The reflective essay must respond to the following: ( I attached the performance response1 and one of the discussion posts) What have you learned this semester (in relation to the learning outcomes on the syllabus) and why and how do the pieces of evidence you’ve chosen demonstrate that? What did you do or not do that helped or hindered your learning during the semester? How do you think you will use what you’ve learned in the future? In the reflective essay, your task is to demonstrate which of the learning outcomes for the course you have achieved. You illustrate this achievement by writing a well-formed essay that cites evidence from your coursework (you must include the performance response and one discussion posting as pieces of evidence; other evidence can be from other postings, module exercises, your other short response, quizzes, and so on). Remember: you must use the evidence to support your argument. Do not just say, “You can see I have achieved learning outcome number 1 by looking at my first performance response.” You have to say something like, “You can see from performance response 1, where I say this that, and the other thing, that I demonstrate my achievement of learning outcome number 1.” You can also demonstrate your achievement of a learning outcome by explaining how you would do something different now from when you first did it (for example, “Although in my discussion posting on non-Western theatre, I wrote x, y, and z, I would now change that to a, b, and c, which clearly shows that I have achieved learning outcome 1.”

Barbie trumps even Yahoo’s Marissa Mayer on the Internet’s symbolic ranking of female success”. The stereotypes are very obvious when scrolling through images and the first one you see of a woman happens to be an oversexualized photo surrounded by photos of men in suits looking professional. Paquette really emphasizes “The misrepresentation problem could hurt real women’s chances in job interviews”, this comes to show that even in the workplace the representation of women is predominantly based on physical attributes. While searching for a better article my biggest challenge was finding one that actually focused on how women are misrepresented and not men. The terms I used to search for my articles were “Representation of women”, “Media and how it views women”. What worked for me was going through multiple articles and trying to find some that resonate with my essay and not something that goes off topic too much. What I learned that can help me in the future is trying to broaden up the words I use to help me get some more articles that have something to do with my topic. Another thing I learned that can be useful is using the highlighting tool to allow me to highlight important quotes I can use to strengthen my essay.
