Imagine that you are an eyewitness identification expert who has been hired to analyze the eyewitness identification evidence in either the Carrillo or Cotton case. Write a short report in which you discuss factors that may have undermined the reliability of the eyewitness evidence in the case. In your analysis, be sure to categorize each factor according to whether it is an estimator variable or a system variable. You should also flag any variables that may have produced suspect-specific bias (Smalarz, 2021), and explain why such variables are particularly problematic. Your report should be written in a persuasive but scientific manner, and you must cite research to support your claims.
