The economic growth and trade competitiveness of countries can be influenced by the economic, political, and cultural development within the country. There are several countries that can be compared to see how a successful economy’s decisions differed from a less-successful economy.
Step 1: Select Economies
Review the pairs of economies listed below. Each pair has 1 highly successful country and 1 less successful country, except for NAFTA /EU.

NAFTA vs. European Union (world’s two largest economic entities)
China vs. India (world’s two most populous countries)
South Korea vs. North Korea (two polar economic opposites, one people)
Venezuela vs. Saudi Arabia (world’s two largest sources of oil reserves)
Nigeria vs. Democratic Republic of the Congo (functioning government and civil order vs. struggling government and violent clashes among factions; note: the Republic of the Congo is not the same country as the Democratic Republic of the Congo)

The superhero Mercurious is 864 m from the base of the building, at (x, y) = (0, 0), when he sees Professor Mayhem release the bomb. Technology can have a downside, particularly when it removes jobs, reduces local responsibility, ignores local relationships and produces worse outcomes. How many jobs do you think we have created over the past 10 years that have been switched to technology thus human workers?

1. The advantages to human servcies being available online are that it makes it more accessible to those who may not have time to spend all day waiting at a social service office for assistance. It also helps because some of them offer pre-screening and allow you to see if you qualify for the service in a short time frame once again circumventing the long waits in person or on the phone associated with social service departments. Disadvantages are that most things online are done without assistance from someone who knows what they’re doing so if you’re confused you will have to either email and wait up to 72 hours for a response or call and wait for hours on hold for help. There’s also only so much that can get done and most social services require a human to look over what you have filled out online and make a decision so it hasn’t cut the wait out of the process overall.

3. I feel like there are more advantages than disadvantages to technology in human service delivery. One of the advantages is during covid, if a loved one was ill or in the hospital, in a nursing home, etc. their family members still had a way to contact them and see them. Video chats, text messages, phone calls. There’s also Life360 which is an app that you can keep track of family through and make sure they are okay at all times. One disadvantage though, is that with technology, comes hackers. Your personal information can be hacked and spread publicly if you aren’t super careful. Thankfully, most technology and applications make that super hard to do.

My name is Yazmillie Fuentes and I was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico and raised in a small town named Cayey. I lived with my mother, maternal grandmother, brother, cousins and aunt. Although my mother divorced my dad when I was 1 year old, her accomplishment in becoming a business woman became my inspiration. Juggling between furthering my career, my wonderful four children and grandson has been my pride. However, it has also been a challenge that I have been trying to overcome, In spite of that, I know that I have the drive and ambition to keep moving forward. Being determined and setting goals for my future has always been a part of my personal experience. The field of Psychology caught my attention when I was in high school and I had taken an elective class in the tenth grade. I instantly felt the passion and I knew that this would someday be my career.  I had my first son when I was sixteen-years old, and my second when I was seventeen-years-old. I worked a full-time job while also attending college. With the help of my marvelous mother and cousin, I was able to complete my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Within four years I received my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and in 2007, I graduated from the University of Turabo in Puerto Rico. I made the decision to move to Florida in 2007, to provide a better life for myself and my children. I prevailed through the hardships of the language barrier. I had to find a way to adjust with limited job openings during that time. I was able to find a job in a daycare facility as a teacher, where I discovered working with children and helping families were also my passion. Also, during this period I got married and had two more children.

I once received a performance evaluation stating I was very detail-oriented, easy to get along with, and an effective communicator. However, the negative feedback that I received was that I am not stern enough, and allow staff too much autonomy. While I appreciated the positive feedback, I wasn’t quite sure what to do with the negative feedback. I did not know how to change my approach to staff without also affecting the very same positive feedback I received. It seemed to be conflicting. If I was the evaluator I wouldn’t have just written the feedback on a paper and asked someone to sign it. Instead, I would have pulled them to the side throughout the course of the performance review, and explained why a specific action can be interpreted as “not stern enough.” Additionally, if there were any follow-up questions in regards to the feedback, I’d be available for the discussion to occur, and I’d be prepared with suggestions, and or/ examples as to when the specific action occurred and how it could have been handled.
