Statistics Fleet CT3MiS300

You are tasked with developing a relational database model for a Fleet Management System. Use example below relational database model. The purpose of this system is to produce an asset listing of all trucks in the company’s fleet including information on the truck, acquisition cost and depreciation. In addition, the system must provide a history of operational costs and maintenance costs categorized by the type of cost, e.g. gas, oil, and types of repairs.

The deliverable for this assignment must include:

A list of the tables in this model for use in the Fleet Management System. Each table must contain the top three attributes.

A list of application areas such as Purchasing and Accounts Payable which will be the source of the transactions necessary to update the Fleet Management System.

A system diagram of the Fleet Management System including databases and source data applications.

Brief narratives explaining your rationale behind the list of attributes and the contents of the system diagram, and list of source applications.

Big Data DF3 MIS300

Consider an organization’s use of big data sources. Feel free to draw conclusions and examples from your own company or one in which you are familiar. How is big data being used? What recommendations would you make to the organization regarding other big data sources that should be used? In response to your peers, discuss an additional recommendation based on their responses.

Remediation – Ineffective-Missing Security Controls

As part of its due diligence efforts, the M&A team has determined that the following events contributed substantially to the bankruptcy of Island Banking services.

1. Company officers and managers were able to conduct criminal activities using company IT assets without detection.

2. The company did not have a disaster recovery / business continuity plan in place. It could not restart operations due to the loss of servers and workstations (seized by law enforcement agents).

3. Storage media for servers and workstations had not been backed up to an off premises location leaving the company with no way to recover from the law enforcement seizure of storage media as evidence.

The root cause for each event listed above was determined to be: ineffective and/or missing IT security controls.

You have been asked to perform a gap analysis to assist in the identification and selection of IT security controls which could be implemented to remediate the situation (“close the gaps”). The CCISO has requested that you use the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and the NIST Security and Privacy Controls Catalog (NIST SP 800-53) as your source for IT security controls.

Choose 3 to 5 families or categories of controls (“framework functions”) which should be implemented to remediate the above deficiencies (at least one family, e.g. AU Audit and Accountability, or category, e.g. Recovery Planning, for each event). Describe how the selected controls will prevent or deter such events in the future (“close the gaps”).

Format your response as a business memorandum. For each control family or category, you should provide the following information (see Domain 2 Section 1.1.2 in CCISO):

What it is
What it does
How the control performs its objective
You should have at least 5 strong paragraphs in your memo. Include citations and references (3 or more) to support your written work.

Mission Statements

Prior to completing this assignment, review Chapter 2, section 2.1 in your Constellation textbook and read the article Answer 4 Questions to Get a Great Mission Statement (Hull, 2013), being sure to review this Fortune 500 Mission Statements Now, turning to the company you selected, research and find the company’s mission statement. Then,

State how the mission statement provides guidance for the company’s organizational activities.

Evaluate the company’s mission statement per each of the four questions posed in the Hull article as well as your assigned readings for the week.

Rate the company according to the 5 star rating system used in the Fortune 500 list, stating how many stars would you rate the mission statement. Explain your rationale.

Rewrite the mission statement so that it better addresses the four questions and forms a complete mission statement.

Porter’s Five Force

Please review Chapter 4’s section concerning Porter’s 5 Forces, read the Forbes article Porter or Mintzberg: Whose View of Strategy Is the Most Relevant Today? (Moore, 2011) and view the required You Tube video Five Competitive Forces That Shape Strategy, regarding Porter’s five forces. In the video, Mr. Porter discusses how Porter’s Five Forces Analysis is an important tool for assessing the potential for profitability in an industry. As an example, Mr. Porter applied these five forces to the airline industry. Think of another industry where profitability is low. In an initial post of at least 250 words, apply the five forces to your chosen industry and demonstrate how those forces can lower profitability.

Triggers and Contingencies

Prior to beginning this discussion, review section 7.4 Contingency Planning in your textbook. Strategic plans are focused on current and future company goals, therefore changes in the environment must be detected and monitored. Changes in the environment that impinge on the company’s strategic plan are known as external triggers and triggers are paired with plans to successfully deal with them. These paired actions are known as contingency plans. What qualities make a future issue a “trigger”?

