6210 Week 8 Assignment: Community Resources for Older Individuals
Volunteers, organizations, and political officials in local communities often campaign to improve conditions and provide services to enhance the well-being of residents. If you are the parent of young children, for instance, you might focus on improving the local school or creating safe places where children can play. If you are an individual in later adulthood or a caregiver for an older adult, what community resources might be important to you? What social challenges could be resolved through increased community support?
In this week’s Assignment, you evaluate the resources that your local community currently provides for its older members and propose improvements or additions to better meet older adults’ needs.
To Prepare:

Review the      Learning Resources on sociological aspects of later adulthood.
Using the      Internet and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services link in the      resources, research agencies in your local community (Miami, Florida,      USA) that support the issues and concerns of the older population.
Note the      services provided by these agencies and any gaps you see. Consider what      improvements might be made to existing services as well as opportunities      for new services to be added.

By Day 01/23/2022
Submit a 3- to 4-page paper in which you do the following:

Identify      three agencies in your local community that support individuals in later      adulthood.
Provide an      overview of the services each provides.
Identify the      service gaps you notice.
Explain how      to improve existing services to address these gaps.
Describe      services that should be added to better serve this population and explain      why.

Use the Learning Resources to support your analysis. Make sure to provide APA citations and a reference list.

Chapter 16 Summary The following summarizes this chapter’s content as it relates to the learning objectives presented at the beginning of the chapter.
LO 1 Summarize the specific problems faced by older people and the causes of these problems. People 65 and older now make up more than one-tenth of the U.S. population and are the fastest-growing age group in our society. Older people tend to encounter a number of problems in our society: low status, lack of a meaningful role, an emphasis on youth, health problems, inadequate income, in-adequate housing, transportation problems, elder abuse, malnutrition, crime victimization, emotional problems (particularly depression), and concern with circumstances surrounding dying. Most older people depend on the Social Security system as their major source of income, but monthly payments are inadequate.
LO 2 Describe the current services to meet these problems and identify gaps in these services. Programs for older adults include Old Age, Survi-vors, Disability, and Health Insurance; Supplemen-tal Security Income; Medicare; Prescription Drug Assistance for Seniors; Medicaid; food stamps; Adult Protective Services; Meals on Wheels; senior citizen centers; day care centers; nursing homes; as-sisted-living facilities; group homes; and many addi-tional programs. There are a number of gaps in services. Some
older persons reside in substandard nursing homes, some have serious unmet health needs, and some are living in poverty.
LO 3 Understand the emergence of older people as a significant political force in our society. Older people are often politically active, and many have organized to work toward improving their sta-tus. As a result, many new programs have been cre-ated in recent years, and the rate of poverty among this age group has been decreasing in recent decades.
LO 4 Describe a proposal to provide older people with a meaningful, productive social role in our society. In order to provide older people with a produc-tive, meaningful role in our society, they should be encouraged to work (either in paid work or as vol-unteers) as long as they are productive and have an interest in working to maintain their standard of liv-ing. Older people benefit substantially from continu-ing to be productive, and society benefits also from their productivity.
COMPETENCY NOTES The following identifies where Educational Policy (EP) competencies and behaviors are discussed in the chapter.
EP 6a. Apply knowledge of human behavior and the social environment, person-in-environment, and other multidisciplinary theoretical frameworks to engage with clients and constituencies
EP 7b. Apply knowledge of human behavior and the social environment, person-in-environment, and other multidisciplinary
Copyright theoretical frameworks in the analysis of assessment data from clients and constituencies. (All of this chapter.) The content of this chapter is focused on social work students acquiring both of these behaviors in work-ing with older persons.
EP 8b. Apply knowledge of human behavior and the social environment, person-in-environment, and other multidisciplinary theoretical frameworks in interventions with
clients and constituencies (pp. 722–723) Content is presented on the roles social workers should assume in intervening with older people.
EP 5a. Identify social policy at the local, state, and federal level that impacts well-being, service delivery, and access to social services;
EP 5c. Apply critical thinking to analyze, formulate, and advocate for policies that advance human rights and social, economic, and environmental justice. (pp. 724–726) Material is presented on analyzing, formulating, and advocating for policies that advance social well-being for older persons.
EP 1 Demonstrate Ethical and Professional Behavior (pp. 708, 711, 713–714, 721, 726) Ethical questions are posed.

