Proposed Title of the Paper

The proposed title of the paper is “Healthcare Disparity in the United States and what interventions are been implemented to reduce the gaps?”

Main Era and People to be Examined

The paper explores the era between 1980 and 2019. The dates present a period when consistent calls have been made for structural reforms to stop various forms of discrimination, mainly racial discrimination. For that reason, examining the era extends the researcher’s and audiences’ knowledge of the progress the U.S healthcare system has made to address disparity in healthcare resulting from differences such as people’s race, education, or socioeconomic status. The paper mainly explores historically marginalized groups, for example, black and Asian Americans. According to Lopez et al. (2021), the healthcare system in the U.S is overwhelmed with disparities that have an uneven effect on marginalized groups. According to the authors, the inequalities result in gaps in critical areas such as access to healthcare, health insurance coverage and poor health outcomes among particular populations. Examining this population, therefore, offers an adequate opportunity to explore how existing disparities can be addressed to meet the health needs of all people.

Finding Sources for the Paper

Sources that will be used in the paper can be gathered from books and online scholarly databases, including EBSCO and PubMed. The databases offer rich sources of relevant information and the latest research.

Difficulties with the Project

Finding relevant materials and access to resources are the main challenges experienced in the project. Preparing a high-quality paper requires learners to use relevant and credible sources upon which to provide evidence and justifications for their claims. However, with the proliferation of resources on various topics, for example, on the internet, students may be overwhelmed with the resources to use. However, the difficulty is addressed by focusing on scholarly and reliable sources and disregarding others, such as blogs.

Has the adoption of identified sustainable strategies at Zara Company increased the firm’s monetary growth and brand equity?

Organisational Background

In this section a background review of Zara Company is going to be developed and addressed in detail. The study seeks to undertake a critical comparison research on the evolution of sustainable strategies in Zara amidst the high competition presented by luxury brands manufacturers. Thus, the anticipated course of action is to evaluate the manner which youthful generation such as millennial and Gen Z have maintained an unwavering brand loyalty towards Zara products following its various campaigns and promotions in social media platforms such as Instagram. In this case, the determination of the matter shall lie on the perceptions of the target sample aged 18-30 years as has been detailed out later in the research methodology and the procedures thereof. Zara serves as one of the largest global fashion enterprises and has partnership with Inditex also considered to be the largest distribution groups (Zara, 2021). At the centre of the business model is the customer which incorporates design, manufacturing, distribution, as well as sales via its extensive retail network. Worth noting Zara has presence across major social networking sites namely Newsletter, Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube. However, for this dissertation special attention on Instagram and as per the facts on 23rd November 2021 Zara Instagram evidences to have 3,543 posts, 87 following, and 47.4m followers (Zara, 2021). The other observation is that Zara has a diversified product portfolio which includes fashion for men, women, and kids; as well as manufacturing of shoes, bags, and athletics attires (Zara, 2021). Aligned to the information above is that Zara SA under the brand name “ZARA” remains a Spanish apparel retailer domiciled in Arteixo, Galicia, A Coruña, Spain and has its speciality in fast fashion, including products in clothing, footwear, accessories, swimwear, perfumes, and beauty and as mentioned, it is the world largest retailer of apparel. In 2019, it was approximated to have a revenue base of 28,286 million EUR and with 2,270 physical stores, and the parent company been Inditex. In 2020, the revenue was approximated at 20,402 million EUR proving a drop of -27.87% which can be attributed to the Covid-19 pandemic (Zara Annual Report, 2020).

1.3 Significance of the Problem

The gaps in the sustainable strategies adopted by Zara Company in the UK are themselves relevant at the industry level especially considering the forces that emerge from the external business environment. As anticipated to be proven in the later parts of the study, Zara operations must have been disrupted by Brexit outcomes as well as Covid-19 pandemic due to the changes in customer behaviour among others. In this regard, the problem presented in the study adopts a 360 degrees focus on how the internal and external business environment for Zara can be sought as a fundamental synergy towards a stronger, profitable, and competitive performance for Zara Company in the United Kingdom. Moreover, the assessment of the problem presents important academic insights to future scholars in understanding the interplay between sustainable strategies versus business performance of Zara; and the results may be wholly applicable to the fashion industry in the UK in the long-term.

1.4 Statement of Purpose

The review of Zara Company considering its core operation in the United Kingdom is to provide pedagogical and managerial solutions on how fast fashion enterprises can rely on sound sustainable strategies to drive a superior performance compared to their competitors.

1.5 Statement of the Problem

As held by Smith (2015) the assessment of the relationship between sustainable strategies and business performance of Zara as a fast-fashion company has not been fully explored especially in the context of the UK market/region. Moreover, Connell (2018) the methodological gaps in the studies evaluating Zara performance driven by its sustainable strategies still require more justification and conclusive insights meant to create comprehensive growth models for the firm. In the same respect, Diageo (2021) noted on the limited evaluation of Zara sustainable models and how they have been affected by external business environment especially the Covid-19 pandemic due to the ensuing changes in fast-fashion consumption among others.

