MNGT 317 FGCU Both Cultural and Business Related Factors Discussion

There are different characteristics a manager must pay attention to when choosing if a company should operate a system globally or locally such as cultural and business related factors. If a was a manager in this situation, first I would analyze the business I oversee and determine the benefits and challenges of operating globally. Some of the potential issues are global footprint, challenges with cultural processes, or communication barriers. After determining my possible issues, I would determine the solutions. For instance, implementing sustainable ways to operate and reduce waste. Another aspect is to learn the culture of the area of planning to expand and hire some local managers to contribute and help with the transition. I would also check the financial benefit of running a business globally. Making sure that there is opportunity that will open new business and study my customer target so that will generate more profits. As a manager it is important to not only understand the general cultural factors going globally, but also the business factors as these two works together to generate a positive outcome. Some of the business areas to study are communication standards, internet reliability and speed, and skilled work candidates. One example of companies that operate globally and run a successful business is Apple. Apple not only builds parts for their electronics globally, but it also distributes their final product to many countries around the world. Apple is one of the top sellers when it comes to computers and innovative smart devices.