The Understanding of Media Psychology Discussion Responses

In need of a response/discussion to each of the following forum posts. Agreement/disagreement/and/or continuing the discussion.Original forum discussion/topic post is as follows:This week we are learning about Media Psychology. Dr. Pamela Rutledge describes Media Psychology as “understanding the interaction of people and media technologies in the context of the current culture.”In this forum, discuss the following:Forum post #1What is the value of media psychology in our society? After reading Rutledge (2019) I am beginning to understand the concept of media psychology. I appreciated the author’s (Rutledge, 2019) explanation of a field that is rather inexplicable. I have chosen ‘Selfies/Positive Psychology’ for the first week’s paper topic because of the role online photographs play in modern society. Rutledge (2019) described how media psychology seeks to answer whether or not technology positively or negatively affects people, no matter what the person’s age. According to Rutledge (2019), media technology, and by association media psychology, have no beginning or end because both fields are in a constant state of flux. I had read reports concerning people who took selfies of everything they did and posted most of them online. I always thought that behavior pattern seemed just a bit vain, and although some empirical studies seem to support that thinking, researching scholarly journals for the Selfies paper has shown a very different trend. This is where the value of media psychology is most pronounced. Disproving outdated research into the effects of technology on human function, behaviors, and thinking provides clarity for all people, not merely psychologists. What are three examples of how media psychology impacts our society?Media is a broad term encompassing multiple technologies (Rutledge, 2019). Psychology is a broad term encompassing multiple theoretical perspectives (Rutledge, 2019). Each of these impacts society in profound ways. Technology changes rapidly. Psychological theorizing does, as well. Media psychology combines these and creates a new field of study into the connections, implications, and effects of technology on society. Nuwer (2019) discovered that few places remain untouched by internet technology globally. She (Nuwer, 2019) believes that signals reach many of the most remote wilderness areas today. Technology has firmly claimed its place in nearly all of society. Helping technology users understand change, holding journalists accountable when using sensationalist writing, and assuring new technology users that much of what they read is often inaccurate or embellished are ways in which media psychology impacts society (Rutledge, 2019). I am old school. I like hard-copy textbooks. It took a significant amount of time to adjust to courses with online only required reading materials. Sometimes I still feel inadequate without a book to hold for quick reference. Media psychology will help others like me make that adjustment, too.Forum post #2 Media psychology deals with comprehending the interactions between individuals, groups, society and Technology in such way that they would make senses out of them. Media psychology refers to a psychology that focuses on media and human behavior as a whole. For example: nowadays scientists are building up technologies that are really magically exciting to use. The new Computing system and the new technology have been taking over practical works and this is something outstanding. Media and human behavior is Interactive; either that it could relate relatively to each other because human builds technology and human uses technology. Media psychology impacts the psychology of emotion, expression and attention. The psychology of emotion could be affected because if a person is emotionally disturbed, they would not be able to interact in a media system. The media requires people being able to act normally rather than being psychologically Disturbed. In the media system, actors should be able to express feelings when required and when shoting movies. It is also important to be able to pay attention and know when someone supposed to act out as required. Forum post #3We live in an era where the media and technology influence nearly aspect of our lives. We have the world at our finger tips and the ability to learn or do anything almost instantly through the use of technology. As our society has an increased expectations of peoples ability to do things and learn things (because “everyone can watch a YouTube video on How To”). This expectation for people has already increased with the use of media. We see it all the time in the stories of “average Janes saves 30 orphans from burning building, and goes back to get 12 kittens”. These are expectations people learn to compare themselves to because that is was society and the media is showing them. One example I will give about the influence of media and it’s effect on people and psychology has to do with working with children in the foster care system. As a Guardian Ad Litem (Court Appointed Special Advocate) I learn about the most gruesome details of child abuse and neglect cases that lands them in the system. Unfortunately, many of these cases end up in the news. However, the cases that the news reports, never seem to quite match up with the factual case file I have in front of me. The media skews the story to attract more viewers and pull at the emotional heart strings of people. These cases end up entirely misrepresented because media took one fact and ran with it, making up the rest. While my example of the media may seem quite cynical and negative, I do believe that there is some value to the media. There are times when using psychology in media can help tailor advertising to find the right audience. Ultimately this can be a good thing because it helps show new products and things to people who might like them. I think having media psychology does bring value to society. When we are able to study the media and bring the perspective of a psychologist to the table it can help find a balance between a social science and the media. Being able to understand the psychology of people and the reasoning they choose can influence the way that the media goes about their publications. Sometimes people aren’t even aware of the insight they are using with the media. For example, when someone wants to evoke certain emotions in an advertisement, they might use certain colors, and show particular examples, even public figures that are popular at the time. By doing this people are able to more effectively influence others. My question to my classmates this week is: What are ways that you think media psychology might be influencing you and your family? How might this be different in another culture?I look forward to reading everyone’s post this week and getting started on another great semester!

