THE QUESTION IS – ‘HOW MANY QUESTIONS, AND WHAT TYPES OF QUESTIONS, DO CHILDREN ASK, AND HOW DOES THIS CHANGE OVER TIME?’ – THIS QUESTION OF COURSE IS BEST ANSWERED WITH NUMERICAL/QUANTITATIVE DATA TOO, AND ON AS MANY CORPUS TRANSCRIPTS AS FEASIBLE (USING FREQ OR OTHER CHILDES CORPUS COMMANDS RATHER THAN COUNTING BY HAND IN JUST A FEW)
SUGGESTED DATA – CHILDES SUBCORPUS Eng-UK/Lara (and/or the diary data in a subfolder of that corpus) – the childes data in this research question is merely a suggestion. Other corpora/data sources may also be appropriate.
