Whats the impact of racial discrimination against African American men and how can racial disparities be reduced in our criminal justice systems?
My Research question
I will be researching racial discrimination against African American menin the Criminal Justice system. What’s the impact of racial discrimination against African American men and how can racial disparities be reduced in our criminal justice systems? There is so much history of racial inequality repeating in a different generation of people of color, that is the reason why it is vital to have an in-depth understanding of racial discrimination in our justice system. Equality is an alleged part of the American system, but in reality, there are two different systems that are divided by race: black and white. For decades, fairness and equality have been reserved for only white people, whereas, people of color suffer from traumatizing experiences through marginalization and oppression. Racial discrimination against black men is a public health and economic crisis. Black men have a history of having the highest rate of incarceration in the prison system and are also more prone to racial profiling than other racial groups. As of today, government misconduct of racial disparity acts has been surfacing media platforms at a higher rate. Many Americans no longer trust government institutions which makes it harder to address and solve social problems. The government needs to understand the impact of racial discrimination against African American men because not only does it influence social inequality but also lacks government-citizen trust and impoverishes the economy. Also, you cant tackle a problem without knowing the impact to find strategies to reduce those repercussions or even influence change.
