Impulsivity, compulsivity, and addiction are challenging disorders for patients across the life span. Impulsivity is the inclination to act upon sudden urges or desires without considering potential consequences; patients often describe impulsivity as living in the present moment without regard to the future (MentalHelp.net, n.d.). Thus, these disorders often manifest as negative behaviors, resulting in adverse outcomes for patients. For example, compulsivity represents a behavior that an individual feels driven to perform to relieve anxiety (MentalHelp.net, n.d.). The presence of these behaviors often results in addiction, which represents the process of the transition from impulsive to compulsive behavior. In your role as the psychiatric nurse practitioner (PNP), you have the opportunity to help patients address underlying causes of the disorders and overcome these behaviors. For this Assignment, as you examine the client case study in this week’s Learning Resources, consider how you might assess and treat clients presenting with impulsivity, compulsivity, and addiction.Reference: MentalHelp.net. (n.d.). Impaired decision-making, impulsivity, and compulsivity: Addictions’ effect on the cerebral cortex. https://www.mentalhelp.net/addiction/impulsivity-and-compulsivity-addictions-effect-on-the-cerebral-cortex/

View a feature film made between 1940 – 1970 you have not seen before (or will see later in this class) by a great director. Many directors were active both before and after 1970 so make sure you see a pre-1970 FEATURE fiction film. Suggestion: American directors such as Frank Capra, George Cukor, John Ford, George Stevens, Preston Sturges, Billy Wilder, or William Wyler. Foreign directors such as Ingmar Bergman (Swedish), Luis Buñuel (Spanish), Claude Chabrol (French), Federico Fellini (Italian), Akira Kurosawa (Japanese), Lina Wertmuller (German) or the British team known as “The Archers” made up of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. For other possibilities, try: this. Comment on the specific film you saw in terms of its genre and the quality of the film itself. Pay attention to the camerawork (cinematography) the editing (montage) and the sound (including music). What did you like and what did you dislike? Why do you like the things you like, and why do you dislike the things you dislike? Finally, is the film successful in creating a work of fiction using the craft of filmmaking and considering when it was made?

Why do you like the things you like, and why do you dislike the things you dislike? Finally, is the film successful in creating a work of fiction using the craft of filmmaking and considering when it was made? (Note: This is not the same question as whether or not you liked it. It is entirely possible to like a film that you are aware is not very good.) Part 2: Draw some general conclusions about the work of the director and one of the main actors or actresses. For example let us say you watched the 1962 film Lawrence of Arabia. Did you like David Lean as a filmmaker? Explain your answer. Did you like Peter O’Toole in the role of Larwrence? Why, or why not? End with your overall impression of the film, including how you see it as an example of the its genre and time period. PARTS ONE AND TWO SHOULD BE PRESENTED AS A SINGLE ESSAY! Part 3: On a separate page, insert the heading “My Criteria for Quality in Film.” Under that heading, propose four general statements indicative of your personal taste in movies. These statements should be numbered (1) through (4), and they should be written as complete sentences or a short paragraph. For example, if you commented in your essay that you liked the acting because it was realistic and you liked the script because it had a happy ending, you could propose these two statements as criteria for quality: “(1) Excellent movies feature realistic acting. (2) A movie is more likely to be good if it ends happily.” Think about and then explain what words such as good, excellent, and effective actually mean.

In this section provide a brief description of where your company fits in its industry. What products do they sell? Who are their primary customers and suppliers? Who are their main competitors?