Organization Security Responses

Discussion Question: Discuss the pros and cons of security’s role of security in an organization (any type of organization will do). Based on the following key discussion points:How security should fit into the scope of a mission, be it war-fighting, profit making, etc? Security in the civilian world has undergone many changes in the years since 9/11. Prior to 9/11  many organization looked at Security Officers and  as necessary “expense” evil in the operation and often times  the departments were underfunded with low paying  jobs. Organizations many times contracted out to “guard “ companies.  The technology and mission of the departments were often limited by the amount of resources the organization was willing to make available. . Specifically discuss the roles and responsibilities of the Security Director or Chief Security Officer (CSO). The daily roles and responsibilities of these positions are very different from one industry to the next.  The Security Director in one company might only have over site over traditional services provided by security, while others might include several other service lines.  Large health care  organization that have a CSO , like the Cleveland Clinic ,  often times will include a Chief Security Officer that over sees, Parking services, background checks, ID badging , Key control, Technical security , the Police department, the security services department, VIP protection/ inspection department and global security services.  The size of the organization and the number of employees / contractor working for the organization play an important part in the organization chart. As the CSO, the leader is required and charged with ensuring the safety of the employees, contractors, patients and family members.  In addition to protecting human resources he or she, is responsible with providing protection to the organization infrastructure and its assets.CSO positions have become newer additions to the organizational charts in many industries. In the past, Security Directors were the top positions in this field. However, as safety and security have increase in importance across the board, senior leadership and administrator have seen the value of have Security at the table when discussions are held at the highest level. CSO does typically have a direct line on responsibility and communication with the CEO of the organization. In the past, Security Directors reported to operation Vice- Presidents or the COO, and relied heavily on them to communicate concerns to the CEO.  The change has provided the top security person to communicate directly with the top leader in the organization. Security (and the consideration of security) should always be at the forefront of planning any mission, be it in a military, business, or other situation. Whether the assets of an organization are structural, financial, or its personnel, the protection of those assets is paramount. From a military perspective, security is the most important element to a mission. As an Infantryman I was taught that not only should we always be considering security, but also that a security plan must be emplaced before other elements of the operation can go ahead. While Infantry operations are quite different to those in corporate America, similarities can be drawn. When considering security, risk management principles come into play. This happens in all aspects of our lives, albeit in different levels of importance and potential risk. By assessing risk we can implement the proper security measures to ensure that our organization’s assets are protected. I was reminded of the necessity of conducting risk assessments and always considering security while reading the Hammes piece on working with partner nations. Just recently two soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division were killed in an insider (or “green-on-blue”) attack while working with Afghan forces in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Hammes (2015) cites certain factors that can lead to potentially dangerous situations for our forces such as endemic corruption, infighting, and poor pay. Meanwhile, the author also seems to be of the mind that the Afghan forces need the assistance and mentoring of US and allied forces. It is situations like this that highlight the need for both security-mindedness and risk assessments if these types of operations are to go ahead in the future. The Chief Security Officer (CSO) is the executive level position that deals with security matters in a corporation. With his or her team of security professionals, the CSO is responsible for the safety and welfare of those in the organization. The ASIS Guideline (2004) states that the CSO should be at the executive level in order to have the “ability to influence business strategy and address matters of internal risk exposure” (p. 4). With the CSO operating at the executive level he or she should be able to relate security matters to the other decision makers in the organization. Without having the CSO at this level potential security measures could be overlooked or disregarded. The ASIS Guideline (2004) goes on to state that the main responsibilities of the CSO include functions such as strategy development, risk assessment, organization preparedness, incident prevention, incident response, and more. While the CSO may not be conducting all of these operations on their own, it is their responsibility to ensure that these functions are carried out properly and that the security operations that are emplaced throughout the organization are sufficient to mitigate risk and also fit into the plans and budget of the organization. The CSO should be able to nest the plans and objectives of the security program into the strategic goals of the organization in an effort to further its success.ReferencesASIS International. (2004). Stake and Stakeholder from an Individual Perspective Discussion