As an example, consider you are on the strategic planning team for a soft drink company. A merger of two major competitors next year would constitute a future trigger. For this discussion, consider the Environmental Scan and SWOT analysis you conducted in Week 2. Formulate a trigger/contingency pair in the form of a three-part sentence similar to the example in the textbook. Examine it in terms of the three guidelines that good contingency plans should follow.

Post a summary of your selected company and risks that you perceive based on your prior Environmental Scan and SWOT analysis. State the three-sentence trigger/contingency pair and justify your choice of contingency plan using information from the week’s readings and/or other scholarly or credible resources, using the Scholarly, Peer-Reviewed, and Other Credible Sources table for guidance.

Principles of Marketing – Create a Faux File for your target audience

Create a faux file… include the 5 areas that define a target audience (MY TARGET AUDIENCE IS RECENTLY SINGLE 20 YEAR OLD WOMEN – MY BRAND IS H&M WOMEN’S CLOTHING LINE – NOT SHOES)

1. Demographics – Includes age, income, gender, education

2. Geographics – Where do they live, work OR play?

3. Psychographics = Lifestyle (are they organic, vegan tree huggers or couch potatoes, what’s their typical Tuesday look like?, do they work or work out, etc.)

4. Media habits – Where do they get their news/information from?, Who influences them?, How much time do they spend online?, Do they watch TV or binge on Netflix, for example?

5. Buying behavior / usage – How do they shop?, Where do they shop?, When do they shop?, What brands do they respect?, Are they brand loyal or first time users?, How often do they use/buy the product… is there a buying cycle?

MEDICAL ETHICS CLASS; female patient who had been diagnosed with a right Duane Syndrome strabismus.

THIS IS A OPEN CONVERSATION FOR THE CLASS;

An ophthalmologist scheduled corrective surgery for a nine-year-old female patient who had been diagnosed with a right Duane Syndrome strabismus. Before the procedure, the ophthalmologist had a discussion of risks and benefits with the patient’s mother, and she obtained informed consent to proceed with the surgery.

On the day of the surgery, the ophthalmologist began the procedure by disinserting the lateral rectus muscle of the left eye. Then, realizing her mistake, she reattached the muscle in its original position before carrying out the full operation on the right eye, which was the correct eye. After the procedure, the ophthalmologist spoke to the mother and explained that she had inadvertently begun the operation on the left eye but had realized the error, restored the eye to its original condition and closed the incision. She apologized and reassured the mother that the surgical steps completed on the left eye would have no lasting repercussions for the patient.

The patient came to two postoperative follow-up appointments. At the first, she was noted to be doing well. By the second appointment, she had developed an infection in the left eye. The mother then declined to make further appointments with this ophthalmologist, and she later filed a lawsuit on behalf of her daughter alleging wrong-site surgery resulting in left eye infection, blurred vision and continuing pain.

Experts who reviewed the case noted that Duane Syndrome strabismus is a congenital condition that is most commonly seen in the left eye, and they thought this fact possibly contributed to the ophthalmologist’s error in starting on the left eye instead of the right one. An independent medical examination showed that the patient’s left eye infection had resolved with antibiotic treatment. Experts thought that the patient’s other alleged symptoms were not attributable to the surgery on either eye. Based on expert reports, a decision was made to defend this case. The mother subsequently withdrew the claim.

Are there times when it’s acceptable to cover up or avoid revealing a mistake if that mistake would potentially or likely harm the patient?

familiarize yourself with the domains of development and Content Areas (academic disciplines)

One purpose of this: to familiarize yourself with the domains of development and Content Areas (academic disciplines). Can you identify the difference between large motor and fine motor development? – between science and social studies? Granted, there is overlap! You can’t teach most things without language, for example. There are 2 objectives and assessment pairs for each area, choose the best two for each.

The second purpose for this is to get you reading appropriate objectives and good ways of knowing kids can do them (assessments, or evidence that they’ve learned it). This is one of the differences between an “activity” and a “learning plan.”

Physical Development is it:

  • Large Motor example: Catch a ball with two hands. Assessment: Children might be able to catch a balloon or beach ball. (easier) or Children might be able to catch a tennis ball, more difficult.