Business. In this section provide a brief description of where your company fits in its industry. What products do they sell? Who are their primary customers and suppliers? Who are their main competitors? 2. Industry. In this area provide a brief description of the industry outlook. Your primary resources here are some of the publications mentioned in chapter 5 of the Gibson textbook (e.g. Standard & Poors Industry Surveys Value Line Investment Survey etc.) as well as news articles (from publications such as The Wall Street Journal New York Times Washington Post and the Financial Times). You will need a different resource for each group member. I recommend that each one of the group members reviews a different industry publication and provides a summary industry description identifying where the information was obtained. 3. Complete the FR & Comparisons worksheet in the Comparison with Industry & Peers file based on the financial statements of your company “ you can find these statements approximately in the middle of your companys 10K reports (right after or before the independent auditors report). In the Modules 10K reports area I have posted the three latest 10K reports for each company which you will need for this assignment. Specifically you need to submit the following: a) The financial summary and ratio calculations using the formula sheet (all the areas that are highlighted in yellow). b) Perform trend analysis. Using the ratios that you calculated identify the areas that show improvement and the areas of potential concern. You can describe the trends in simple terms such as improving stable fluctuating etc. c) Under the RMA Norm column list the industry median values for the subject ratios (the ones highlighted in yellow). Then compare your ratios to the industry ones and indicate whether they are better/favorable worse/unfavorable or the same. d) Compare your companys ratios to the ratios of the other company in your group; what you need to do here is to rank the ratios for your companies for the most recent year i.e. 1 or 2 with 1 being the best. You can use the last column in this worksheet to present your comparisons. 4. For your company assuming an anticipated 10% sales increase in the following year calculate the following: a. Working Assets in the most recent year that you have data for. b. Working Liabilities in the most recent year that you have data for. c. Working Investment in the same year. d. Working Investment Factor in the same year. e. New Working Investment in the following year. f. What are the companys additional working investment needs in the upcoming year? g. Can the company cover these additional needs internally? If not how much it needs from external sources? It should be noted that items a through c have already been calculated in your worksheet but they should be shown again here for comparison purposes 5. For your company provide answers to the following questions: a. Why has leverage increased or decreased during this period? b. Is your company using debt efficiently? (Use the financial leverage index ratio) c. How well is your company covering fixed charges? (Use the times interest earned the fixed charge coverage and the cash flow adequacy ratios). 6. Review your companys cash flow statement. What are your companys major cash inflows and outflows? What are their sources of cash? Where do they invest it? 7. Consider your companys Return on Equity ratio (ROE=Net Profit/Total Equity). What is the trend during this period? As developed by DuPont and shown below: ROE = (Net Profit/Total Sales) x (Total Sales/Total Assets) x (Total Assets/Total Equity) or ROE = Net Profit Margin x Total Asset Turnover x Equity Multiplier. Using these last three ratios explain the trend in the return on equity. For example if your companys ROE has declined is it due to a drop in the net profit margin (profitability problem) total asset turnover (efficiency problem) or equity multiplier (a financial leverage issue). 8. Calculate the Economic Value Added (EVA) for your company for this period assuming a 10% cost of capital. Discuss the EVA trend and provide reasons for the increases/decreases. How does this reconcile with the DuPont Analysis? (Formula: EVA = EBIT(1-T) “ (Total Invested Capital x Cost of Capital)). 9. Based on your analysis list your companys strengths and weaknesses (in bullet points). https://austessay.com/an-angel-investor-term-sheet-utilizing-the-template-which-is-posted-on-tritoned/

