Review one research article that explores the values and/or ethical principles involved in the promotion of self-management for people living with one or more long term conditions

Field; Mental health nursing
Reference: Use Stirling Harvard referencing
Meantime, some more general advice as quite a few of you have already started your assignment.
Patch 1 Review one research article that explores the values and/or ethical principles involved in the promotion of self-management for people one or more long-term conditions.
You can choose a one (or more) LTCs that interest you here. So, use the databases via the Library to search for a research article (this might be qualitative, or quantitative or mixed methods). You might search using terms such as: “kidney disease”; “self-management”; nursing and/or paramedic role. Or you might use another combination of words. The trick here is to access the databases, develop your search terms and see what you come up with. Then, your task is to review the article.
What did the research try to do and how? What was the questions they were exploring?
What did they find?
What was the value of self-management and/or what were the principles involved?
Patch 2 Discuss the leadership role of the healthcare professional in promoting and facilitating self-management in people with one or more long-term conditions.
This is quite a general patch and some questions you could think about to help you include:
Why is leadership important?
How can good leadership promote and support self-management?
What strategies can be used?
Patch 3 With reference to a chosen long-term condition, discuss the key principles of drug action, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics for people with long term conditions.
Important: this refers to ‘a’ chosen long-term condition. This does not have to be the same LTC you referred to in Patch 1. This gives you the opportunity to explore different LTCs that might interest you.
Patches 4 and 5?
There is clear guidance, information and advice for you in Week 22 (remember to fully review 22.1, 22.2 and 22.3) before you view the example at the end.

Completing each patch?
The description of the content required for each patch is detailed below.

prepare an annotated bibliography with at least six citations.

Overview: In Milestone Two, you formulated your PICO question. For Milestone Three, you will construct an annotated bibliography by using your PICO to guide
your research. The annotated bibliography will assist you in gathering a detailed list of resources to use in your integrative review of the literature. An annotated
bibliography is an organized list of sources with an accompanying paragraph that describes, explains, and/or evaluates each entry in terms of strengths,
limitations, quality, and relevance. The purpose of writing an annotated bibliography is to provide an overview of the research that has been published on a
particular topic.
Prompt: For this milestone, you will prepare an annotated bibliography with at least six citations. An annotation concisely paraphrases the main idea and
purpose of the selected resource. The annotation of a scholarly journal should identify the thesis (or research question, or hypothesis), the methods used, and its
discussion or conclusions. Remember that identifying the purpose is a different task than listing the resource’s contents. To be more precise, the annotation
should state why the contents are there. While constructing your annotations, be sure to include the following critical elements:
 Restate argument or thesis, methods, and conclusions
 Evaluate resource for strengths and limitations
 Analyze the quality of each study using the appraisal checklist found in the module resources
 Evaluate how each resource has a connection to the PICO question

How to Combat the Opioid Crisis in Indiana?

Assignment
How to Combat the Opioid Crisis in Indiana?
Thesis Statement: The Indiana government, community leaders, and communities should work
towards providing all Hoosiers with educational information, treatment options, health services,
holistic care, and technological platforms to ensure access to health, create awareness, treat addiction,
and assure recovery for all affected individuals.
For the Unit 6 Assignment, you will prepare an annotated bibliography that includes four sources
related to your idea for change. Please include the following:
• Title page in APA format
• Your revised thesis statement for an argument for change in your community
• Citations and annotations for four separate sources, which can be primary or secondary but should
all be credible and appropriate for academic research
• One source that includes a visual or graphic component to help you prepare for the Unit 9
Assignment (the presentation)
• One source that addresses a rival hypothesis or misconception about your topic (NOTE: the source
does not have to oppose your thesis; it just needs to help you address a rival perspective)
• Citations should be in APA format
• Annotations should include the following:
o 1–2 sentence summary of the source’s main idea, followed by an in-text citation, e.g. (Smith, 2014)
o Evaluation of the source’s credibility, including the author’s credentials and the verifiability of the
source’s information; this should include where you found the source (Library, Google search engine,
government website, etc.). Use the criteria covered in Evaluating Information to guide your
evaluation.
o Discussion about how you will use the source to support your argument for community change (this
would include whether it poses a challenge to your argument that you will need to address). In this
section, paraphrase a key point from the source that supports or challenges your thesis and include an
in-text citation