IntroductionWelcome to Unit 1, Introduction to Business and Society. In this unit, we will explore the interrelationships between business and society, including the tensions that exist between various stakeholders and the growing pressures to approach business with a sense of corporate responsibility and sustainability as primary underlying influences. With regards to the rapidly changing technologies and expanding globalization, it is imperative to strategize business decisions with far greater insight and conscientiousness than ever before. As you navigate through the unit (using the arrows), make sure you click on the different links, read through the content, and watch the videos. Consider any parts that are unclear to you, and make note of them in your learning journal.Stop what you are doing and take a minute to look around you. What do you see? Perhaps you see your living room, where you’re sitting at your desk doing your homework. You might be at a local coffee shop, hanging out with some friends who are going to help you study. Or maybe you’re sitting on the beach, reading this on your tablet or phone while you listen to the sounds of the ocean and children playing in the sand. Now, look around again but this time consider everything within your view and ask yourself what all of these things have in common? If you said that they are all the product of business, then you’re right! How can that be, you ask? The products of businesses are everywhere, in everything we touch, we eat, we see, we smell, and we feel. Not always directly, of course, but in one way or another the evidence of a business is there. It’s like the air that we breathe—mostly invisible, but always present.View the presentation to learn more about business and society. It seeks to balance the advancement of human well-being with the conservation of our natural environment. The sustainability drive has led humanity to the era of sustainable development, which relates to the need to address environmental and social problems while we develop technologically and economically. The university, as a learning institution, is no exception in this journey. As you go embark through your educational journey at UoPeople, you will come across courses that have a focus on sustainability. Our hope is to provide you with the foundational knowledge to help you become more sustainably conscious within your future job and life in general. Take some time and review the sustainability module in the LRC. You might even want to unlock your Sustainability Badge. We often hear the words ‘sustainable’ and ‘sustainability’ in our daily lives. But what does sustainability mean? Watch the video to learn what sustainability means using scenarios from our daily lives. Pay attention to some of the basic changes to lifestyles and systems that can lead to a more sustainable society. Review the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to gain an overview of the 17 Goals for Sustainable Development, as defined by the United Nations. As you look over each of the goals, consider how your organization and/or community are affected by them.In this video, Professor Sachs discusses the role of profit-oriented business in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. As you watch the video, consider what things business managers should keep in mind in regards to SDGs, including how they can be used to help form the future world and economy, how they impact corporate responsibility and governance, and how they can be used in the creation of public-private partnerships (Sachs, 2019).The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EAP) has designed a framework called the E3: Economy, Energy and Environment to help communities, manufacturers, and manufacturing supply chains adapt and thrive in today’s green economy. The E3 Sustainability Tools page shows more than 60 tools/resources that E3 has assembled to help participants, stakeholders, and assessment teams address various area of improvement. Take some time to learn about the different tools. A Macroenvironment is the complete societal context within which the business organization exists, consisting of four parts :Pluralism is a distribution of power among society’s many different groups and organizations (Multiple Stakeholders and their interrelationships)Special-Interest society is one in which pluralism is pursued to an extreme: society is created and influenced by tens of thousands of groups, each with their own agendas (again, many stakeholders)A stake is an interest or share in an undertaking. A stakeholder is the person who has this interest or share. This interest may include a legal right, a moral right, or simply a strong concern for what they consider ethical or fair.Business criticism has led to business change and innovation.Explain the concepts of stake and stakeholder from your perspective as an individual. For example: what kinds of stakes and stakeholders do you have? How does this impact the decisions you make in your own life? Please be sure to use your own words (don’t just copy and paste from a website) and references your sources. Refer to the UoPeople APA Tutorials in the LRC for help with APA citations. It is your responsibility to respond to three classmates by providing comments, asking questions, or having a conversation about their main post. Feedback should be appropriate, meaningful, and helpful. For instance refer to how your own experience supports/contradicts the opinions developed by your peers. Ideas Relating to Characteristics in Leadership Discussion Response

