Dissertation Proposal
Despite the several changes experienced in the communities, education continues to be the most important and powerful force for people and increased collective transformation. Keleş & Özel (2016) cited that education is the main vehicle for starting, controlling, stabilizing or sustaining the environments impacted by the change. There are many forms of learning, however, distance education has gained increased interest among the general public, government and scholars (Petretto, Masala, & Masala, 2020).
The main objective of distance learning is to overcome the barriers of time and place among providers and students (Alliprandini, 2018). Most distance education institutions make good use of the available virtual learning environments (VLE) to enhance distance education plans, however, there are many challenges that deter institutions from achieving this objective. Therefore, the study focuses on the management of information systems for distance learning.

1.2. Research Motivation
Educational institutions are increasingly providing online teaching services to learners across the globe. There are many studies and researches about the online education systems. Less or no research has been conducted on management of information systems for distance learning to determine its potential, benefits, drawbacks, existing systems and risks factors.

1.3. Research Aim, Questions, and Objectives

To research the scope of management of information systems for distance education.
I. To determine the existing systems, challenges, roadmap for the development and evolution of distance learning.
II. To identify the educational areas or subjects with the highest potential for being implemented using the distance learning methodology.
III. To identify risks factors for creating, implementing and managing distance learning environments.
