What are the characteristics and indicators of the “permanent campaign”?

“The White House, Congress, and other politicians, are so preoccupied with winning elections that they have little or no time for governing.” This comment reflects the idea now popular among leading observers of political life in Washington-that elected officials are increasingly engaged in a “permanent campaign,” and that little or nothing of substance can get accomplished under these conditions.

What are the characteristics and indicators of the “permanent campaign”?
How does the permanent campaign impact on the functions of governing?
Is the increased attentiveness to the public and constituencies good for American democracy? Why or Why not?

Assignment: Applications of Graph Theory
Due Week 10 and worth 150 points

In 1736, a famous Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler (1707 – 1783) started the work in the area of Graph Theory through his successful attempt in solving the problem of “Seven Bridges of Konigsberg.” Graph Theory solved many problems in multiple fields (Chinese Postman Problem, DNA fragment assembly, and aircraft scheduling.) In Chemistry, Graph Theory is used in the study of molecules, construction of bonds in chemistry, and the study of atoms. In Biology, Graph Theory is used in the study of breeding patterns or tracking the spread of disease.

Write a three to five (3-5) page paper in which you:

Choose two (2) applications for graph theory within your area of specialization (Networking, Security, Databases, Data Mining, Programming, etc.).
Examine how these applications are being used in your specialization.
Determine how graph theory has advanced the knowledge in your area of specialization.
Conclude how you will apply graph theory in your area of specialization.
Use at least three (3) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not quality as academic resources

explain professional development steps you might take to overcome this challenge.

You bring your own couple and family experiences that may enrich or detract from your success as a couple and family practitioner. Contextualize these issues within your professional practice, and think about how your experience might impact your work with clients. Consider whether there are issues you might find challenging to work with because of your personal history, values, or beliefs, and then reflect on how you might address these challenges.

For this Discussion, you will examine your personal experiences and the challenges you might encounter when working with life transition and developmental issues as a couple and family practitioner.

A brief description of the life transition or developmental issue you find most challenging to work with and explain why this issue is challenging for you. Then, explain professional development steps you might take to overcome this challenge.

Unit 8 Discussion Post

Topic 1 of 1: Collaborating with other disciplines

Your textbook points to many similarities and many differences between OBM (Organizational Behavior Management) and OD (Organizational Development). The text also highlights potential areas for collaboration. Throughout your future careers in Applied Behavior Analysis, you will often have to collaborate with others from other disciplines. This will require an understanding of other fields as well as the skills to determine where you can collaborate and create the most effective treatment environment for clients.

For this week’s Discussion you will compare and contrast OBM and OD as well as extend some of the points from this week’s Reading to your future practice:

1. Identify and explain two key ways in which Organizational Behavior Management and Organizational Development are different.

2. Describe one of the areas you feel OBM can contribute the most to in the field of OD and why.

3. Discuss what is meant by “humble behaviorism,” as referenced in your textbook from Neuringer (1991).

4. Discuss how the ideas of reciprocation and “humble behaviorism,” will impact collaboration with other disciplines in your future career in behavior analysis.

Create a 1-page infographic or job aid of the cyber domain using the OSI model.

Imagine you are the information systems security officer at your company and are tasked with creating a cybersecurity threat awareness training. You must create an infographic or job aid for the company’s intranet and a brief presentation for the company’s stakeholders, including executives, managers, and staff.

Refer to the LinkedIn course “PowerPoint: Creating an Infographic” by Heather Ackmann, located in this week’s Learning Activities folder, for guidance on creating infographics.

Create a 1-page infographic or job aid of the cyber domain using the OSI model.

Identify 5 to 7 threats to the cyber domain, including at least 1 threat for each of the layers in your infographic.

Create a 4- to 6-slide presentation in which you:

Discuss the challenges of securing each layer of the cyber domain in the company’s cyber threat awareness training.
Select 3 threats from your infographic or job aid.
Identify 2 challenges from the threats you identified.
Note: You do not need to identify how to mitigate the threat; this presentation is focused on raising awareness of cybersecurity threats and the challenges these threats present.

Format any references according to APA guidelines

Compare Psalm 23 and The Sermon on the Mount

How would your perspective on the topic change if you were in a nonpaid position

For this assignment, you will compose a reflection paper in which you will consider how topics studied in social psychology influence these concepts in the real world. To complete your paper, first, pick a topic you previously learned about in this course. Then, address the following points. Define your chosen topic as it was presented in the prior unit. Describe how your topic could be applied in a work setting. In your description, be sure to mention the similarities and the differences you would expect in applying your topic to the real world. Would your chosen topic be perceived as beneficial or detrimental if you were in the role of employee? Why? How would your perspective on the topic change if you were in a nonpaid position, such as a volunteer or intern? Think about the concepts of behavioral economics. What is a rational course of action to protect (if a detriment) or promote (if a benefit) yourself, as an individual employee? How does this compare to actions that protect or promote the company at large? How could you balance the two?