I want a reply post to the below essay:Part-1:The different concepts of leadership characteristics are very well explained in relation to a goal-path theory by Shikhar Sarin and Gina Colarelli O’ Connor on the basis of a New Product Development (NPD) theory research team where out of the listed ones I opine that participative leadership is a very effective style of management leadership which are required for all successful teams in order to succeed in a very efficient manner. To become a good leader in reference to a team, the different individuals concerned can properly study the different kinds of theories involved in relation to the individual characteristic of one personality or style but basically it is believed that every leader of team has his own theory and style, he must be able to choose one of the best styles out of the available in order to attain successful and best results. Two major leadership styles are mentioned below out of which participative leadership is considered to be very effective:1) Participative Leadership: In view of the betterment of different teams, participative leadership is said to be considered very good as the team leader invites the involvement of different members in the process of decision-making. In addition to these attributes, the interaction and communication will be in an efficient way with their team members which thereby results in the betterment of the entire team.2) Directive Leadership: In this type of leadership, the leader organizes, plans in a proper manner and directs various activities to his different team members. Along with this, the team leaders give guidance to the team members on the basis of which the various team members are supposed to work on in order to approach the goal, achieve success and attain best results etc. for which the different team members perform well under this type of leadership but still there is only one drawback under this where they always look along for directions of the leader and cannot take independent decisions.By summarizing, it can be concluded as per me that different leaders have different personalities, perceptions and backgrounds. The leadership style used by the various leaders will vary depending on the team members he leads. Good Leaders always adjust their style and way of leadership to the situation and scenarios they are in, as well as on the teams they are leading.Part-2:In this article it is said that, to take initiation of leading a team, the leader of the team is to take the initiative in order to foster his group towards the goal or objective present and driven by him and also which is driven by a solid duty as well as conviction towards his strong set objective. As per this article it is also stated that he will reform himself into a powerful communicator to communicate his fundamental style to his colleagues in a very passionate manner also to have a vision in all the entire team takes up. It is also said in this article that where a pioneer might control his guiding style to perfect his colleagues by pervading all the essential data sources, he has the tendency to audit the data sources provided and confirm whether his/her colleagues are using the same style and concept in the correct way. Therefore, this style will improve the level of the colleagues and incentive in order to finish their occupations with certainty and effectiveness.

Risk (hipaa) | Education homework help

Risk Assessment Instructions WHAT Risk Assessment and Management are a key element of HIPAA compliance and ultimately contribute to protection of PHI and reducing the number of data breaches. This assignment is meant to: 1) Help you review basic information security practices in a personal context, and 2) Provide practice in presenting an analysis in a small number of briefing slides. You may find out there are some security habits you should work on, for your benefit and your future employers. As we’ve discussed, employees with less-than-perfect security habits are an important source of data breaches. It’s also very good experience to have to identify key findings from an analysis and think about how to present those findings, including identifying implications or recommendations based on the analysis. And PowerPoint is used so commonly in professional settings that practice in developing good slides is always valuable. HOW 1) Go through the Risk Assessment Checklist provided with this assignment and review what you are currently doing when using computers and other devices, and when accessing information by connecting to networks. Mark YES/NO for each question. 2) At the end of each section, add up the YES answers, and the NO answers. 3) At the end, add up all YES answers and NO answers across all sections, to give you a better picture of your practices overall. 4) Pretend your results represent a “typical employee” in an organization (i.e., as if all employees were surveyed and your results represent the most common responses on each item) and assess the results. Develop a briefing for the organization’s leadership on what you’ve learned about employee security habits and identify key implications/recommendations. • After viewing your checklist results based on your own security practices, if you find you already do virtually everything you should be on the checklist, you can still identify some implications and recommendations for your CEO. Just because the “typical employee” has strong habits does not mean there’s nothing to recommend for the organization to do moving forward. And bear in mind that even if a “typical employee” has strong security habits, that’s usually not the case for every employee. • Also, if there were items in the checklist that you didn’t understand, feel free to address that in your presentation if you think it’s significant. 5) There is no specific number of slides required for the PowerPoint.. Your organization’s senior leadership are busy people, but they also need to know what you’ve learned about employee security practices and what the organization should do based on that. A combination of visuals (e.g., tables and/or charts) and words is often most effective. What does the organization’s leadership need to know from your presentation? Also, are some of your recommendations a higher priority or more urgent than others? Is will help to learn if there’s anything you should improve in your habits, and more importantly to develop and present an analysis including implications/recommendations. SUBMIT 1) Submit your PowerPoint slides, via BB. 2) Submit your checklist as a Word file, via BB. 3) Please include your last name in each file name. DONE!

