Asthma is a respiratory disorder that affects children and adults.

Asthma is a respiratory disorder that affects children and adults. Advanced practice nurses often provide treatment to patients with these disorders. Sometimes patients require immediate treatment, making it essential that you recognize and distinguish minor asthma symptoms from serious, life-threatening ones. Since symptoms and attacks are often induced by a trigger, advanced practice nurses must also help patients identify their triggers and recommend appropriate management options. Like many other disorders, there are various approaches to treating and managing care for asthmatic patients depending on individual patient factors.

One method that supports the clinical decision making of drug therapy plans for asthmatic patients is the stepwise approach, which you explore in this Assignment.

  • Reflect on drugs used to treat asthmatic patients, including long-term control and quick relief treatment options for patients. Think about the impact these drugs might have on patients, including adults and children.
  • Consider how you might apply the stepwise approach to address the health needs of a patient in your practice.
  • Reflect on how stepwise management assists health care providers and patients in gaining and maintaining control of the disease.

Create a 5- to 6-slide PowerPoint presentation that can be used in a staff development meeting on presenting different approaches for implementing the stepwise approach for asthma treatment. Be sure to address the following:

  • Describe long-term control and quick relief treatment options for the asthma patient from your practice as well as the impact these drugs might have on your patient.
  • Explain the stepwise approach to asthma treatment and management for your patient.
  • Explain how stepwise management assists health care providers and patients in gaining and maintaining control of the disease. Be specific.

From quick conversations to phone calls, meetings, formal presentations, and sales pitches, you must always employ effective verbal communication skills. While verbal interactions are extremely common, they can also be stressful. Every interaction contains the potential for success—and the danger of failure. To be “on your game” always requires purposeful practice, reflection, and adjustment based on input and feedback. No matter what your verbal communication skills are, you can improve them.

In this assignment, you will develop and deliver a 5-minute presentation. This verbal communication should match the challenge or opportunity topic that you wrote about for your Week 4 outline and Week 8 Assignment.

Note: For the purposes of this course, your presentation should not exceed 5 minutes. (Your communication proposal might require a much longer presentation, but limit your response to the key 5 minutes in this case.) Imagine that you are before your target audience and pitching the idea.

Instructions

  1. Prepare your presentation:
    1. Write a script for your presentation using feedback from Assignment 2, considering your 5-minute limit. The script should include:
      1. An engaging introduction. Start with an impactful opening story, statistic, or statement.
      2. The key message and support for the key message. Include five or more compelling stories, statistics, or facts, using sources to meet the goals and needs of the audience. enough information to support your argument.
      3. Present a clear and actionable call to action, using a strong action verb, at the appropriate time in the presentation.
      4. POWERPOINT WITH SPEAKING NOTES.
Analyzing group techniques

Group therapy can alleviate feelings of isolation and foster a supportive and collaborative environment for sharing difficult feelings in order to facilitate healing. For many people, being part of a group that has a shared understanding of a struggle provides a unique opportunity to gain understanding of their own experiences.

As you examine one of the group therapy demonstrations from this week’s Learning Resources, consider the role and efficacy of the leader and the reasons that specific therapeutic techniques were selected.

You are the manager of Acme Fireworks, a fireworks retailer who sells fireworks, puts on ground display fireworks

Final Paper

You are the manager of Acme Fireworks, a fireworks retailer who sells fireworks, puts on ground display fireworks, and large aerial display fireworks. The company started in the owner’s garage two years ago and now has 15 employees that you manage. The company started as a sole proprietorship, and the owner has never changed the entity. The owner has informed you that the company has received inquiries from several large businesses wondering if the company could create several fireworks displays on a regular basis. The owner told the inquirers that the company could fill such display orders, and a price per display was agreed upon. It was discussed that most of the cost for a fireworks display is for skilled labor, insurance, and the actual service of setting off the fireworks. No other details were discussed. The owner is anticipating that new employees will need to be hired, but he is worried that if the large orders for fireworks displays do not continue, the company will not have the funds to pay the new employees. The owner is now considering changing the business entity, but he does not know what entity to form or how to form it.

