consider how you might assess and treat patients presenting with ADHD.

Assessing and Treating Patients With ADHD
Not only do children and adults have different presentations for ADHD, but males and females may also have vastly different clinical presentations. Different people may also respond to medication therapies differently. For example, some ADHD medications may cause children to experience stomach pain, while others can be highly addictive for adults. In your role, as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, you must perform careful assessments and weigh the risks and benefits of medication therapies for patients across the life span. For this Assignment, you consider how you might assess and treat patients presenting with ADHD.
To prepare for this Assignment:
• Review this week’s Learning Resources, including the Medication Resources indicated for this week.
• Reflect on the psychopharmacologic treatments you might recommend for the assessment and treatment of patients with ADHD.
The Assignment: 5 pages
Examine Case Study: A Young Caucasian Girl with ADHD. You will be asked to make three decisions concerning the medication to prescribe to this patient. Be sure to consider factors that might impact the patient’s pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic processes.
At each decision point, you should evaluate all options before selecting your decision and moving throughout the exercise. Before you make your decision, make sure that you have researched each option and that you evaluate the decision that you will select. Be sure to research each option using the primary literature.
Introduction to the case (1 page)
• Briefly explain and summarize the case for this Assignment. Be sure to include the specific patient factors that may impact your decision making when prescribing medication for this patient.
Decision #1 (1 page)
• Which decision did you select?
• Why did you select this decision? Be specific and support your response with clinically relevant and patient-specific resources, including the primary literature.
• Why did you not select the other two options provided in the exercise? Be specific and support your response with clinically relevant and patient-specific resources, including the primary literature.
• What were you hoping to achieve by making this decision? Support your response with evidence and references to the Learning Resources (including the primary literature).
• Explain how ethical considerations may impact your treatment plan and communication with patients. Be specific and provide examples.
Decision #2 (1 page)
• Why did you select this decision? Be specific and support your response with clinically relevant and patient-specific resources, including the primary literature.
• Why did you not select the other two options provided in the exercise? Be specific and support your response with clinically relevant and patient-specific resources, including the primary literature.
• What were you hoping to achieve by making this decision? Support your response with evidence and references to the Learning Resources (including the primary literature).
• Explain how ethical considerations may impact your treatment plan and communication with patients. Be specific and provide examples.
Decision #3 (1 page)
• Why did you select this decision? Be specific and support your response with clinically relevant and patient-specific resources, including the primary literature.
• Why did you not select the other two options provided in the exercise? Be specific and support your response with clinically relevant and patient-specific resources, including the primary literature.
• What were you hoping to achieve by making this decision? Support your response with evidence and references to the Learning Resources (including the primary literature).
• Explain how ethical considerations may impact your treatment plan and communication with patients. Be specific and provide examples.
Conclusion (1 page)
• Summarize your recommendations on the treatment options you selected for this patient. Be sure to justify your recommendations and support your response with clinically relevant and patient-specific resources, including the primary literature.
Note: Support your rationale with a minimum of five academic resources. While you may use the course text to support your rationale, it will not count toward the resource requirement. You should be utilizing the primary and secondary literature.

Elaborate in detail the ethical positions arrived at by using the Kantian categorical imperative relative to the long standing debate surrounding the death penalty or abortion. Argue the ethics from the point of view of the prisoner or from the fetus

Discussion: Kant’s Ethics and Our Duty

Required Resources
Read/review the following resources for this activity:
• Textbook: Chapters 9, 10
• Lesson 5
• Minimum of 1 scholarly source (in addition to the textbook)
Introduction
Kant’s famous First Formulation of the Categorical Imperative reads, “Act only according to that maxim whereby you can at the same time will that it should become a universal law.” Kant taught morality as a matter of following maxims of living that reflect absolute laws. “Universal” is a term that allows for no exceptions, and what is universal applies always and everywhere. Don’t forget about the second formulation of the categorical imperative which states, “Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means.” It is just as important.