Assignment for week 4

Choose a disorder of childhood or adolescence.

Conduct a literature search on the chosen disorder.

Create an annotated bibliography.

Include a minimum of 5 peer-reviewed articles.

This is an assignment posted by the university, not by the instructor.

Basically, the university wants students to learn how to compile an annotated bibliography.

· First, find 5 different peer reviewed articles on one specific childhood disorder.

· Read the articles and provide a summary of what each article contains. This will result in 5 different summaries/annotations.

· An example can be found below.

· The purpose of an annotated bib is to give a person who is searching for materials for their research an idea of the content and whether they want to use the article for their work.

· Do not be confused by the term “literature review” that is used by the university. Just use the term “annotated bibliography”.

· You can expect the total assignment to result in a minimum of 1200 – 1500 words.

· Be sure to provide a complete APA reference for each of the 5 articles. The citation/reference must be accurate. Use the citation generator available on the UoP Library page.

· Each reference must be included at the beginning of each summary as shown in the example provided by the instructor. Therefore, no reference page is needed for this assignment.

Avoid deductions – state the purpose of the article.

Avoid deductions – make sure your citation is accurate and includes the author’s name and the

name of the journal along with all other data.

Avoid plagiarism – do not copy information from the article. Paraphrase.

Tips for this assignment:

Information from an abstract will not be sufficient for this assignment. You must read the peer-reviewed article in order to do the annotation.
Definitions …. https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/614/01/

An annotation is a summary and/or evaluation. Therefore, an annotated bibliography includes a summary and/or evaluation of each of the sources. Depending on your project or the assignment, your annotations may do one or more of the following.

Summarize: Some annotations merely summarize the source. What are the main arguments? What is the point of this article? What topics are covered? If someone asked what this article is about, what would you say? The length of your annotations will determine how detailed your summary is.
Assess: After summarizing a source, it may be helpful to evaluate it. Is it a useful source? How does it compare with other sources in your bibliography? Is the information reliable? Is this source biased or objective? What is the goal of this source?