The owner has asked you to do the following:

  • Determine if the contracts with the businesses will be governed by common law or the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), and explain why.
  • Analyze whether the owner formed a contract with the businesses, and apply the five essential elements of an enforceable contract.
  • Explain the potential personal liability to Acme Fireworks if a spectator is injured by a stray firework from a fireworks display.
  • Discuss the different employment types and relationships relevant to agency law, and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each type specific to Acme Fireworks.
  • Explain why Acme Fireworks should not operate as a sole proprietorship. Recommend a new business entity, and provide rationale to support your recommendation.

For each task, be sure to analyze the relevant law, apply the facts to the law, and make a conclusion.

Theory and the real world

Research serves as a guide by which to study, describe, and quantify an array of social and physical phenomenon. Theory, which is best described as a set of propositions or hypotheses that specify the relationship among a subset of variables, serves as a way of offering an intellectualized general commentary on that which is observed. Using material found in Chapter 3 of this week’s required reading, describe how theory is applicable to a research study. Answer the questions:

  • How does theory inform a research study?
  • How can a generalized theory remain timely enough to be applicable to new or innovative studies?

Your initial post should be at least 400 words in length. Support your claims with examples from the required material(s) and/or other scholarly resources, and properly cite any references.

· Complete this writing covering both theories – present the histories, main ideas, examples of how they explain deviant behaviors, etc.

· Compare and contrast the two theories.

· Create your own example of deviance and apply both theories to your example.

· Using your example, identify which social work interventions you could use to help the person in need.

The Length of expectation is 6 pages excluding cover page, abstract and reference page(if you are covering all topics in the directions, you should have no issues meeting this minimum requirement). APA format is required. Please use headings through out your work so that each required section is easily identified.

Mass communication is all around us.

Mass communication is all around us. But, the context in which we interact with mass media directly impacts the message. Context in communication is the circumstances surrounding the communication or in other words the setting of the communication that is taking place.  Contexts can be physically based, for example your place of employment or with friends at a coffee shop. For example, the way your business might use social media is different than the way you and your friends use social media at the coffee shop.   Contexts can also be temporal or based in time.  For example, advertisements that are considered appropriate now, would not be allowed back in the 1960’s. Context can also be culturally based meaning appropriate communication in one culture is not always the same as another.

Just as there are different kinds of context, there are also many different mediums of communication that can be used within each context.  Mediums are methods of delivering communication.  Mass Media are the many different mediums for delivering Mass Communication.  For this assignment you will be choosing a specific context and then telling us about how Mass Media is used in that context.

In this assignment, you will create a PowerPoint presentation as if you were going to present it to an audience. In the presentation, you will distinguish between mass communication and mass media. You will choose either a personal context or a professional context and look at how mass media is used in that context now as well as consider how it will be in used in the future.

To prepare for this Application:

By Day 7

Create a 5-slide PowerPoint presentation. You should create this as if you were giving a class presentation on the topic.  The slides should have short bullets and graphics as PowerPoint is a visual medium. Everything that you would say to give the presentation should be written out in your speaker notes.  Speaker notes should go in the notes section under each PowerPoint slide.  All sources used should be cited in your slides and in your speaker notes.  Each slide should include the following:

  • Slide 1 – Title Slide – Please indicate your chosen context here
  • Slide 2 – What are Mass Communication and Mass Media?
  • Slide 3 – How is Mass Media currently used in your chosen context?
  • Slide 4 – How do you see Mass Media being used in the future in your chosen context?
  • Slide 5 – Bibliography

Please Note: For the presentation, be sure to reference at least one scholarly or popular source to support answer
Refer to the Week 1 Assignment Rubric for specific grading elements and criteria. Your Instructor will use this Grading Rubric to assess your work.