Initial Post Instructions
For the initial post, address one of the following sets of questions:
1. What are the personal and/or communal ethical factors that may be involved in determining the moral position of either side given a contemporary debate, such as those concerning animal rights, stem cell research, abortion, the death penalty, and so forth?
2. Elaborate in detail the ethical positions arrived at by using the Kantian categorical imperative relative to the long standing debate surrounding the death penalty or abortion. Argue the ethics from the point of view of the prisoner or from the fetus
3. Evaluate the ethical positions in part two. You will want to detail whether they are convincing, logical, correct, consistent, etc.
Follow-Up Post Instructions
Respond to at least one peer. Further the dialogue by providing more information and clarification.
Writing Requirements
• Minimum of 2 sources cited (assigned readings/online lessons and an outside scholarly source)
• 7th Edition APA format for in-text citations and list of references

” how can creative storytelling be employed to bring history to life in a heritage centre?

The research question is ” how can creative storytelling be employed to bring history to life in a
heritage centre? Spesifically as a case study in Jorvik Viking Centre?
You don’t have to include the research question in the introduction section just I am adding this and
the other section to you to be able to write the introduction (Drafts of literature review, findings and
methodology)
This section should include:
-1st sentence should be a clear statement of what the researcher is doing. Like ” this research
examines….”
– the introduction should be a little map of the dissertation. Briefly summarise a) what you are
researching, with details b)what method are you doing and why? An overview of some of the key
literature c)a brief note about what (if any ) gaps in the literature that the research fills ( you can say
there are many articles about the chosen museum however none of them is investigating the
storytelling impact.) d) a brief note about key findings.
– conclude the introduction with a clear sense of exactly what the reader is about to read; what will it
cover? how the research is done? why the research is taking place?
Supervision notes
so in the introduction, you introduce your topic more generally so you talk about the Vikings and
museum narration in museums and storytelling in museums and so why that is really important or why
that’s an interesting topic and then you introduce your own case study so you say well this is what I’m
doing in this dissertation it’s my research question that’s my case study and you could then even
briefly talk about your findings say what I found this based on interviews and one side research. In the
introduction, you tell everybody what this dissertation is about and then the conclusion yes sort of
again sum up what you found but then you also say well so I found this and this is true for this case
study the same study could be used for the same sort of methodology and research design could be
useful or researching other institutions something like that so you sort of has an outlook but you
reflect on how your dissertation isn’t just a stand-alone case study but it actually speaks for something
much bigger so please say I’ve talked about storytelling in this particular case about the Vikings and
history in this particular museum our storytelling approach would really be interesting for a
contemporary Art Museum or for other history museums as well.
I’ve worked about a museum that is about the history of the Vikings in Britain and storytelling in this
particular case and perhaps this is a particularly relevant case like the Vikings have so much myth
around them that stories are like a logical approach you could then also say well I have also shown
how storytelling reaches people and an approach like that might also be used in different settings and
might be particularly useful for historical museums sort of archaeological sites.

What are the perceptions of students about effective faculty?

The Future of Faculty Development: Where Are We Going? Ann E. Austin, Mary Deane Sorcinelli and Boyer report (the extracts attached) to write the context.]

(It is a North America/ Canada higher education context)

The below are my thoughts:

Commonly, faculty are assessed according to their research service more than their teaching quality which is sad as students is the main element in the learning equation. Thus, excellence in the classroom all too often is undervalued. The question of evaluating teaching is not an option nor controversial. Students’ evaluation plays a major role yet, it is not valued, and it is overlooked. According to Boyer, faculty get assessed according to many areas (scholarships). In addition, the common view is a good researcher/publisher is a good teacher. Another view is teachers who participate in continuing education programs are effective teachers. It will be interesting to see how students perceive as an effective teacher.

Thus, the research questions are:
the present proposed research statement aims at examining:

• What are the perceptions of students about effective faculty?
• What are the qualities of an effective faculty according to the students?

?
The outline of the paper
“statement of the problem” paper.

1. In the introduction paragraph include: (one page)
The research question (How can we improve the quality of teaching with including well designed teaching evaluations? ) and What are the resources necessary to research the problem you have chosen – i.e., financial resources, time commitment, accessibility to participants, etc. b. whether studying this problem make a significant contribution to existing literature and educational practices – i.e., do a library search using library search engines to see what the scholarly literature says about your topic and then consider how your research might contribute to that body of literature, c. what research approach is likely best in approaching this research problem –

What impact is the campaign having on the protection of human rights?

