The battle of the sexes lives on still today. Since admission standards do not address gender whatsoever, there should be an equally diverse group of men and women in school, but do they perform equally well. Using the sample of 200 students, conduct a hypothesis test for two independent samples to determine if the mean GPA differs for men and women. Use a .05 significance level.

Use the Student_Data which consists of 200 MBA students at Whatsamattu U. It includes variables regarding their age, gender, major, GPA, Bachelors GPA, course load, English speaking status, family, and weekly hours spent studying.
2. Can a student keep up their grade performance at the next level? Is a strong GPA at the Bachelors level a good predictor of a strong GPA at the Masters level, or are GPAs naturally going to decline since graduate school is tougher, or will GPAs automatically be higher in graduate school because of the 3.00 requirement to graduate and the treatment of a C as subpar instead of average? Using the sample of 200 students (in the data file), conduct a hypothesis test for paired samples and test if there is a difference in the mean GPA from the Bachelors to the Masters programs. Use a .05 significance level.
3. Given the reasons why people get their Masters, you surmise that men are more likely to declare a major than women. Using the sample of 200 students (in the data file), conduct a hypothesis test of proportions to determine if the proportion of women with “no major” is greater than the proportion of men with “no major”. Use a .05 significance level.
4. You have probably heard that if you want something done, give it to a busy person. So is one’s employment status a factor in their academic performance? Using the sample of 200 students (in the data file), conduct a hypothesis test using Analysis of Variance to determine if there is a difference in the mean GPA for those who are unemployed vs. work part-time vs. work full-time.

Describe your philosophy on discipline in relation to coaching athletics. How does discipline play a role in coaching? Do you have a high number of specific rules or a low number general rules that cover a variety of areas? Do you prefer to punish the entire team for one players mistake or do you prefer to discipline the individual player?

One  of the toughest aspects of coaching is dealing with discipline issues.  It occurs at all levels (recreation, middle school, high school,  college, and professional). Disciplining players is a fine line, to say  the least. How a coach disciplines their team can determine the  character of the team and possibly success or failure.
Describe  your philosophy on discipline in relation to coaching athletics. How  does discipline play a role in coaching? Do you have a high number of  specific rules or a low number general rules that cover a variety of  areas? Do you prefer to punish the entire team for one player's mistake  or do you prefer to discipline the individual player? What areas of  behavior, both on and off the field, should be included in team rules?  How should a coach handle athletes who break team rules? What should the  consequences be for rule violations? Describe both positive and  negative approaches to disciplining players and the implications of  both. Explain your answers clearly and provide examples where  appropriate.

Students will assess the concept of globalization and its impact on local, national, and international communities. Students will identify and analyze current global issues across a spectrum of interdisciplinary studies including economics, anthropology, political science, information technologies, and resource management.

how has the class changed (if at all) your knowledge and ideas about global cultures?

Students will assess the concept of globalization and its impact on local, national, and international communities.
Students will identify and analyze current global issues across a spectrum of interdisciplinary studies including economics, anthropology, political science, information technologies, and resource management.
Students will discuss how diversity, divergent perspectives, and the tolerance of diverse ideas strengthen a community, locally and globally.

What is the current prevalence of mental health disorders among impoverished adults in the United States? How do economic interventions like financial assistance, housing support, and provision of other essentials affect the mental health of impoverished adults?

Research Topic: "Examining the Impact of Economic Interventions on the Prevalence of Mental Health Disorders Among Impoverished Adults in the United States: A Longitudinal Study"
Rationale: This research topic captures the essential elements of your study, including the focus on economic interventions such as money, housing, and other essentials, adults in the United States, and the outcomes you are interested in reducing the prevalence of mental health disorders. The term
"Longitudinal Study" suggests that you will collect data over time to assess these interventions' long-term effects.
Possible Research Questions:

What is the current prevalence of mental health disorders among impoverished adults in the United States? How do economic interventions like financial assistance, housing support, and provision of other essentials affect the mental health of impoverished adults?
How do economic interventions like financial assistance, housing support, and provision of other essentials affect the mental health of impoverished adults?
Is there a statistically significant decrease in the prevalence of mental health disorders following the implementation of these economic interventions?
What are the specific mental health disorders most affected by economic interventions?