1.6 Aim and Objectives

The study aims to examine the impact of sustainable strategies practiced by Zara Company in the United Kingdom towards its business performance.

The objectives of the research include the following:

  • To examine the effectiveness of the sustainable strategies implemented by Zara Company
  • To analyse the business performance of Zara Company considering two important events namely the Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom
  • To comprehend the extent to which Zara Company has optimised its sustainable strategies to achieve enhanced performance in terms of profitability or financial stability and growth, lean/agile supply chain, and customer loyalty
  • To recommend viable models for sustainable competitive advantage for Zara Company for the purpose of enhanced performance in the long-term

1.7 Research Questions

The research questions for the study are going to be adumbrated by the qualitative and quantitative aspects of the study, as follows:

RQ1: How has Zara Company managed to formulate viable sustainable strategies that have enhanced its business performance across the period? (Qualitative)

RQ2: What have been the challenges preventing Zara Company to successfully attain a stronger performance in the changing business environment despite the adoption of preferred sustainable strategies? (Qualitative)

RQ3: Has the adoption of identified sustainable strategies at Zara Company increased the firm’s monetary growth and brand equity? (Quantitative)

Produce a Michaelis-Menten plot showing enzyme velocity (V0) vs [S].

Description

Using the table provided, please supply each of the dot points below with correct titles, values and descriptions. – Use the initial velocities and your standard curve to determine the rate that pNP was produced at each substrate concentration (this can be considered enzyme velocity shown as [pNP]/time). That is, convert to [pNP]/time from Absorbance/time. – Produce a Michaelis-Menten plot showing enzyme velocity (V0) vs [S]. You may be able to estimate Km and Vmax from this. – Prepare a table of reciprocal V0 and [S] to be used for a Line-weaver Burk plot. Note that reciprocal V0 and [s] simply means 1/V0 and 1/[S]. – Produce a Line-weaver Burk plot (ensure you label each axis correctly). You will need to extend the trendline so that your graph shows where the trendline intercepts the x-axis and y-axis. – Use the Line-weaver Burk plot to determine Km and Vmax. You can use the equation of the line to first determine the -1/Km and 1/Vmax and then rearrange to find Km and Vmax.

Compare and contrast the function of the four artworks and distinguish the connections that can be made, pointing out patterns you find.

Description

Part A In this first portion of the assignment you are asked to analyze the iconography of the artworks listed below. Defined in the textbook, iconography is an understanding of the subject matter and symbols of an artwork (Stokstad and Cothern, 2016, pg. 6). Based on your understanding of the cultures and time periods you have encountered over the past 4 lessons of textbook readings, analyze the following artworks in terms of their iconography. 1. Adam and Eve, Albrecht Dürer, 1504. Engraving. Located on page 357 of the textbook. 2. The Founding of Tenochtitlan page from the Codex Mendoza, Aztec, 1545 CE. Located on page 411 of the textbook. 3. The Hip Pendant Representing an Iyoba (“Queen Mother”), Nigeria, c. 1550 CE. Located on page 433 of the textbook. 4. Tar Beach, Faith Ringgold, 1988. Acrylic on canvas, and pieced cloth. Located on page 572 of the textbook. Part B Compare and contrast the function of the above works. Focus your analysis on how each artwork functioned spiritually and/or politically in their original context. Your discussion should include the importance of the artwork at the time of its creation for the viewer at that time. For instance, you could address issues such as, was the artwork used as a visual teaching of a concept, was it used as an historical record to document an event? Compare and contrast the function of the four artworks and distinguish the connections that can be made, pointing out patterns you find. Conclude your essay with a short discussion on the use of symbols in the 21st century to communicate, applying what you learned regarding the use of symbolic imagery throughout the centuries of art studied in the past 4 weeks. (Think of advertising logos or emojis etc. when considering 21st century examples.)

[10 marks]

What to include?

You may use appendices to include relevant material such as evidence, source data and any data that backs up claims you are making and insights you are generating, such as redacted emails or documents or interview transcripts. Appendices are not directly included in your mark but do provide useful information to the reader. Your main script should only include things you consider should be in your mark. If these are tables, diagrams or multi-media links, think of how much time they will take to absorb by the reader. Excessive use of the extra material will be penalised and feedback given explaining the penalty.

Ensure any diagrams, tables etc. that are within the script are given a title and referred to in the body of your assessment. Do not expect the reader to understand how they fit into your argument unless you explain how they do. Tables and in-text references are included in the word count. The list of references, appendices and diagrams are not included in the word count. However, diagrams can be considered if they appear to be a way of avoiding word count by being very wordy diagrams. The total word count includes the standard +/- 10% leeway.
