Earrings unlimited – acct 2202 master budgeting project

Earrings Unlimited  – ACCT 2202 MASTER BUDGETING PROJECT

You have just been hired as a new management trainee by Earrings Unlimited, a distributor of earrings to various retail outlets located in shopping malls across the country. In the past, the company has done very little in the way of budgeting and at certain times of the year has experienced a shortage of cash.

Since you are well trained in budgeting, you have decided to prepare comprehensive budgets for the upcoming second quarter in order to show management the benefits that can be gained from an integrated budgeting program. To this end, you have worked with accounting and other areas to gather the information assembled below.

The company sells many styles of earrings, but all are sold for the same price—$10 per pair. Actual sales of earrings for the last three months and budgeted sales for the next six months follow (in pairs of earrings):

Actual and Budgeted Sales in Units

The concentration of sales before and during May is due to Mother’s Day. Sufficient inventory should be on hand at the end of each month to supply 40% of the earrings sold in the following month. Suppliers are paid $4 for a pair of earrings. One-half of a month’s purchases is paid for in the month of purchase; the other half is paid for in the following month. All sales are on credit, with no discount, and payable within 15 days. The company has found, however, that only 20% of a month’s sales are collected in the month of sale. An additional 70% is collected in the following month, and the remaining 10% is collected in the second month following sale. Bad debts have been negligible. Monthly operating expenses for the company are given below:

Monthly Operating Expenses
Variable
4%                   Sales Commission as % of Sales
 Fixed
$200,000         Advertising
$18,000           Rent
$106,000         Salaries
$7,000                         Utilities
$3,000                         Insurance
$14,000           Depreciation

Insurance is paid on an annual basis, in November of each year. The company plans to purchase $16,000 in new equipment during May and $40,000 in new equipment during June; both purchases will be for cash. The company declares dividends of $15,000 each quarter, payable in the first month of the following quarter. A listing of the company’s ledger accounts as of March 31 is given below:

Account Balances as of March 31
 Assets
$74,000                       Cash
            $346,000         Accounts Receivable
            $104,000         Inventory
            $21,000                       Prepaid Insurance
            $950,000         Property and Equipment
            $1,495,000      Total Assets

Liabilities and Stockholders’ Equity
$100,000         Accounts Payable
            $15,000                       Dividends Payable
            $800,000         Common Stock
            $580,000         Retained Earnings
$1,495,000      Total Liabilities and Stockholders’ Equity

The company maintains a minimum cash balance of $50,000. All borrowing is done at the beginning of a month; any repayments are made at the end of a month. The company has an agreement with a bank that allows the company to borrow in increments of $1,000 at the beginning of each month. The interest rate on these loans is 1% per month and for simplicity we will assume that interest is not compounded. At the end of the quarter, the company would pay the bank all of the accumulated interest on the loan and as much of the loan as possible (in increments of $1,000), while still retaining at least $50,000 in cash.

Required:
Using the Excel Spreadsheet supplied, prepare a master budget for the three-month period ending June 30. Include the following detailed budgets:

1.
a. A sales budget, by month and in total.
b. A schedule of expected cash collections from sales, by month and in total.
c. A merchandise purchases budget in units and in dollars. Show the budget by month and in total.
d. A schedule of expected cash disbursements for merchandise purchases, by month and in total.

2. A cash budget. Show the budget by month and in total. Determine any borrowing that would be needed to maintain the minimum cash balance of $50,000.

