The topic must include an experiment with two manipulated variables which are nominal, ordinal, or a combination of the two. Further, the hypothesis which tests the effects of the two treatments must not rely on, or make assumptions about, parameters. *3) Find a popular press article from a reputable, established science publication or the science section of a major periodical (e.g., Scientific American Mind, Discover, New York Times, L.A Times, Psychology Today, American Psychologist, Science News) that provides an answer to your research question. *4) Find data to answer your research question. The data will be found through public access sites on the web (such as Pub Med, links at Association for Psychological Science, PsycINFO (at the library), U.S. Statistical Abstracts, etc.).Using more than one site to cross-check your facts and data is a good idea but may not be possible in all cases. If your research question is controversial, this should surely be considered. Given the data you present, at least one member must provide a logical conclusion that demonstrates that you understand measures of central tendency, variability, and the advantages and disadvantages of the Chi-Square procedures.
