Can family hostility be used as an argument to void the family

Assume is Problem 18-51 (reproduced below) that Betty and Barney are not getting along and have separated due to marital discord (although they are not legally separated).  In fact, they cannot even stand to talk to each other anymore and communicate only through their accountant.  Betty wants to argue that she should not be treated as owning any of Barney’s stock in Bedrock because of their hostility toward each other.  Can family hostility be used as an argument to avoid the family attribution rules?  Consult Rev. Rul. 80-26, 1980-1 C.B. 66; Robin Haft Trust v. Comm., 510 F.2d.43 (CA-1 1975); Metzger Trust v. Comm., 693 F.2d 459 (CA-5 1982), and Cerone v. Comm., 87 TC 1 (1986).

Problem 18-51 – Bedrock Inc. is owned equally by Barney Rubble and his wife Betty, each of whom hold 1,000 shares in the company. Betty wants to reduce her ownership in the company, and it was decided that the company will redeem 500 of her shares for $25,000 per share on December 31 of this year. Betty’s income tax basis in each share is $5,000. Bedrock has current E&P of $10,000,000 and accumulated E&P of $50,000,000.

  1. Can family hostility be used as an argument to void the family attribution rules?
  2. Provide support, with proper citations, for your response
Explain how specific events have influenced the development of the identity of professional counselors

For this discussion, use the readings assigned in this unit and the information you found during your Internet research on the history of counseling. Prepare a post (250–300 words) that outlines the history of counseling.

How have the history and philosophical foundations of counseling contributed to current trends and professional issues in counseling?

· Explain how specific events have influenced the development of the identity of professional counselors.

· Analyze the evolution of the key philosophies of wellness, resilience, and prevention.

· Summarize the historical events that contributed to the development of your counseling specialization.

Note: Up until this point, you have been primarily using first person when responding to discussions and assignments. This was appropriate because you were generally discussing your opinions about the subjects. This discussion, however, calls for an academic analysis of the literature on a subject. You will be expected to use the conventional academic third-person form when writing this post. Instead of expressing your own opinions, you will be supporting your analysis referencing the research and expertise of others. For more information on this style of academic writing, review the Campus resource Writing in Third Person (given in the resources)

Describe the issue and provide evidence to support any conclusions or recommendations

Scenario

Wanda thinks the domestic market has been flooded with start-up companies offering gourmet dog biscuits. But she believes that perhaps she has a real opportunity to grow her business by participating in the global market. She has heard of other small businesses “going global,” but she isn’t sure what that would entail.

Your Task

Conduct research on taking Salty Pawz into the global economic environment, into a global market and then present your research to Wanda detailing what it would take for her business to go global.

Begin by identifying four key issues Wanda should consider before expanding Salty Pawz globally, using global business issues discussed in the text for this course as your reference. It may be helpful for you to think about these four issues as major questions that will need to answered in order for Wanda to make a sound business decision on whether or not to take Salty Pawz global. For example, does Wanda need to consider cultural issues because not every culture has the same attitude toward pets as people in the United States do? Are there legal restrictions on exporting food products to certain countries or restrictions on their import in the destination country?

For each issue present the following:

  • Describe the issue and provide evidence to support any conclusions or recommendations that you give Wanda—your evidence could also serve as resources that Wanda could use to learn more about each of the issues.
  • Explain why each of the four issues is important and the implications they have for Salty Pawz. Be sure to address the characteristics, opportunities, and challenges of operating a business in the global economic environment.
  • Provide resources where Wanda can learn more information about the issue, so she will be prepared beyond the introduction you have shared. You should point her to other sources and/or Web sites and explain how each one is important and can help her.

In addition to using information provided in the text, your research should include other articles and sources as evidence to support your explanations. For example, you may find related evidence in the following external

submit a paper on Scientific and/or Mathematical/Analytical perspectives of inquiry

Search and Evaluate

This week, you will find three scholarly, peer-reviewed research articles on your topic. Remember that next week you will submit a paper on Scientific and/or Mathematical/Analytical perspectives of inquiry, so use this week’s assignment to prepare materials and collect information for that purpose.

Use articles that will help you explain and describe scientific issues and/or statistical data or economic information related to your topic. You will analyze and evaluate these articles in your submission, which should include:

  • A brief introductory paragraph.
  • Three separate paragraphs, one for each of the three articles, each presenting:
    • A brief 3–4 sentence summary of the article (use in-text citations)
    • An explanation as to what makes this source credible (in the WCU Library go to Research Guides > Research Basics > Evaluating Resources)
    • An explanation of why the article will be useful in addressing your problem or issue
  • A brief conclusory paragraph
  • An APA Style reference list on a separate page

Your paper should be 1–3 pages in length (including the References page). Adhere to APA Style throughout.

Review the rubric for further information on how your assignment will be graded.

Do you think that one day we will be able to study the formation and storage of memory objectively?

Reply to:

I thought that when you mentioned how in earlier times, behaviorists opposed internal events like thinking since they cannot be observed publicly and termed them as unobjective it’s very important to touch upon because it shows how much has changed in terms of what can be considered objective and subjective. Through cognitive psychology, it has been concluded that “isolated brain damage (biology) could affect behavior (psychology)” (Gazzaniga et al., 2019, p. 6). As you mentioned, memory, attention, and problem-solving are things that are not easily observable, if at all, but they are as important as studying behavior when it comes to understanding others. Do you think that one day we will be able to study the formation and storage of memory objectively?

Ethics has been broadly defined as concerning certain issues or situations as being fair/unfair, right/wrong, or just/unjust

Ethics has been broadly defined as concerning certain issues or situations as being fair/unfair, right/wrong, or just/unjust according to the values adopted by a given culture or society. These values act as the acceptable standards developed and nurtured by society. As societies have developed and become more knowledge-oriented and socially alert, the need for social responsibility has increased. According to Davis and Blomstrom (1975), social responsibility is “the obligation of decision makers to take actions which protect and improve the welfare of society as a whole along with their own interests” (p. 39).

IDENTIFY the top five (5) ethical issues confronting your field of study(Business Management). After you have briefly addressed each ethical issue, then rank them according to the literature in your field of study and/or by the importance placed upon them by the current media. As you rank them, please document your sources and justification for the ranking.

Finally, ANALYZE each ethical issue according to its impact on the field, relevance to the current and future stakeholders in the field, and make any and all recommendations for improving such ethical issues, situations or dilemmas that impact your field of study. During this analysis, please consider the issue of social responsibility and how leaders in your field have addressed these ethical issues.

If you believe Akhenaten’s utopian vision was not an attempt to rule the world, please explain.

Many scholars believe Akhenaten was a autocrat who wanted to rule the world, and his poetry reveals his attempt.  How does the “Hymn to the Sun,” a seemingly religious praise to Aten or God, help him promote himself to pharaoh of the world?

If you believe Akhenaten’s utopian vision was not an attempt to rule the world, please explain.