3. A budgeted income statement for the three-month period ending June 30. Use the contribution approach.

4. A budgeted balance sheet as of June 30.

Significant Data Oversight Essay

I want a reply post to the below essay in 200 words using apa format and journal articlesPart 1:A. critical error in assembling correspondence is the oversight of significant data from different individuals from the gathering. One can do this in order to keep the individuals oblivious in light of the fact that he knows data illuminates and engages individuals. Accordingly, a colleague can withhold data to enable him to get an advancement, accomplish some assignment in order to be redressed or make the trick of others. (Beckford, 2016). Poor correspondences in a group will prompt a debacle in that there will be poor basic leadership, and furthermore will make vulnerability that can prompt clash and stress. The group will be diverted from its unique course since it should explain clashes before it proceeds with the goals of the group.B. Reasons for communication failureSender breakdown happens where there is excessive data sent and subsequently the collector misses the basic focuses. The sender may likewise utilize specialized language making it difficult for the beneficiary to decipher the message. Beneficiary breakdown happens where the recipient purposely misjudges the data perhaps as a result of the state of mind to the message or the sender. Ultimately, there might be a technique or channel breakdown. At the point when the sent data is exceptionally muddled or definite, at that point it is smarter to utilize composed directions than a message that will be misjudged. It is additionally wrong to give the message a chance to go through numerous individuals previously it achieves the beneficiary since it makes the procedure too long. This is called formality (Assad, 2017). The administration needs to build up assemble correspondence ahead of time to maintain a strategic distance from any issues.Part 2:A. Groupthink arises when a group makes defective decisions because of group pressure that prompts a decrease of the effectiveness of the brain, moral judgment, and reality testing. Such gatherings disregard take nonsensical choices that brutalize different gatherings by overlooking options. The key side effects of oblivious obedience include: They share a hallucination of insusceptibility by disregarding peril, individuals are excessively idealistic and take unsafe choices. There is aggregate justification, where individuals offensiveness and clarify away alert instead of gathering considering. Gathering individuals apply weight on protesters. The gathering individuals are in abundance weight not to express any disagreeing contentions that conflict with the perspectives of the gathering. Different indications incorporate self-oversight where individuals are not permitted to express any deviations from the gathering.B. There are stereotyped perspectives about different gatherings: Group believes part’s confidence in the natural profound quality of their gathering. In this manner, individuals disregard any good or moral outcomes of the choices they make (Carlson, 2014). The outcomes of mindless obedience include: The gathering limits itself to a couple of decisions while settling on choices and accordingly they will result in wrong choices. The gathering will neglect to rethink the underlying choice after they find out about the innate dangers. Individuals disregard realities and feelings that they don’t lean toward which will prompt wrong choices. People are better leaders. They are better since they spare time when deciding, they can likewise settle on inciting choices and an individual will assume full liability when an issue emerges. Then again, choices that require the inclusion of the gathering ought to be made with gathering’s commitments (Birch, 2014).

