Conspiracy
Please read the background information below then respond to the questions presented below on the law of conspiracy.
John Angelo Gotti III is a New York City mobster who during the 1990s led the Gambino crime family of Cosa Nostra for his imprisoned father John J. Gotti. He is also known as the son of the Teflon Don.  John Gotti Jr. arrested on murder conspiracy charge. Barcelo for NewsJohn “Junior” Gotti escorted Tuesday morning outside of the Melville, NY, FBI building. John A. (Junior) Gotti was ratted out by a boyhood buddy who gave the feds enough evidence to charge the mob heir Tuesday with three murders – and possibly put him away for life, sources told the Daily News.

John Alite, who got his start in crime robbing drug dealers with the Dapper Don’s son, was not named as a defendant in the indictment charging Junior with racketeering, murder and cocaine trafficking. Alite, 45, however, was identified by the feds as “a powerful associate of the Gambino crime family” who directed their “criminal enterprise” in Tampa. A career criminal from Ozone Park, Queens, who fled the country in 2004 after he was hit with federal racketeering charges, Alite vowed in an interview two years ago he’d never rat on Gotti. But he also said he feared going to prison.

“Either way, I’m a dead man,” Alite told the St. Petersburg Times as he sat in a stinking Brazilian jail and fought extradition to Florida for two years. Since then, Alite, who was extradited in December 2006 and could face a murder rap, appears to have decided that crossing Gotti is less dangerous than going to jail, the sources said.

Gotti, 44, was arrested by the FBI at his Long Island home at 6 a.m. Tuesday. Though the murders happened in New York, the charges grew out of a decade-long investigation of the Gambino family’s operations in Tampa. Displaying none of his late father’s sartorial splendor, Junior wore a navy-blue polo shirt and matching sweatpants at his arraignment. “Yes, Your Honor,” he politely answered the judge. Manhattan federal prosecutor Elie Honig said at a hearing that the indictment against Gotti “captures a lifetime of criminality,” tracing his rise from a street-level enforcer in the 1980s to a cocaine king with a “stable” of dealers in Queens.

Honig said Gotti became a “made man” after ordering the December 1988 murder of George Grosso in Queens and “oversaw” the murder of Gambino family soldier Louis DiBono, who was rubbed out on Oct. 4, 1990, in a parking garage of the World Trade Center. John Gotti, the Gambino family boss who died behind bars in 2002, was caught on tape by the feds approving the demise of DiBono because “he refused to come in when I called.”

Junior was also charged in the Nov. 20, 1991, slaying of Bruce Gotterup in Rockaway Beach, Queens. “Mr. Gotti absolutely denies any involvement with any of the three murders,” Gotti attorney Charles Carnesi said. “There is no evidence. … This is a case based on a drug dealer who wants to avoid going to jail.”

Carnesi said the feds were trying to pin the murders on Gotti because they tried and failed three times to convict him of plotting to kidnap Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa. He said Gotti was a family man who has stayed out of trouble since his 1999 conviction on racketeering charges.

The judge was not swayed by Carnesi’s words. He ordered Gotti held without bail and extradited to Tampa for trial. Carnesi said the feds have not set a date to send Gotti to Florida and that he’s going to try to have him “plead not guilty by video … so he can stay up here, at least.” Gotti’s mother, Victoria, told The News she was “just wiped out.” His sister Victoria questioned why Gambino turncoats Salvatore (Sammy Bull) Gravano and Michael (Mikey Scars) DiLeonardo didn’t tell the feds “anything about those crimes.” “The feds first tried to make John, my brother, a rat – yet he stood trial three times,” she told The News. “And now yet again!”

The Gambinos aren’t the powerful crime family they used to be. The feds gutted the leadership in February when they arrested more than 60 mobsters in New York City and Sicily on charges that include murder, extortion and racketeering. Four other alleged New York wiseguys who had been in cahoots with the Gambinos were named in a related racketeering indictment. Also named was another childhood friend of Junior’s, 33-year-old James Cadicamo of Tampa, who is accused of conspiring to kill a Gambino thug who turned government witness. Another of the accused, 47-year-old John Burke of Queens, had been charged as the triggerman in the Gotterup case but was later acquitted. He was doing time for another crime in an upstate prison when he was hit Tuesday with the new racketeering charges.