Discussion Board Question 2 A 20-year-old college nursing student received the Hepatitis B vaccination series as a child. The student visited the health center for a blood test to determine if immunity exists. What is this test called (5 points)? The test confirmed that the student has antibodies for the Hepatitis B virus. What type of immunity does this describe (5 points)? Explain how the student acquired this type of immunity (20 points). The student was also born with certain immune defenses. Identify two examples of innate immunity (10 points). The student’s sister visited the health center to receive the influenza vaccine. Two days after receiving the vaccine, she developed a fever and was diagnosed with the flu. She asked the nursing student, “Why didn’t the vaccine work? Did the flu vaccine give me the flu?” How should the nursing student best answer both questions (20 points)? Respond to this student: Before I go on differentiate between Type I and Type II Diabetes Mellitus, I will first define each one. Type I Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic condition. During this condition, the pancreas secretes little to no insulin (Mayo, 2023). Insulin is an essential hormone that helps turn food into energy and controls blood sugar levels (MediLexicon, 2022). It usually shows up during childhood, but this is not always true. Many factors, such as genetics and viruses, can cause Type I Diabetes Mellitus. There is no cure for Type I Diabetes Mellitus. Type II Diabetes Mellitus is a condition that happens because there is a problem in the body regulating and using sugar as a fuel. This condition results in too much glucose circulating in the blood. These high glucose levels lead to disorders of various body systems (Atrium Health, April). They both come from different causes. Type 1 is when the pancreas does not make insulin, and Type 2 is when the body becomes resistant to insulin. Type 1 occurs in childhood, while Type 2 occurs over many years. Type 1 can experience low and high blood sugar, but Type 2 does not. Type 1 can not be prevented, but Type 2 can be avoided. There are several acute complications of hypoglycemia. Some are seizures, sweating, and palpitations to cognitive dysfunction. Some of these complications can have long-term effects on the body. There are long-term complications of hyperglycemia. These include cardiovascular disease, neuropathy, kidney failure, and damage of the retina blood vessels that lead to blindness. Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research. Peter was curious to know if the average number of games won in a year predicts Super Bowl performance (win or lose). The X variable was the average number of games won during the past 10 seasons. The Y variable was whether the team ever won the Super Bowl during the past 10 seasons. Here are the data:   How would you assess the usefulness of the average number of wins as a predictor of whether a team ever won a Super Bowl? What’s the advantage of being able to use a categorical variable (such as 1 or 0) as a dependent variable?

Given the following information, use Table B.4 (which is right above) to determine whether the

1.         Given the following information, use Table B.4 (which is right above) to determine whether the correlations are significant and how you would interpret the results.

The correlation between speed and strength for 20 women is .567. Test these results at the .01 level using a one-tailed test.

The correlation between the number correct on a math test and the time it takes to complete the test is -.45. Test whether this correlation is significant for 80 children at the .05 level of significance. Choose either a one-or two-tailed test and justify your choice.
The correlation between number of friends and grade point average (GPA) for 50 adolescents is .37. Is this significant at the .05 level for a two-tailed test?

2.         A study was completed that examined the relationship between coffee consumption and level of stress for a group of 50 undergraduates. The correlation was .373, and it was a two-tailed test, done at the .01 level of significance. First, is the correlation significant?  Second, what’s wrong with the following statement? “As a result of the data collected in this study and our rigorous analyses, we have concluded that if you drink less coffee, you will experience less stress.”

3.         Use the following set of data to answer the following questions.

Compute the correlation between age in months and number of words known.
Test for the significance of the correlation at the .05 level of significance.
Go way back and recall what you learned in chapter 5 about correlation coefficients and interpret this correlation.

4.         Monica is interested in predicting how many 75-year-olds will develop Alzheimer’s disease and is using as predictors level of education and general physical health graded on a scale from 1 to 10. But she is interested in using other predictor variables as well. Answer the following questions.

What criteria should she use in the selection of other predictors?  Why?
Name two other predictors that you think might be related to the development of Alzheimer’s disease.
With the four predictor variables (level of education and general physical health, and the two new ones that you name), draw out what the model of the regression equation would look like.   (Do your best to draw on Word or describe it in detail).

The X variable was the average number of games won during the past 10 seasons. The Y variable was whether the team ever won the Super Bowl during the past 10 seasons. Here are the data:

How would you assess the usefulness of the average number of wins as a predictor of whether a team ever won a Super Bowl?
What’s the advantage of being able to use a categorical variable (such as 1 or 0) as a dependent variable?
What other variables might you use to predict the dependent variable, and why would you choose them?

6.         Now for multiple predictor variables. Take a look at the data below with the outcome being a great chef. We suspect that variables such as number of years of experience cooking, level of formal culinary education, and number of different positions (sous chef, pasta station, etc.) all contribute to rankings or scores on the Great Chef Test.

Which are the best predictors of the Chef’s score?
What can you expect for a score from a person with 12 years of experience and a Level 2 education, and who has held five positions?

Explain an organizational or patient issue for which a collaborative interdisciplinary team approach would help achieve a specific improvement goal.

