Exponential Technology

Apply your knowledge of Exponential Technology to predict what the world will look like in the future (5, 10, 25 years from now)

Expand and clarify your ideas in the writing below.

Task:

Now that you’ve learned what exponential technology is, use this knowledge to predict how exponential technology will impact the future.

In a document, describe these impacts of exponential technology in your written reflection.

Include one example that you can imagine for 5 years in the future, one example for 10 years in the future, and one example for 25 years in the future. These examples do not have to be about crime. They can be about any facet of life.

The Service Learning Experience (SLE) requires you to provide service to a local non-profit organization. The SLE is a five-part process that includes investigating service opportunities, preparing for that opportunity through a “preflection,” planning your service intervention, performing your service, and reflecting on the experience. The specific disciplinary skills you provide to the non-profit organization are reinforced in the Scenario Based Strategic Management Project

Minor Injuries and illness

Appraisal of Specific Patient Groups

Learning Outcome – Review the different needs of 3 specific patient groups – children, older people and people with a mental health disorder, who present with minor illness/injury

Requires you to critically appraise the different needs of specific patient groups, including children, older people and people with a mental health disorder who present with minor illness / injury. In this section you need to demonstrate how patient assessment and management is adapted to accommodate the needs of these specific patient groups. You may wish to within this section specifically focus on how assessment and triage may be adapted. It is paramount that the work is related to the patient presenting with a minor illness or injury, throughout. We recommend that you address each group individually, as this will help focus the writing. All 3 patient groups should be addressed to meet the learning outcome.

For this learning outcome please write a short summary of your learning achievements and provide an action plan for your continued and future learning needs. Start with where you felt your level of knowledge of minor illness and injury was before you studied this module, continuing to highlight how you have developed your knowledge, outlining how this new learning can be applied in your practice, supported by good quality evidence from the literature. You may want to use a reflective model template for this. Examples of these are Gibbs Reflective cycle (1988), or Rolf’s (2001) What? So what? Now what? These are not mandatory and a paragraph discussing your practice and implementation of these skills will also be acceptable. As this section is discussing your personal practice, the use of the first person writing in this section is appropriate, even if you have used the third person in the rest of the assignment.

Creating a court system

You must create a court system for the newly created state of Puerto Rico. You are to work under the assumption that Puerto Rico has just been admitted as the 51st state and build your court system from the bottom up. To be certain you understand how courts are organized in other states, you must research at least three current state court systems, within the United States, and use those systems to create Puerto Rico’s system. Do not use Puerto Rico’s current system as one of your examples. You must describe your proposal for creating Puerto Rico’s municipal courts, major trial courts, appellate courts, and the state’s highest court. Include geographic jurisdictions.

You must also describe how judges will be chosen for each court and must discuss how judicial and attorney ethical standards will be structured and enforced. You should conduct basic research on Puerto Rico (size, geography, population, existing counties or municipios, etc.) to be certain your proposed system will actually work.

Remember to provide citations when you borrow some idea or structure from another state.

The body (not including cover page, works cited/bibliography, etc.) of the paper must be 10-12 pages in length, double spaced, using Times New Roman 12-point font. A works cited page or bibliography (depending on the citation system used) must be included. Submitting too many pages will have the same result as submitting too few pages. Any images, charts, etc., used in the paper should be submitted as exhibits and are not included in the page count requirement.

Papers previously submitted for credit in another class, including POSC 340: Judicial Process (for students who may have taken the course previously), may not be submitted for credit in this class. Any paper previously submitted must be substantially modified or totally re-written so that no more than 30% of the language matches on the Turnitin report when the paper is submitted. All students must complete the Columbia College plagiarism tutorial/quiz in the quiz section of the course.

Men and Women rights:compose a memorandum

1- All assignments should be in 12 pt times new roman font and 1 inch margins (double spaced). Variation from this usually gives the appearance that students are artificially trying to inflate the length of their assignment.

2- Length: These assignments are making up for almost two weeks of discussion each. You do not have to do every assignment. Thus you have to put in a lot of effort into each assignment. A page or two will never be enough to do well on the assignment. Typically it will result in a grade of 70 or below. Many assignments will require you to type three or more pages in order for you to provide complete analysis.

Spelling and Grammar: Please proof read as errors will reduce your overall grade.

Citing: Students are expected to cite regularly from the assigned readings. If you fail to cite it will result in a loss of a letter grade.

Attaching the Assignment: You are expected to type an actual assignment/paper in word and attach it as requested. DO NOT copy and paste your assignment into the comment box. In the future that will result in your not getting a grade on the assignment.

Putting your name on your assignment: I print up all assignments at once. If you do not put your name on the assignment in the future I will deduct a letter grade. It is time cumbersome for me to try to find out which paper is yours after the fact.

You currently work for a bank. There is a regulation at issue that requires that all female bank employees who are in regular contact with the public wear one of two uniforms selected by the bank. These are provided at bank expense and are individually tailored to fit each employee. The styles are selected by a committee of female employees and are changed annually. No one has complained about the styles of uniform. The women complain that they are required to wear any type of uniform when the male employees who are in regular contact with the public are permitted to select their own working attire.

Ms. Fletcher met last week with the women tellers and reviewed the basis of the uniform policy with them at some length. It was instituted in 1955 because the women tellers had entered into a fashion competition with one another, a competition that interfered with the business of the bank. To put a stop to that competition the officers of First Valley implemented the uniform policy. There was no need to require that the men be subject to this policy because they showed no signs of competing with one another over who would wear the more fashionable ensemble. Ms. Fletcher explained that the uniform policy is kept in place because there is no reason to think that the same fashion competition would not reassert itself if the uniform policy were lifted.

Your assignment is to compose a memorandum to Ms. Fletcher indicating what you understand to be: (a) the strongest argument in support of the claim that the policy violates Title VII; (b) the strongest argument in support of the claim that it does not; and (c) your judgment as to which argument is more likely to prevail should the matter go to trial. You are to indicate the pertinent legal authorities in support of your judgment.

Does Counselling promote societal conformity or does it encourage change in the client?

Start with what is societal conformity and a little bit on how this may differ in different cultures. Society expects us to be independent and polite and so on and how disability may be viewed in society.

The client I had could not find a therapist before me who was local to her with wheelchair access. What message does that send the person on a wheelchair trying to access counselling in the society? is counselling encouraging the client to seek therapy? is it inclusive?

In specific cultures, including mine, there is a belief of karma therefore disability may be perceived as their past actions impacting their present state, therefore if a therapist world view is such then how they may be judging the client and this will impact how they show up for the client with all their prejudices and judgments. Therapist’s world views are an important factor, and their self awareness plays a vital role.

Power dynamic between the therapist and client. Carl Rogers says the client is the expert of their experience. He says that the relationship between the client and therapist is of equals. How many factors play into the power dynamic, for instance, therapist in a private practice working from home may not be aware of the client’s background, social status/class, the therapist house, the way they are dressed, the therapy room. The client may come from a more affluent area or maybe coming into an affluent area, will they have judgments? Will the therapist be aware of his/her judgments? Are they equals? Therapist’s awareness is imperative, otherwise it is difficult to facilitate change amongst judgements. Clients don’t have a social class they have an issue that they want to explore and understand in therapy, but am I seeing their socal class! Look at implicit biases that are unconscious.

Look at Carl Rogers view of what brings change in the client (his seven stages of therapeutic change) and what he thinks a therapist needs to offer the client (core conditions).

Does BACP ethical framework promote/ encourage change?

I will add more work so please keep an eye over the weekend.
