explain whether you think these experiences make a compelling case that non-therapeutic abortions should be legal.

The Pre-Roe “Bad Old Days”

Read the Cases and Controversies section titled “The Pre-Roe ‘Bad Old Days’” at the end of Chapter Nine of Bioethics in a Cultural Context, including the questions. In approximately 4 pages double- spaced, do the following in the form of a short essay: First, explain the central moral issues raised by Waldo Fielding’s experiences? Second, explain whether you think these experiences make a compelling case that non-therapeutic abortions should be legal. Third, consider an objection to your view and reply to it.

While writing your paper, make sure to draw on the material covered in Chapters Eight and Nine. While presenting arguments, objections, and replies for the second and third questions, it is advisable to draw on the abortion rights arguments developed by Judith Jarvis Thomson (p. 175), and Mary Anne Warren (pp. 175-176), as well as on the anti-abortion argument presented by Rev. Randy Alcon (p. 182).