Please follow the Capella Guidelines for Effective PowerPoint Presentations [PPTX]. If you need technical information on using PowerPoint, refer to Capella University Library: PowerPoint Presentations.

Be sure that your plan addresses the following, which corresponds to the grading criteria in the scoring guide. Please study the scoring guide carefully so you understand what is needed for a distinguished score.

Explain an organizational or patient issue for which a collaborative interdisciplinary team approach would help achieve a specific improvement goal.

Summarize an evidence-based interdisciplinary plan to address an organizational or patient issue.

Explain how the interdisciplinary plan could be implemented and how the human and financial resources would be managed.

Propose evidence-based criteria that could be used to evaluate the degree to which the project was successful in achieving the improvement goal.

Communicate the PowerPoint presentation of the interdisciplinary improvement plan to stakeholders in a professional manner, with writing that is clear, logically organized, and respectful with correct grammar and spelling using current APA style.

There are various ways to structure your presentation; following is one example:

Part 1: Organizational or Patient Issue.

What is the issue that you are trying to solve or improve?

Why should the audience care about solving it?

Part 2: Relevance of an Interdisciplinary Team Approach.

Why is using an interdisciplinary team relevant, or the best approach, to addressing the issue?

How will it help to achieve improved outcomes or reach a goal?

Part 3: Interdisciplinary Plan Summary.

What is the objective?

How likely is it to work?

What will the interdisciplinary team do?

Part 4: Implementation and Resource Management.

How could the plan be implemented to ensure effective use of resources?

How could the plan be managed to ensure that resources were not wasted?

How does the plan justify the resource expenditure?

Part 5: Evaluation.

What would a successful outcome of the project look like?

What are the criteria that could be used to measure that success?

How could this be used to show the degree of success?

Again, keep in mind that your audience for this presentation is a specific group (or groups) at your interviewee’s organization and tailor your language and messaging accordingly. Remember, also, that another person will ultimately be giving the presentation. Include thorough speaker’s notes that flesh out the bullet points on each slide.

Number of slides: Plan on using one or two slides for each part of your presentation as needed, so the content of your presentation will be 8–12 slides in length. Remember that slides should contain concise talking points, and you will use presenter’s notes to go into detail. Be sure to include a reference slide as the last slide of your presentation.

Number of references: Cite a minimum of 3 sources of scholarly or professional evidence that support your central ideas. Resources should be no more than five years old.

APA formatting: Make sure that in-text citations on your slides and in your notes pages and reference slide reflect current APA Style and Format.

Describe key factors and decisions to make regarding base pay. Analyze legally required benefits and standard benefit offerings for an employee.

Write a 3-5 page compensation and benefits package for a new expatriate position working for either Java Corp or an organization with which you are familiar.
Introduction
Structuring and communicating a total compensation package that meets regulatory requirements and the needs of a global workforce requires a delicate balancing act between what is required and what will contribute to an effective relationship between employer, employee, and the community or country in which the company operates. Communicating benefits programs to employees can be as important as the benefits themselves. Knowing how to leverage all available compensation options is a necessary skill for any HR professional.
Preparation
Research compensation and benefits for either Java Corp or an organization of your choice. A minimum of four resources are required to support your work.
Scenario
For this assessment, choose either option 1 or 2. You do not need to do both. You will apply one of these scenarios in the instructions below. Both options will be graded using the same scoring guide.
Option 1
You are the new HR manager for Java Corp, a domestic cold coffee and tea company. Java Corp is opening a new office in London, England. You are planning on filling one executive level position with a U.S. citizen. In the scenario, the employee filling the role can either be an existing employee or a new hire. The term of the initial assignment is two years. Design a compensation package for this position as the new HR manager.
Option 2
Choose an organization to use for this assessment. It can be where you are currently employed or a company with which you are familiar. It must be an organization that is researchable, as you will need to gather and analyze information to complete the assessment. You may use the same organization you have used in past assessments.
If you choose the organization where you are currently employed, please keep in mind that the analyses you make must be based on facts that can be documented rather than your personal opinion as an employee.
Research the compensation and benefits of the chosen organization. The company is opening a new branch office in London, England. You are planning on filling one executive level position with a U.S. citizen. This employee can be newly hired or an existing employee. The term of the initial assignment is two years. You are the new HR manager and must design a compensation package for this position.
Instructions
Create a compensation package for a new expatriate position. Include the following:
Pay or Salary
In this part:

Describe key factors and decisions to make regarding base pay.