Research paper:
For this assessment you will be required to analyse a contemporary human rights campaign:
Awareness Against Human Trafficking was founded in 2010 by a passionate group of lawyers, missionaries and humanitarians under the leadership of Radoslaw Malinowski who observed that Kenya had become a hub of human trafficking in East and Central Africa. These people sought to bring awareness to Kenya to end the criminal activities of human traffickers and bring justice to the victims. Since then, HAART has worked to fight human trafficking through a multi-disciplinary approach.
HAART staff and volunteers include professional and passionate people who have degrees in law, psychology and public health, social work, education and international development among others.
THE 4PS PARADIGM
HAART uses the UN Four P’s Strategy to combat trafficking in persons, but you must assign only one to yourself. You will use your research, critical and analytical skills to evaluate the work Haart are doing in that particular area of activism.
1. Prevention
2. Protection
3. Prosecution
4. Partnership.

The particular area I have chosen is protection.

Haart Kenya:
• Which human rights are being defended?
• Why is the campaign necessary?
• What are the political dimensions to the campaign?
• What strategies has the organisation used to mobilize support?
• How has the campaign been received? You must address the following interest groups:
a. government(s)
b. the public
c. the recipients of the advocacy – survivors
• What impact is the campaign having on the protection of human rights?
• What challenges exist and how do you think they could be overcome?
• In your view, is it a successful campaign?

What are CRT’s most important insights and principles?

Jacob Forman and Mohammed Shafia both murdered their families. The media coverage of the murders is the
subject matter of this assignment, which has two parts. First, students will explain what Critical Race Theory
(“CRT”) is. What are CRT’s most important insights and principles? What purposes does CRT serve? Clearly, there
is no expectation that students will (or can) discuss every CRT principle in their assignments. Focus on those
principles that are most relevant to the assignment at hand and make sure that you explain the principles that you
raise. Do not simply list them.
Second, having provided a synopsis of CRT, students will assess the stories of the Forman and Shafia murders using
a CRT lens. Are there similarities between the two stories? Are they depicted similarly in media accounts? Are they
treated similarly in the legal realm? What does a CRT lens have to show us?
Length: 1250-1500 words excluding notes, bibliography and title page.
Formatting: Students should double space their papers using a 12-point font and standard (1 inch) margins. Students
must use the Chicago style for their citations and bibliography. Failure to correctly use the Chicago style will result
in a deduction.
There are numerous online citation guides that provide guidance on the Chicago style:

choose.

The efficacy of Police Body Worn Camera (BWC) programs—Are the costs associated with BWC programs worth the actual benefit

What is your topic?
The efficacy of Police Body Worn Camera (BWC) programs—Are the costs associated with BWC programs worth the actual benefit.
What is your stance on the topic?
BWC programs have become a vital instrument in the law enforcement community’s effort to increase public trust through transparency. BWC programs, however, are very expensive to implement and maintain. How is officer behavior impacted by the usage of body worn cameras?
Why do you [think] this? State your reasons in a “because” clause.
Because officers’ actions will be recorded and captured, misconduct and complaints should decrease dramatically. The cost-benefit factor of the programs should be worth the alternative of municipalities being subject to various litigations.
Now why would someone disagree with this? Use an “although” clause to state this opposing opinion.
Although, much misconduct is a matter of perception and can be addressed through report review and policy interpretation, body worn cameras provide a much-needed layer of transparency in relation to a growing need for law enforcement accountability for officers’ actions.
“Although” clause+Stance on topic+“Because” clause=Complete thesis statement (may need to be revised or simplified)
Although, there may be individual benefits as a result of BWC programs, BWC programs may significantly impact municipal budgets by the expensive costs of equipment, data storage, and records retention/retrieval. Because of the rise of public mistrust, BWC programs may offer a solution to the perception that police misconduct is commonplace throughout the law enforcement community. That solution, however, may come with a heavy premium.

Do you believe that children learn from their experience and that project-based learning enhances that experience? YES

Discussion – Progressivism
________________________________________
The influence of Progressivism on American education is wide and on-going. Those that focus on “learning by doing” and project-based methods of teaching base their work on Progressive theories of education. As you begin to think about your own views about philosophy of education, consider your how your educational experiences were informed by ideas from Progressivism, Pragmatism and Liberalism?
