Why did The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) fail in its intervention in Libya?

This dissertation seeks to determine the reason why recent western military interventions in the middle east and north Africa have failed to secure the world and, on the contrary, made the world less safe and fuelled the rise of terrorism and military dissidence all over the world. Specifically, this dissertation will choose the first Libyan civil war of 2011 as the case study. In this thesis, the following questions will be raised
a. What are the root causes of the failure of NATO intervention in Libya?
b. What are the common reasons for the failure of western intervention in Libya, Afghanistan, and Iraq?
c. What are the real motives of western powers for these interventions?
d. What were the military’s intervention strategies in all these 3 cases?