ASU Management Life and Career Development Discussion Responses

I need a response to  the two discussion response question answer below:3.) Using your knowledge of the stages of life and career development, explain how the career issues of a 27-year old differ from those of a 45-year-old. What are the organizational implications of the issues you identified? Our text defines career development as an ongoing process by which individuals progress through a series of stages, each of which is characterized by a relatively unique set of issues, themes, and tasks (Werner, 2017, p. 436). A 27-year-old is in the early adulthood era and the entry life stage. During this era, the individual is striving to attain their goals and the desires of youth (Werner, 2017, p. 440). A 45-year-old is in the middle adulthood era and is in the transition phase. During this period, the individual is questioning their life structure (Werner, 2017, p.440). Greenhause developed a model that represents the career stages and is linked to age ranges. The four stages include: Occupational and Organizational Choice, Early Career, Midcareer, and Late Career (Werner, 2017, p. 443). The early career stage (ages 25-40) is where the individual is becoming established in a career and shows job satisfaction. In the midcareer stage (ages 40-55), the individual is reexamining his life based on choices made during the early career (Werner, 2017, p. 444).The developmental perspective on careers emphasizes continuity, the progressive dynamic of maturation and adaptation (Jepsen & Dickson, 2003). Life stages are segments of the life-span career, and developmental tasks are the socially normative, age-graded influences on behavior during each stage (Jepsen & Dickson, 2003). When differentiating between the stages of life and career development of someone who is 27 verses 45, gender is another element to consider when studying careers. Studies show that gender stereotypes have an affect on life and its opportunities, arguing that women’s work lives are more complex than men’s (Jepsen & Dickson, 2003). Unpredictable events can also influence careers between adolescent and adult career development, as well as rapid changes in the environment. If individuals use the facets of career motivation as a means to manage career development, they will have a greater chance of job satisfaction.Chapter 131.) Explain why management development is one of the most common HRD activities found in organizations today.Management development, an organization’s conscious effort to provide its managers with opportunities to learn, grow, and change, in hopes of producing over the long term a cadre of managers with the skills necessary to function effectively in that organization, is one of the most commonly offered approaches to HRD (Werner, 2017, p. 486-487). It is a very important element of HRD because it provides opportunity and growth for employees. Learning is also enhanced and provides employees with opportunities that will lead to organizational growth within the company. Management development activities prepare managers for the future and a way to ensure that there is continued growth is by developing programs that are regularly evaluated and modified as trends change (Werner, 2017, p. 495). Management development can be done internally or externally, but the overall objective is to enable managers to accomplish their jobs more effectively (Heathfield, 2019). It has been proven to be one of the best approaches for organizations when it comes to developing managers and broadening their knowledge in their position.

Sociology American Values Assessment Essay

I. Personal Inventory and Comparison to Group DataGuidelines:    (1) Personal Inventory of Values: Write a list of the 3 personal values that hold most importance to you.   (2) Compare the list using Berkeley University’s Survey Documentation and Analysis (GSS/SDA) data.   (3) Present your analysis  using the following organizational format:  1. Introduction: List your 3 most important values with a brief description of why they are important.  2. Body/Analysis: Describe trends or changes in those issues you have chosen from the data. Be sure to include the most recent data, preferably 2016 in your report. See the section on “presenting the analysis” below for more specific instructions.  3. Compare your values to survey findings from the GSS/SDA data for issues/behavior/activities that are relevant to your values. In what ways are these findings from a national sample of Americans relevant to your 3 values? 4. Summary: Present the highlights of your analysis or what you consider to be the major findings of your analysis.Note: Remember from SOCY100 that a variable is the social issue, activity, belief that we as sociologists are studying. There are two categories of variables: Independent Variables or Dependent Variables. In this assignment, the Year that the survey data were collected is the Independent Variable. You will be comparing changes in survey responses for specific issues, activities, or beliefs from year to year. These changes can represent “trends” over the course of the years in the table.II. To access Berkeley’s and analyze GSS/SDA data “: Repeat the process above to choose a variable/issue listed under Variant 2, Social Public Spending.Take time to familiarize yourself with the GSS/SDA site to become more comfortable with the data-sets. When navigating the data-sets and using the survey data be sure to note the date of each percentage for your paper.  Your analysis should be written in complete sentences like any other narrative. Please take time to familiarize yourself with the SDA website and current data available in the data sets. Data that stops in the 1980’s and 1990’s is dated and is not current. Data that is 20 to 30 years old and not updated to the 21st century does not provide information on current social trends or social change.III. Presenting your analysis:Analysis involves reporting percentages not raw numbers in the tables. You also need to provide the headings and sub-headings used in the database or the exact spelling of the variable/issue (example: NATENVIR) selected. Here are things to think about when analyzing the tables:Be sure to report the percentages for the most current year (2016) for each response category. To what extent have attitudes about public spending on the social issue chosen changed over the span of years the data were reported? Have they remained relatively the same, from year to year – within a few points for each response category of “too little”, “about right” or “too much”? Rather, have they fluctuated several percentage points between certain years? What social, political, and economic factors might explain either the stability or the fluctuation in the responses? How do these responses relate to your three personal values?