Specifically, discuss how base pay would be determined, what factors influence base pay, and in what way.
Note: You do not need to indicate exact salary figures for this assessment.

Analyze pay considerations specific to expatriate positions.

Consider foreign service premium, incentive pay, hardship allowance, mobility premium, and the like.

Benefits
In this part:

Analyze legally required benefits for an employee.

Include social security, Medicare, federal and state unemployment, and worker’s compensation.
Also, discuss any legally required benefits that may be different in England compared to the United States.

Analyze standard benefit offerings.

Include health insurance, paid time off, employee assistance programs, et cetera.
Discuss factors that might influence these offerings such as company size, role of the employee, company location, et cetera.

Analyze the appropriateness of offering additional benefits or resources to employees facing an overseas work assignment that would ease their transition.

These types of benefits could include relocation assistance, home leave reimbursement, spousal support for finding work, cultural or language training, among others.

Additional Requirements
Your assessment should also meet the following requirements:

Length: 3-5 typed, double-spaced pages, plus a reference page.
Written communication: Communicate in a manner that is scholarly and professional. Your writing should be:

Concise and logically organized.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2022), “Social determinants of health (SDOH) are the nonmedical factors that influence health outcomes. They are the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, and the wider set of forces and systems shaping the conditions of daily life… SDOH are one of three priority areas for Healthy People 2030, along with health equity and health literacy. Healthy People 2030 sets data-driven national objectives in five key areas of SDOH: healthcare access and quality, education access and quality, social and community context, economic stability, and neighborhood and built environment. Some examples of SDOH included in Healthy People 2030 are safe housing, transportation, and neighborhoods; polluted air and water; and access to nutritious foods and physical health opportunities”.

Your e-portfolio is a way to gain your competitive advantage in the marketplace. Throughout the course, you will be editing previous coursework and uploading to your e-portfolio. In addition, you will create new artifacts (items that you want to showcase) to include in your e-portfolio. Your e-portfolio should include a diverse collection of artifacts that represent you. Consider how you will use the e-portfolio after the completion of the course? How will you use the final product to enhance your personal branding?

For the second part of our discussion this week, please answer the following questions. Based on your reading and understanding, how would you describe an e-portfolio? How do you develop one? What are signature assignments and how do you select the best one to include in your e-portfolio? A list of the signature assignments is located in the resources area. Will you include videos and pictures?
Be creative as there is not a right or wrong response. Provide details of the artifacts you would like to include. Consider what will be of value to the person reviewing the artifacts. When you respond to your peers, consider artifacts they may not have included.

Did you know that there is a Portfolio tool within the classroom? A portfolio or e-portfolio is different from looking at a resume. How do you think having employers view your e-portfolio over reviewing your resume helps you?

During my time taking classes at APU I have seen the portfolio link under the course tools tab but never clicked on it because I never had a reason to check it out, however I am familier with portfolios as I had to complete one during my undergraduate studies. I think that having an employer view an e-portfolio is different than just viewing a resume because it is going to give a potential employer a more in-depth look at how well I know the technical material for the job as well as a better understanding of the kind of work I can produce. The portfolio is going to help support my resume by giving actual visual examples of what skills I have obtained, and the work I have produced, instead of just listing skills and attributes on the resume. A resume is a good way to showcase the experience that I have to an employer, but the portfolio is really going to enhance it and show why I would be a good fit for the organization that I am applying to. I don’t think a portfolio should replace a persons resume when applying for jobs, but as an applicant I think it will help to supplement the resume and make me standout from other candidates. If it came down to me and another person for a job, having an employer be able to see my portfolio and gain a better understanding of the work I produce could be the difference that is needed to make the hiring decision.
