investigate the impact of single-sex classrooms on girls’ academic achievement.
The purpose of this qualitative descriptive study was to investigate the impact of single-sex classrooms on girls’ academic achievement. In specific terms, the study sought to understand better teachers’ perceptions on how single-sex classrooms affect the experiences of K-12 female students and the effect it has on the levels of academic performance and achievement. This purpose was achieved by collecting data through semi-structured interviews from ten educators with vast knowledge and experience working with girls in single-sex schools or classrooms. The thematic analysis from the respondent’s E-mails interviews produced two main themes, each answering the research questions. Each theme had several other sub-themes as discussed in the following section.
Discuss each theme.