Strayer University Should America Enter the Great War Poster Worksheet

BackgroundThe year is 1916. The Great War (WWI) has been raging for over a year. The United States has remained neutral and stayed out of the conflict. Opinion in the States is sharply divided as to what our role should be in this conflict. Should we stay out of it completely and only offer humanitarian aid to victims of the war? Or should the US join the war? If the US joins the war, who should we support?First watch this video that describes the state of the United States at the start of World War I. (9:26) Next, watch this short clip on Woodrow Wilson and how he wanted to make the world safe for Democracy. (1:26)Woodrow Wilson makes the world safe for Democracy – Lastly, take a look at these three (3) online exhibits that show how poster art was used to sway opinions of the American people either for or against the war.New York’s Library of WWI Propaganda – Library of Congress Selling America on WWI Online Exhibit – Echoes of the Great War – American Experiences of WWI (includes positions for and against the war) – Assignment Your assignment is to create a “propaganda poster” either for or against the US entering WWI. Your poster must be a combination of graphics, photos, or other images that you find from your research and a short slogan or other motivational saying supporting your cause. You must provide a reference on the poster worksheet for each graphic, photo, or other image that you use in your poster unless you created it yourself. There is a list of resources to get your started at the end of this assignment that are also listed in the course shell.Your “poster” can be on a PowerPoint slide, a Google slide, Google Drawing, a Word doc, a pdf, or other presentation format. Once you have created your poster, it is best to save it to a pdf format. You will also fill out the poster worksheet to explain your poster and list the sources you used in making your poster. Upload both your poster and the poster worksheet through the submit button here in Blackboard.RequirementsClearly convey one of the positions listed below. The United States should:Join the Allies.Have at least one statement that advocates for your position.e.g. Dogs for neutrality!! Don’t let your masters pull you into this needless war!! Who will defend them when you are gone?Include information about who you are and why you are advocating for that position either in an additional statement or in a graphic form. Are you an immigrant supporting your home country or your new country? Are you a union worker who agrees or disagrees with the union position on the war?Are you a concerned US citizen speaking out about US policies or issues of equality? This does not have to be based on who you are now.Have at least one illustration, photograph, or other graphic that helps convey your position.Be easy to read and show some thought about the design. Project Description:
You are the production manager for Delta Paint, a regional manufacturing company that specializes in customized paints. Your company sells paint by the gallon, and you have the task of forecasting the best production blends to maximize profit and most effectively utilize resources.
1
Download and open the file named Exp19_Excel_Ch06_Cap_DeltaPaint.xlsx.   Grader has automatically added your last name to the beginning of the   filename.
2
Create appropriate range names   for Total Production Cost (cell B18) and Gross Profit (cell B21) by   selection, using the values in the left column.
3
Edit the existing name range   Employee_Hourly_Wage to Hourly_Wages2021.  Note, Mac users, in the Define Name dialog box, add the new named range, and   delete the original one.
4
Use the newly created range   names to create a formula to calculate Net Profit (in cell B22). Net Profit =   Gross Profit – Total Production Cost.
5
Create a new worksheet labeled Range Names, paste the newly created range   name information in cell A1, and resize the columns as needed for proper   display.
6
On the Forecast sheet, start in   cell E3. Complete the series of substitution values ranging from 10 to 200 at increments of 10   gallons vertically down column E.
7
Enter references to the Total_Production_Cost, Gross_Profit, and Net Profit cells in the   correct locations (F2, G2, and H2 respectively) for a one-variable data   table. Use range names where indicated.
8
Complete the one-variable data   table in the range E2:H22 using cell B4 as the column input cell, and then   format the results with Accounting Number Format with two decimal places.
9
Apply custom number formats to   make the formula references appear as descriptive column headings. In F2, Total Costs; in G2, Gross Profit, in H2, Net Profit. Bold and center the headings   and substitution values.
10
Copy the number of gallons   produced substitution values from the one-variable data table, and then paste   the values starting in cell E26.
11
Type $15 in cell F25. Complete the series of substitution   values from $15 to $40 at $5 increments.
12
Enter the reference to the net   profit formula in the correct location for a two-variable data table.
13
Complete the two-variable data   table in the range E25:K45. Use cell B6 as the Row input cell and B4 as the Column input cell.   Format the results with Accounting Number Format with two decimal places.
14
Apply a custom number format to   make the formula reference appear as a descriptive column heading Wages. Bold and center the headings   and substitution values where necessary.
15
Create a scenario named Best Case, using Units Sold, Unit Selling   Price, and Employee Hourly Wage (use cell references). Enter these values for   the scenario: 200, 30, and 15.
16
Create a second scenario named Worst Case, using the same changing cells.   Enter these values for the scenario: 100, 25, and 20.
17
Create a third scenario named Most Likely, using the same changing cells.   Enter these values for the scenario: 150, 25, and 15.
18
Generate a scenario summary report   using the cell references for Total Production Cost and Net Profit.
19
Load the Solver add-in if it is   not already loaded. Set the objective to calculate the highest Net Profit   possible.
20
Use the units sold as changing   variable cells.
21
Use the Limitations section of   the spreadsheet model to set a constraint for raw materials (The raw   materials consumed must be less than or equal to the raw materials   available). Use cell references to set constraints.
22
Set a constraint for labor   hours. Use cell references to set constraints.
23
Set a constraint for maximum   production capability. Units sold (B4) must be less than or equal to maximum   capability per week (B7). Use cell references to set constraints.
24
Solve the problem. Generate the   Answer Report and Keep Solver Solution.
Create a footer on all four   worksheets with your name on the left side, the sheet name code in the   center, and the file name code on the right side.
Save and close Exp19_Excel_Ch06_Cap_DeltaPaint.xlsx.   Exit Excel. Submit the file as directed.