Research Questions and Hypothesis [1-2 pages]

State two or three general research questions
State two research hypotheses
State independent and dependent variables
Define variables and concepts

Research Methodology [2-3 pages]

Type of research design and why it is needed

How will you structure the collection of data for your study?; What is the study design? i.e., experimental, quasi-experimental, non-experimental, survey research, qualitative, quantitative, cross-sectional, longitudinal, etc. Justify why you chose that research design and the strengths of your design. Is the design appropriate to the purpose of the study? If doing a program evaluation, describe the program and its objectives.

Population and sample

What is the population you want to generalize to? What is your sampling frame for that population? What is your sampling method? (i.e., probability/non-probability.. be specific with the sampling technique) How will you identify and get access to the subjects for your study? How many subjects do you anticipate having? What do they look like demographically? Are you representing diverse groups?

Plan of data collection
Development of the Questionnaire:

What items will be included?
Existing instruments: Reliability & Validity

Plan of data analysis

What variables do you include in your study? (If the study is explanatory and sets up a hypothesis, what are the independent and dependent variables?) How is each of the variables operationalized? You must provide the surveys, measures, etc., you will use. Is there evidence of triangulation? Discuss evidence for the reliability and validity of your instruments.

Procedure

How will you get consent/assent and recruit subjects? What data will you collect?  [Be sure that the data you collect measures your variables and that the variables you choose to measure will help answer your question.] Provide copies of the instruments (surveys, questionnaires, interview/focus group guides, data tracking log, etc.] Who will you collect the data from? How will you collect the data? Who will collect the data? Where? When? Please provide a complete description of the details of the data collection so that it can be replicated.

Extra points/Bonus (optional section)

Discussion Section (1-2 pages) <= ONLY this section is optional. NOT the ones below.

A brief paragraph summarizes your study, the purpose, and the design. Ethics: how are human rights protected? Limitations section: cover the threats to internal and external validity. Strengths section: what makes your study worth doing? This should include implications for practice and social and economic justice.

Limitations of the study

Your reaction to the artwork is an important component of your evaluation: what do you feel when you look at it? And, do you like the work? How and why do you find it visually pleasing, in some way disturbing, emotionally engaging? How have your opinions of the work changed over the course of your interaction and analysis?

CRITICAL (FORMAL) ART ALAYSISWhile restricting our attention only to a description of the formal elements of an artwork may at first seem limited or even tedious, a careful and methodical examination of the physical components of an artwork is an important first step in “decoding” its meaning. It is useful, therefore, to begin at the beginning. There are four aspects of a formal analysis: description, analysis, interpretation, and evaluation.Description:Analysis:Once the elements of the artwork have been identified, next come questions of how these elements are related.Interpretation:Interpretation comes as much from the individual viewer as it does from the artwork. It de- rives from the intersection of what an object symbolizes to the artist and what it means to the viewer. It also often records how the meaning of objects has been changed by time and culture. Interpretation, then, is a process of unfolding. A work that may seem to mean one thing on first inspection may come to mean something more when studied further. Just as when re-reading a favorite book or re-watching a favorite movie, we often notice things not seen on the first viewing; interpretations of art objects can also reveal themselves slowly. Claims about meaning can be made but are better when they are backed up with supporting evidence. Interpretations can also change and some interpretations are better than others.Evaluation/Judgement:All this work of description, analysis, and interpretation, is done with one goal in mind: to make an evaluation about a work of art. Just as interpretations vary, so do evaluations. Your evaluation includes what you have discovered about the work during your examination as well as what you have learned, about the work, yourself, and others in the process. Your reaction to the artwork is an important component of your evaluation: what do you feel when you look at it? And, do you like the work? How and why do you find it visually pleasing, in some way disturbing, emotionally engaging? How have your opinions of the work changed over the course of your interaction and analysis?Note: Evaluating and judging contemporary works of art is more difficult than works that are hundreds or thousands of years old because the verdict of history has not yet been passed on them. Museums are full of paintings by contemporary artists who were considered the next Michelangelo but who have since faded from the cultural forefront. The best art of a culture and period is that work which exemplifies the thought of the age from which it derives. What we think about our own culture is probably not what will be thought of it a century from now. The art that we believe best embodies our time may or may not last. As time moves on, our evaluations and judgments of our own time may not prove to be the most accurate ones. We live in a world full of art, and it is almost impossible to avoid making evaluations—possibly mistaken—about its value. Nonetheless, informed evaluations are still possible and useful even in the short term.
