(2) What is the main idea of the article?

(3) How does the author support or defend the main idea?

(4) Does the author show any bias? If so, how?

b) Take notes on the important points that are discussed.

Step 4) Develop a three- to four-paragraph summary of the article.

a) Your summary should be three to four paragraphs long and written in your own words.

b) The introduction should:

(1) identify the title, author, and source.

(2) identify the main idea.

c) The main body should:

(1) explain the most important points in the article.

(2) connect the article to what you learned in the lesson.

d) The conclusion should:

(1) note whether the author displayed any bias.

(2) give examples of any bias, if applicable.
