Formulate a concise thesis sentence detailing your argument on the theme of love and violence in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

Thesis: The theme of love and violence communicates the idea of two opposite forces being present together. William Shakespeare has given examples of this theme throughout the play Romeo and Juliet.

Body Paragraph #1 – Friar Lawrence advises that fast paced joys and actions lead to tragic endings.

Example 1: “These violent delights have violent ends.” – Friar Lawrence

Analysis:

  • Friar Lawrence states that passionate joys have violent endings.
  • Lord Capulet rushed to get Juliet married to Paris. (Juliet faked her death in front of him, but later killed herself.)

Example 2: “And in their triumph die, like fire and powder, Which, as they kiss, consume.” – Friar Lawrence

Analysis:

  • They die in their moment of triumph, just like a spark and gunpowder destroy themselves in an explosion once they touch.
  • The Friar states that extreme emotions often end in disaster.
  • The extreme emotions Romeo and Juliet had for each other caused their death.
  • Romeo and Juliet rush to get married. (Their extreme emotions/passion for each other caused their death.)

Body Paragraph #2 – Romeo and Juliet kill themselves, as they believe they cannot continue to live without each other.

Example 1: “Star-crossed lovers take their life.” – Prologue

Analysis:

  • This dialogue in the prologue mentions lovers and death, which also means love and violence.
  • There is love between two people, but violence occurs in the form of suicide.

Example 2: “O true apothecary, Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die.” – Romeo Montague

Analysis:

  • Romeo kills himself after believing that Juliet has passed away.
  • He kills himself after believing that his love has left him alone on earth.

Example 3: “O happy dagger, This is thy sheath. There rust and let me die.” – Juliet Capulet

Analysis:

  • After waking up from her sleeping potion, Juliet sees Romeo’s lifeless body and proceeds to end her life.
  • Juliet also takes her life after seeing Romeo, her lover and husband, dead.

Body Paragraph #3 – The violent feud between the Montague and Capulet families end by the death of Romeo and Juliet.

Example 1: “For I will raise her statue in pure gold, That whiles Verona by that name is known, There shall no figure at such rate be set As that of true and faithful Juliet.” – Lord Montague

Analysis:

  • Through the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, Lord Montague decides to honour Juliet with a gold statue.
  • She remained faithful to her first love Romeo, by choosing to fake her death.

Example 2: “As rich shall Romeo’s by his lady’s lie, Poor sacrifices of our enmity.” – Lord Capulet

Analysis:

  • Lord Capulet states that he will make a gold statue for Romeo.
  • Lord Capulet states that the hate between their families is not worth their children’s love sacrifice.

Conclusion: Therefore, love and violence are a theme present throughout Romeo and Juliet. The opposing forces are present together in many scenes.

Create a PowerPoint presentation prescribing a human resource and technology change map.

Create a PowerPoint presentation prescribing a human resource and technology change map. Your goal is to assess human resource recruitment, onboarding, performance review, learning and development, and relationship management as they relate to deploying a new customer relationship management (CRM) software for Walmart. You will focus specifically on employees working in a global customer support call center with one domestic and two international locations. For each element of the human resource phase, noted above, you may consider employee qualifications, abilities, education, and evaluation.

Since this is a significant change for an organization, you should address how appropriate Human Resource management practices can address this disruptive change. Your recommendations should address how the recommended solutions will help your selected organization to use the new CRM to reach its strategic goals better as they relate to the corporate mission and vision.

Mapping and Managing Change

Something is exhilarating and intimidating about change. While most people love new movies, new smartphones, or even enjoy the latest food fad, many others do not respond the same way when something changes within their work environment. Fundamentally, the irony of this is that the new smartphones and the new way to process sales orders in a job are the same things; they are both considered as types of change. The challenge to handle change as a business leader is to recognize when it is time to manage change and when it is time to lead the change.

A principal requirement to understand is that leadership and management, while often used interchangeably, are not the same. This is especially true when it comes to change. Managing change is a two-pronged approach. First, the decision makers must manage the systems, processes, and procedures needed to execute the change. Second, they must lead their team through the changes. Leadership comes by way of inspiration. A leader’s role is to inspire those they lead by sharing their, or the company’s, vision and mission. When people are managed through change instead of being led through change, the ability to maintain and sustain that change is limited.

The act of mapping change and managing change is the combination of leadership application and management in action. As it relates to this course, the objective here is not to define leadership styles, but to recognize that leadership must be paired with management if effective and sustainable change is to occur. The human element or leadership of people includes choosing the right people from the beginning or leading existing team members to have a clear understanding of what the organization wants to achieve. Organizations must effectively map how, when, and where technology is the answer to innovation, and when people are the key element.

The Final Essay Instructions:

Final essay (1500-2000 words) must contain an introduction, statement of the thesis (the claim to be supported), arguments supporting the thesis and conclusion. Students will need to perform research from reputable sources to back up their arguments, including expert opinions, statistics, analogies, news articles, primary research articles, etc. Database resources covered in this course should be used (e.g. cancer statistics, IARC monographs). No fewer than 5 scholarly sources should be used in the final essay, of which 50% must be original research articles or scholarly literature reviews less than five years old. PUBMED database should be used to find scholarly sources. All the sources will need to be cited using APA style.

Introduction:
Introduction section should include relevant information about the topic you chose. Why is it important to address this claim? Are there any common misconceptions about this particular claim that should be addressed. Include some relevant statistics, significant facts about the topic. Try to find some polls that indicate the popular opinion about this claim. Include thesis statement at the end of the introduction paragraph in bold font. The thesis statement is not a statement of the goal of your essay, but it should announce the steps in your argument.

Body Paragraphs:
The essay should have three clear arguments based on the thesis statement. Each paragraph will contain one argument. For each paragraph, state your argument in the first sentence. Provide evidence to support the argument. Include opposing evidence and argue why this evidence does not support your argument, and comment on the weight or reliability of this evidence. Your arguments
should be based on scientific evidence. You are expected to present BOTH sides of the argument, and then weigh the evidence based on what you learned in the course. The last sentence in each of body paragraphs should be a short concluding remark.

Discussion/Conclusion Paragraph:
First, briefly summarize your arguments and evidence. Then, try to make connections of your arguments with society. Why do we need to understand this? Why is it important to be informed about this topic?
What is the impact on society if this issue is misunderstood? Finally, comment on the status of evidence for this issue. Are there any gaps in the literature? Are there any limitations in research? Did we only begin to study this issue? How much more do we need to do to address it adequately? Suggest some future directions.
