Consider the following scenario: ABC company has sold window blinds nationally for the last several years in their retail stores and online. One of customers’ most frequently asked questions is if they can refer a company to install the window blinds. ABC has decided to add this service to its portfolio. They are considering hiring staff as well as outsourcing this service.
Their key concern is managing service quality, as discussed in Chapter 9 of your text. ABC’s company plan is to implement the five determinants of service quality: reliability, assurance, tangibles, empathy, and responsiveness (the acronym is RATER).