Guy Peden, 47, of Wantagh, L.I., was charged Tuesday with helping Burke kill Gotterup. Burke and David D’Arpino, 33, of Howard Beach, Queens, were also charged with murdering John Gebert in Queens on July 12, 1996. Gotti has not been connected to that crime. The other man indicted on racketeering charges Tuesday was Michael Finnerty, 43, of Oceanside, L.I. Like the others, he faces life in prison if convicted.

Gotti was also charged with conspiring to distribute 5 kilos of cocaine, according to the indictment. He remains a suspect in the 1983 stabbing murder of Danny Silva during a brawl at the Silver Fox Bar in Ozone Park, but prosecutors decided the evidence was too weak despite the emergence of a new witness last year, sources said.

Discuss anchor standards.  How should teachers use the standards?

I need help with this question:Part 1. Pick one subject area and write a review of the Mississippi standards. What is the purpose of having standards? Discuss how they are divided. Discuss anchor standards. How should teachers use the standards? What resources are provided for teachers assist with interpreting and teaching the standards? You must list references from the book or other resources to strengthen your response.Part 2. Pick one subject and one grade (Math or ELA). Do a detailed comparison of the standards of the Mississippi and Texas standards for that particular grade and subject. For example, if you select 4thgrade English Language Arts. You will review the 4thgrade ELA standards for Mississippi and Texas. Then, you will do a comparison of the two. What do you see? Do students at that grade and subject level seem to learn the same things in both states? Does one seem more rigorous than the other? Etc…Below are links to the Mississippi Department of Education College and Career Ready Standards for Math and English language arts. Determine the leadership competencies that would be beneficial to you as a leader in the selected foreign market.

In the first half, you will prepare for Walmart to operate in a foreign market. You will need to analyze at least two leadership models and/or styles to determine which one will be more suitable for leading employees and for responding to stakeholders in a country outside of North America. Determine the leadership competencies that would be beneficial to you as a leader in the selected foreign market. You will choose either Peru, New Zealand, Philippines, Egypt, Czech Republic, or the United Arab Emirates for your analysis. You will also need to compare the concepts of cultural leadership according to how they can be applied in the country that you have selected. You must also determine the leadership skills and practices that should be used in order to foster team and organizational success. In the second half, you will conduct an analysis of the country that you have decided to expand operations into. The analysis must include the rationale for country selection based upon demographic and economic data. Lastly, the analysis should inform leadership about the country’s culture based upon GLOBE’s nine dimensions of culture as argued in Northouse (2018). Incorporate each of the nine dimensions of culture in an analysis that will be hypothetically presented to Walmart leadership. When utilizing the nine dimensions, current information about the culture of the selected country must be utilized. The purpose of this preliminary analysis is to make sure that the leadership team understands the complexities of expanding into the country that you have selected.· Analyze the demographic and economic data of a country that Walmart is currently not operating in.· Conduct an analysis for Walmart leadership about the country’s culture based upon the GLOBE’s nine dimensions of culture.· Explain how Walmart’s leadership skills and practices may lead to organizational success.· Formulate a model of cultural and ethical leadership as it applies to Walmart at a global level. The Walmart Analysis for Leadership Final Paper· Must be eight to ten double-spaced pages in length (not including title and references pages) and formatted according toAPA Style(Links to an external site.)as outlined in the Writing Center’sAPA Formatting for Microsoft Word(Links to an external site.)resource.· Must include an introduction and conclusion paragraph. Explain why your research is important to the public policy and administration field.

