Social media spreads news in seconds, something that we were not used to growing up. The reality of that began to hit us when we started to see what we now refer to as “fake news” stories that have harmed people’s reputations for no other reason than to lie. Before social media, it was hard enough to avoid crummy news stories, but now that it is everywhere we cannot really avoid it unless we shut off our phones, TVs, and live in the woods with no wifi. I do believe that there is a glimmer of hope.
