

2.  Correct choice and application of peer-reviewed evidence.

3.   Correct application of the planning model.

4.   Critical analysis of research evidence in the context of health promotion.

5.  The presentation and product are high-quality academic standard.

Critically discuss the needs assessment of your choice for your target group and setting.

Define the health topic, using a reference. Describe the epidemiology and current prevalence in your target group and target setting (place, area, country) using reliable surveillance and / or peer-reviewed data. Explain its evidence-based determinants for your target group (consider doing this within the Rainbow mode or other social determinants of health model).

A figure might be useful here, mapping the determinants of your health topic for your group in their setting, mapped to a recognised model.

Explain the evidence-based harms of the problem on your target group, to justify why an intervention is needed.

Explain what health promotion is (aims, perspectives, strategies), and why it is a good fit to your topic. Identify the most relevant WHO Charter for your topic.

A figure might be useful here, showing the action areas of the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion

Critically discuss the needs assessment of your choice for your target group and setting. Ensure you use peer-reviewed evidence and / or surveillance data to support this.

Planning model (700 words)

Explain what planning models are and why they are suitable to your topic.

Identify, justify, and explain the planning model you will use

A figure may be useful here, to illustrate the phase-by-phase / step-by-step process from the target problem to the expected outcomes. e.g. The Precede-Proceed model applied to your intervention, to show the process, the impact, and outcome evaluations

Explain what would happen within each phase of the planning model. How will the needs assessment be done (what type of data will you collect, and how e.g which valid and reliable measures or psychometrics are suitable), what you expect to find based on the relevant peer-reviewed literature and surveillance data,  and how the identified factors in the health problem would be prioritised.  Include health behaviour / promotion models, as appropriate, to explain the target problem and mechanisms of change in theory. Specify the required resources, and any disparity-based barriers to implementation.

Measure the effects of the suggested improvement during this phase and compare with baseline (initial current state) data to determine if the solution improved the process.

During the Improve Phase of the DMAIC process, you improve the process by eliminating defects. In previous weeks, you have selected the appropriate solution to the problem, implemented the solution, and will now consider the effects of the solution.

During this phase, you consider how to avoid failure of the product or process through Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA). The FMEA is a risk assessment tool with a goal of “mistake proofing” the process. Through the structured approach of an FMEA, improvement teams identify possible ways in which a product or process can fail, examine the subsequent effects, analyze the severity of those potential failures, and consider the likelihood of occurrence. FMEA can also be used to rank and prioritize the possible causes of failures as well as develop and implement preventative actions (isixsigma, 2015).

To prepare:

  • Review Learning Resources
  • Consider effects of the suggested improvement during this phase and compare with the baseline (initial current state) data to determine if the solution improved the process

Submit by Day 7

Submit the Improvement Phase of your project. This includes the following:

  • Measure the effects of the suggested improvement during this phase and compare with baseline (initial current state) data to determine if the solution improved the process. Use the same key process outcome variables for comparison that you measured in the Measure Phaseof the project. When comparing the two data sets, use means, standard deviations, capability, run charts, non conformance to customer requirements, or other appropriate statistical measures of process performance. Submit your results.
  • Failure Mode & Effects Analysis
Determine how much different stakeholders value their relationships and discuss approaches

During the process of mining, refining, storage, transportation and use in the petrochemical industry, crude oil and various petroleum products will cause pollution to the environment. At present, it is mainly the pollution of oil to the ocean, which has become a serious problem worldwide. Therefore, whether the business has made any contribution to society or policies to protect the environment while making huge profits is now a public concern about their social responsibility performance. This research would like to explore this question.

CSR is not just being responsible to shareholders and companies, but also benefits other stakeholders. Today, investors are increasingly concerned about the impact of the companies they invest in on protecting the environment. Socially conscious consumers and other stakeholders are starting to pay more attention to CSR of a company and its impact on the environment. Some potential investors will consider the CSR policy of a company after reading this research, so that they can preferably understand the correlation between CSR and CFP. Company management can also acknowledge the influence of CSR on different levels of CFP and make improvements.

Research aims

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the Petroleum industry’s relationship between corporate social responsibility performance and corporate financial performance from multiple perspectives, to explore the impact of CSR on CFP, to help investors make the right choice, and finally to consider how to assist management in improving corporate decision-making.

Research Objectives

(a) Investigate the conception and theories of CSR and CFP

  • Provides an overview of CSR and CFP theory
  • Identify CSR and CFP relationships and how they affect stakeholders
  • Identify issues that the company and stakeholders may encounter and how they may affect business strategy
  • Discuss previous research on the impact of stakeholders on the business
  • Obtain secondary data through online databases such as ABI/Inform (Proquest)

(c) Analyze and discuss results obtained from second-hand DATA to:

  • Determine the extent of CSR’s impact on CFP
  • Determining where CSR is considered most impactful to CFP
  • Determine how much different stakeholders value their relationships and discuss approaches

  • Results-Based Suggestions
  • Suggestions and conclusions are made to investors and management based on the above analysis.