Your Prospectus requires that you write about the significance of the research—the “so what?” question. What original contribution will this study make? How will it affect professional practice or other practical application, and how can findings lead to positive social change?Research results often have social change implications and make a difference in the world. Choosing to conduct research on an area or topic that can do so suggests that you are attempting to be the kind of researcher whose intellectual pursuits are altruistic. Note that one of the required sections of your Dissertation is the implications of your research findings for fostering positive social change. As you design your research plan, identifying implications for social change, it is critical that you examine any related ethical considerations to these social change efforts.Majchrzak and Markus (2014) write of positive social change resulting from systemic policy research findings, in the sense that it “involves both evidence and meaning to create outcomes that help to change the world” (p. 2). In order to do this, it “requires people to take actions, observe the consequences of those actions, and then change their actions based on feedback” (pp. 2–3), or “learn by doing.” Of course, policy analysis is only one type of research in public policy and administration. Even so, Majchrzak and Markus continue, “We know that it takes passion to change the world, but it takes more than passion to make the world a better place. It takes critical thinking, evidence, meaning, and careful value judgments” (p. 9).“Social entrepreneurs are not content just to give a fish or teach how to fish. They will not rest until they have revolutionized the fishing industry.”(Bill Drayton, CEO, chair and founder of Ashoka)The factors described by Majchrzak and Markus characterize social entrepreneurship as a means to positive social change. Social entrepreneurs maintain a vision of how to improve a given social condition, transforming systems to create lasting, systemic, and sustainable social impact. Their focus is on the social mission of creating transformative change for complex social problems, such as poverty, illiteracy, lack of affordable housing, economic disparities, human rights abuses, challenges to peace and security, and environmental destruction, to name a few.Given this vision, they create and apply ideas, strategies, and actions to promote the worth, dignity, and development of individuals, family systems, neighborhoods, communities, organizations, institutions, cultures, and societies—locally, nationally, and globally. As a route to social innovation and social justice, social entrepreneurship is a form of leadership that maximizes the social return on efforts to change the world, while fundamentally and permanently changing the way problems are addressed on a global scale. Social entrepreneurs employ a wide variety of creative approaches and practices from diverse academic disciplines and professional sectors. These methods allow social entrepreneurs to develop and implement pattern-breaking solutions for previously intractable social problems.Social transformation is within the reach of all communities, through citizen engagement and action, in the belief that people have the inherent capacity to own and solve their own problems, through partnership, commitment to inclusion and impact, and innovation. Social entrepreneurship may encompass social enterprise, service learning, community service, and social activism. Social innovation may emerge from these approaches, with the opportunity to provide widespread system change. Social justice work is done on many levels: Funding, direct service, education, and long-term public policy reform, typically in partnership and coalitions with other organizations. These aspects of deliberate scientific research, conducted with integrity, together with the passion for social transformation, are expected of Walden Ph.D. students. The following commitments to social change illustrate the importance of addressing this issue in your Premise, Prospectus, Proposal, and Dissertation.Walden University Vision, Mission, and GoalsVision: Walden University envisions a distinctively different 21st-century learning community where knowledge is judged worthy to the degree that it can be applied by its graduates to the immediate solutions of critical societal challenges, thereby advancing the greater global good.Mission: Walden University provides a diverse community of career professionals with the opportunity to transform themselves as scholar-practitioners so that they can effect positive social change (“Vision, Mission, and Goals,” 2013–2014 Walden University Catalog, March 2014).The Walden University Commitment to Social Change: Students, alumni, faculty, and staff at Walden University are committed to transforming themselves through the scholar-practitioner learning model, built on the belief that “knowledge is most valuable when put to use in the interest of the greater good.” Effecting positive social change is defined by a commitment to “improving the human and social condition by creating and applying ideas, ”strategies, and actions to promote the worth, dignity, and development of individuals, communities, organizations, and society as a whole” (“Introduction, About Walden University,” 2013–2014 Walden University Catalog, March 2014).The Walden community helps to bring the university’s mission to life by participating in and leading research, speaker series, conferences, and service initiatives and projects that are making a difference in communities around the world in their focus on justice, sustainability, and peace.Mission of the Ph.D. Program in the School of Public Policy & Administration (SPPA): In order to create and maintain thriving communities, leaders and managers must have the vision and skill to plan, develop policies, implement programs and services, and manage resources effectively. Leaders in public service and all sectors of society should be grounded in scientific inquiry and scholarship. The program prepares students to meet the challenges of creating and providing programs and services in an increasingly complex and collaborative environment. The program educates students on critical public policy issues and the latest best practices to promote social change through effective, forward-thinking leadership and management. In this Discussion, you will explain the significance of your study, to include positive social change. To prepare for this Discussion, review the Social Change resources listed for the week.By Day 4, post a description of the anticipated significance of your study, to include the implications for positive social change. In your post, incorporate and reference Expanding Our Understanding of Social Change and use the Preparing Walden Learners for Social Change matrix.Explain why your research is important to the public policy and administration field. What implications do you anticipate your research will have for the “social” and “change” components of the matrix, e.g., community and collaboration? Be specific about who might benefit and in what way.Analyze ways this area of interest may lend itself to research-based solutions.Explain one or more of these questions related to ethics and social change:In what ways does your proposed research empower the people it is intended for, vs. strengthening the idea that they are victims in need of your charity? To what extent or in what ways will you invite the recipients to participate in the design because you value their perspectives? In what ways might the results of the research lead to social change for some but not for others? How might the results be used to make decisions that harm specific groups of people?
