Policies are typically enacted to prevent situations from becoming worse and oftentimes to improve outcomes. Some policies are implemented on a national level while others only apply to specific states.

    Conduct research within the state that you live in and find a healthcare policy that has been implemented within the last 20 years. Write a 4-5 page paper on that a healthcare policy (ex. Nursing home reform, ambulance transportation, etc.). Think about how this policy impacts your role and the roe of your organization. Be sure to include the following:

Discussion #2: Madeline Albright – On being a woman and a diplomat

Madeline Albright was the first woman Secretary of State. She served under Bill Clinton from 1997-2001. She is noted for her humor, her strong personality and her “tell it like it is” attitude.

In the video, Madeline Albright states that women do better understanding others’ issues (walking in their shoes)  and can also “tell it like it is” when necessary. She also states that many times women’s issues such as education and healthcare need to be championed by women, both in the US and worldwide.  Lastly, she believes that the tone and goals of the conversation change with more women.
