Part 1: After watching the lecture and completing the reading assignments for non-verbal communication -discuss what you found to be the most interesting aspects of non-verbal communication we discussed. For instance, I was at Home Depot returning an item from a home project I’mworking on. I smiled at the sales associate, but her “tone” wasn’t as friendly as I was expecting. I thought tomyself… HOW RUDE… but then realized, she couldn’t actually see me smile – therefore my smiling did nothingto demonstrate friendliness. It was a powerful reminder of how we utilize non-verbals in our interactions withothers. Have you had a similar experience?Receive an extra 2 points for ending your reflection with how I learned an important lesson about non-verbalcommunication in my life as a graduate student. Part 1: After watching the lecture on listening, and after taking the listening assessment -reflect on thefollowing questions:• Do you know someone who is a good listener? How do you know?• What do you think about people in your life who are good listeners? Who are bad listeners? Do youtreat them/and your relationships differently?• Can you reflect on a time when you weren’t a good listener and how it impacted your life in animportant way?Using tips from the lecture, explain the ways in which you can improve your listening skills in the future.You may choose to complete this as either a written assignment OR you can record and submit a videodiscussing your answers to these questions. If you choose to submit a video, make sure you give sufficientexamples, citing information in the lectures – to demonstrate you’ve read the assigned material and watched thelectures.
