You are required to write short answers to the following three (3) questions. Your response for each question (e.g., 1a and 1b) should be a combined maximum of 200 words.
Please number all of your responses accurately (e.g., 1a, 1b; 2a, 2b; 3a, 3b, 3c). Answer ALL of the following questions.
A group of industrial/organizational psychology consultants compared work-life balance among clerks, supervisors, and managers in the private sector in the United States. Therefore, they asked these three (3) groups of employees to complete the 46-item instrument developed by Banu and Duraipandian (2014) to measure work-life balance. The instrument used 5-point Likert scales, which were summed, and higher numbers on the overall scale indicated better work-life balance.
In addition, the consultants measured the employees’ motivation levels using the 18-item, 5-point Work Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation Scale. The 18 items were computed and higher numbers on the scale represented higher motivation levels among employees.
The consultants wanted to determine if type of employee would have a significant effect on work-life balance, while controlling for employee motivation. Thus, they entered the data in SPSS and conducted an appropriate statistical analysis.
Using a combined maximum of 200 words, respond to the following:

Question two :
A group of final-year psychology students, for their undergraduate research project, explored the predictors of stigma attached to mental illness. Their hypothesis was that education, the extent of exposure to persons diagnosed with mental illness, and the perceived severity of the mental illness would significantly predict stigma of mentally challenged individuals.
Education was coded in the data set as “0” for participants who had no tertiary level education and “1” for participants who possessed tertiary level education. The other variables in the study were measured with totaled Likert scales, where higher numbers represented more of the respective variable. After data entry and data analysis, the following table was produced in SPSS.
Using a combined maximum of 200 words, respond to the following based on the table below:

QUESTION THREE :
3. Dr. Mitchell wanted to determine if mood would be affected by age group, type of music, or their interaction. She recruited 72 adults to participate in all conditions of the study. There were three (3) conditions in the study. Participants listened to “happy” music in the first condition, then “sad” music in the second condition, and then “angry” music in the third condition. After listening to each type of music, participants were asked to complete the 16-item, 4-point Brief Mood Introspection Scale (BMIS). Thus, the participants completed the BMIS three (3) times.
In addition, Dr. Mitchell ensured that there was an equal number of younger adults, middle- aged adults, and older adults in the study. Therefore, there were 24 younger adults, 24 middle-aged adults, and 24 older adults in each condition.
Using a combined maximum of 200 words, respond to the following:
How many main effects and interaction effects are possible in this study? (1 mark)
