Unfortunately, the people who need these drugs the most belong to demographics that cannot access or afford these medicines. Watch the movie, Dallas Buyer’s Club starring Matthew McConaughey. You can watch it on a variety of streaming services or on YouTube. This movie tells a story about how one man created a group to help people access medication that was not readily available or FDA approved. As a public health professional, we are supposed to support the FDA, CDC and other health-related government agencies which can make our career morally complicated. ————
