After reading the eight stages of leading change in Kotter’s book Leading Change, think about each stage and how they relate to your own thoughts about being a change agent. Then, write a paper that reflects your understanding of each of the stages. Organize your paper in the following way:

• All papers must include a properly formatted cover page and separate reference page.
• A brief introduction to your paper.
• A heading for each stage beginning with Stage One: Creating a Sense of Urgency and continuing in the order Kotter presents the stages.
o Under each heading, include the following:
• A one paragraph description/summary of the stage. Remember to use proper citation for direct quotes.
• A paragraph on what this stage means to you in your change efforts. How do you view this particular change?
• Here you may reflect on your past experience going through a change process in your organization or if relevant, a change that happened in your personal life.
• Was attention paid to this stage? How would the change be different if it was or was not demonstrated?
• A conclusion to your paper that includes a thoughtful paragraph on:
o how you view Kotter’s model as a step-by-step, linear progression in leading change
o how this book has affected your view of leading change.