Previously only the impact of benchmarking, comparing services to similar organizations with similar demographics, of nurse-sensitive indicators (NSI) for quality measures was limited to the acute inpatient setting.  Benchmarking quality measures in the inpatient setting has long been used to develop care models, revision of staffing models to support high-quality care and promote the value of nursing (Start, Matlock, Lynn, Aronow, & Soban, 2018).    To make a change in a care delivery model improving care and decreasing cost, the nurse must leverage NSIs and make comparisons with demographics and role information leveraging the NSIs and make comparisons illustrating the impact of nurses on patient care.Benchmarking for Financial Appraisal     The development of benchmarking measures helps organizations understand the resources required, and the delivery system needs to provide patient care (Start et al., 2018).  Understanding the data to even the playing field of information into an equal comparison process requires evaluating like characteristics.   In oncology, navigation benchmarks are used to assess the impact of using a nurse to direct a patient throughout the continuum of cancer care.  Currently, the use of a nurse navigator does not directly generate revenue for an organization; research suggests oncology patient navigators effectively create positive patient outcomes by collecting data and benchmarking quality outcomes to improve the care provided.  One of the specific benchmarks captured by nurse navigators is timeliness to care.  By comparing the days from diagnosis to treatment of like facilities, the organization can determine if additional providers are needed to ensure patients receive care promptly (Crane-Okada, R., 2013).Benchmarking Risks    As benchmarking has evolved, so has the definition and measures.  Ettorchi, Levif & Michel (2012) describe the process as a measurement of one’s organizations performance as compared with the best-performers to learn the latest work methods and practices. However, the process comes with a risk when reviewing the quality of the data and resulting modification based on the numbers.  Gamble (2014) cautions the decisions to change care should not be solely based on benchmarking.  As an example, one healthcare system reduced their transporters to align with their peer’s model only to discover rather quickly; they did not have enough to transport the patients to the operating room and back.  Therefore, the benchmarking reductions resulting in the nurses transporting patients, which caused delays in the start times in the operating rooms.  Gamble (2014) states benchmarking can have unintentional consequences and decisions should be based on more information than provided by benchmarking. ReferencesAgency for Healthcare Research and Quality. EDGR 506 CU Managementt Leadership in Technology Essay

Read the instructions for the assignment below, Who Am I as a Leader in a Technological World?Post a brief overview of the topic you are researching for your Who am I as a Leader in a Technological World? paper.Assessment Context: This assessment is used at the end of the first course in the M.Ed. Curriculum & Instruction Leadership and Teacher Leadership concentrations program as well as the M.Ed. in Educational Leadership program and the M.Ed. in Career and Technical Education program. The assessment measures the use of ethical decisions about technology use/access in educational settings. The minimum passing score for this critical assessment is 88.5 points.Chapters 1 and 2 of the Holdstein and Aquiline (2016) text on writing research will assist you with considering the appropriate use of information and voice in crafting this assignment. These are very short chapters that can easily help you get into the research mindset to write this paper. (Please keep this text as you will continue to refer to it throughout your program.)In this technologically advanced, and continually advancing, society, it is important for educational leaders to consider the ethical and responsible use and advancement of technologies as a critical aspect of educational leadership. Cyber ethics, the term for creating a culture of ethical technology use, should be a part of your leadership ideals.Identify a current digital technology use that has social, moral, and ethical implications for teachers and students based on your educational current role, or the role you hope to play in the future. The digital technology could be hardware or software (see a list of some possible topics below).Research the social, moral, and ethical implications of the application of the chosen digital technology, identifying various perspectives on the positives and negatives. As you research, pay attention to the issues an educational leader will need to consider regarding access, equity, social relationships, privacy laws/concerns, etc.The superintendent of schools has approached you, the school principal, and asked you to handle cyber ethics at your school. Write a paper that articulates recommendations for the ethical use of a chosen current digital technology in the classroom. This paper will address the ethical challenges of the application of this technology and propose solutions to those challenges that build character in those using the technology. You are establishing a culture that demonstrates the proper use of technology in the classroom. While intended for the superintendent, this paper could be used to inform the school board and parents regarding the steps the school is taking to ensure technology is used in an ethical fashion. In your paper, include:An introduction to the digital technology (see a list of possible technologies below) you have chosen to address and the social, moral, or ethical concerns for the technology user (students, teachers, other users in your organization).A review of current research on the topic that looks at trends in this area (e.g., statistics on use, frequency of negative behaviors). Pay particular attention to social and moral issues raised that are related to your chosen technology. At least four recommendations for building character in those using that particular digital technology so that it is used ethically while also supporting educational initiatives or aims of schooling.Possible topics for this paper include, but are not limited to:

UCLA I. "Chocolate Rain" Video and Ethos

I. “Chocolate Rain” Video and Ethos?less than 350?but more than 300?For this lesson’s homework, you’ll be asked to analyze lyrics. But these lyrics were part of a song, and that song was part of a video that went viral. Why did it go viral? How do these other modes of expression (audio, visual) change the way the message is received? Let’s take a look. I present to you, Tay Zonday’s “Chocolate Rain,” one of the biggest viral video sensations of the late 2000s. -If you haven’t seen this video before: what was funny or strange or unexpected about it? What caught your attention? If you ask the internet why this video went viral, the internet will cite the following reasons (remember Shifman’s framework!):-The repetitiveness of the lyrics.-The disconnect between Tay Zonday’s boyish appearance and his deep baritone voice. (flawed masculinity, or a subversion of that trope?)-Tay Zonday “moving away from the mic to breathe”—and the text overlaid on the screen explaining that. What people didn’t really care about in the video was Zonday’s message and his purpose. They focused on the things that made the video whimsical, and left behind the rest.-We discussed what you think Zonday’s message was. Why do you think that message wasn’t paid attention to?-What is Zonday’s purpose here? What aspects of Zonday’s performance work against his purpose here?In this video, Zonday isn’t successful at communicating his purpose to his audience. Reply at the bottom of this lesson and come up with two ways that Zonday could improve his ethos in this song/video to more effectively achieve his purpose and communicate his message. Explain, in each case, HOW your idea would help Zonday. Make sure you’re writing down your response in the form of a full, cohesive paragraph or two. If your responses are just one or two sentences long, you’re doing it wrong! Zonday’s video gained popularity, and people remixed and repackaged it—it went memetic. Therefore, it was no surprise that Zonday was approached to repackage his own viral text to sell a product. The product was a new version of Dr. Pepper soda, flavored with Cherry and Chocolate. Looking at the difference in the rhetorical situation, we see an interesting shift. PURPOSE: Sell Dr. Pepper soda. MESSAGE: You should drink Dr. Pepper’s new “Cherry Chocolate Dr. Pepper” beverage, because Dr. Pepper is a hip company that knows about the memes you like.AUDIENCE: Youtube viewers, particularly those familiar with Zonday’s original video.-Was this video funny? Was it uncomfortable? Why?-What genre tropes (of rap music, music videos, etc) does this video depend on? Does it use (or subvert) them well?-Does this advertisement seem to honor the original intent of Zonday’s video? Some things that might have stood out to you:-The meaninglessness of the lyrics in this advertisement (“Ohio’s agriculture’s based on grains”) compared to the heartfelt lyrics of Zonday’s original, marginalizing his original message.-The representation of the soda by a woman named “Cherry Chocolate Rain”.-The intensely problematic scene in which Zonday and this woman are covered in chocolate syrup. Did these advertising executives even listen to the original song?-Rap video tropes (scantily-clad women, conspicuous consumption) trotted out thoughtlessly. Now that you’re experts on the content and history of “Chocolate Rain,” let’s do some analysis!CR Exercise: Chocolate Rain Lyrics Analysis
