Discourse Media Analysis

Choose a news or lifestyle/entertainment article to analyze using discourse. Your chosen article could be from a news source (print or online) or a magazine (print or online). It may include images alongside text, but this is not a requirement. You must include a copy of the article in your paper. Your essay should address the following questions: What is discourse and what theoretical tradition does it develop from? Why is discourse important for media studies? What is the discourse(s) being produced and circulated in the article? What types of knowledge(s) is the discourse(s) producing in the article? What is the regime of truth being constructed through this article?
