BUSINESS INFO:

My 4Ps of Concrete Rose
1. Product: Services offered at the Concrete Rose, such as massages, facials, body treatments, nails, and toes etc. I want the people who come to have full services and be able to do so much in one spot. This way I can maximize the profit by having so many services done at my spa. I would have a product line available to be purchased for everything as well. Then as the business grows I will want to start my own product lines and sell them out of the business as well.
2. Price: The cost of the services offered.
Massage: $75 to $200, depending on the length and the type of methods you select
Facial: $60 to $150 and up (masks, serums, and special eye treatments are usually an additional charge)
Manicure and pedicure: $75 to $150
Hair Styling: $50 to $200 and up
Makeup application: $25 to $75
3. Promotion: Advertising and marketing activities to promote the spa and its services. I would create a spa package that can start at $150 for two or more services and go up to about $450 for a few hours of special treatment. I will offer affordable all-day treatments, the prices can go as high as $750 or more for a full day filled with an array of indulgences and healing treatments that are sure to make my clients happy. I want to have a spa club that can get clients up to 50% off of a service or money off products. I will advertise by billboards and in mailers at the apartments and in the mail. Fliers that offer half-off days a few times a month. And promos for new clients.
4. Place: The physical location of the spa, will be near a very popular housing area in Brandon Florida. There are many places located near apartments and housing neighborhoods. I want the spa to be visually appealing to people who pass going from work and home. And with my location being near home. I can have a lot more people who are within walking distance.

Data Reliability There are vast quantities of consumer data available today. For example, every time you use your grocery store loyalty card, data about what you purchased is collected, analyzed, and saved. These data in the hands of population health professionals can contribute to the creation of healthy lifestyle programs. However, the same data in the hands of health insurance plans could lead to higher insurance costs or denial of insurance. Should there be regulations on how these consumer data are used?

Explain, in your own words what cultural relativism is. How does this differ from ethical relativism?

Instructions:
Read the chapter in the Polman book on Relativism (chapter 3) and then answer the following questions.

1. Explain, in your own words what cultural relativism is. How does this differ from ethical relativism? (pp. 48–49)

2. What is the difference between the weak dependency thesis for ethical relativism,
and the strong dependency thesis? (pp. 50–51)

3. What, according to Pojman, is one of the benefits of accepting relativism (think in terms of the claims
being made in the chapter about tolerance with respect to conventional relativism). What is the problem
with claiming that ethical relativism entails tolerance? (pp. 55)

4. Explain the differences between the two types of ethical relativism: subjectivism and conventionalism.
Are you inclined to agree with one of these theories, or do you reject the idea that morality is relative?
Why or why not? (pp. 52–59)

5. One of the consequences of accepting the theory of ethical relativism is that we might be forced to
tolerate the actions of other cultures, even if they are in serious conflict with the moral standards of our culture.
This is especially problematic when you think about the actions of a person such as Hitler.
It is possible that a consequence of accepting the truth of ethical relativism would be that we have to be tolerant
of the actions of people like Hitler. Do you think this is one of the consequences of accepting ethical relativism?
And, if you are inclined to agree with relativism, are you okay with this consequence: that we have to tolerate
the action of people like Hitler? Why or why not? (pp. 56)
