Fixing the health care plan case study

ÿ
You are the Vice President of Compensation & Benefits for Wolfman Enterprises, a large, high-technology products manufacturer that employs approximately 65,000 in the United States.ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
You have just learned that health insurance premiums for the following fiscal year were expected to increase approximately 26%, up dramatically from the 16% increase of the previous year and the 14% increase the year before that.ÿ Adding to your concern is the projection that, by 2015, the company?s $375 million annual health-care bill would increase to a staggering $613 million.ÿÿ
ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
You have been asked by Wolfman?s top management to develop a custom-designed health insurance program for the organization that would hold down health-care premium costs to a reasonable level while ensuring that employees would retain adequate health care coverage.ÿÿ
ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
The current health care plan is relatively traditional.ÿ The company pays the entire health care premium for single employees (approximately $480 per month); dependent coverage is available, but the employee pays the entire cost of this coverage.
ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
There is a $250 deductible, and no preferred provider network.ÿ Once the employee?s deductible is met, the policy pays 80% of all covered expenses up to $5,000.ÿ Once the $5,000 threshold is met, the policy then pays 100% of covered expenses up to a lifetime maximum of $2,000,000 per person.ÿ Thus, each employee has an annual out-of-pocket maximum of $1,250.ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
Preventive care (an annual physical, routine Pap smears and annual mammograms for women, and PSA for men) are covered at 100% with no deductible.ÿ Employees also have a prescription drug benefit.ÿ After payment of a $100 annual deductible (per person), generic prescription drugs are available with a $10 copay; brand-name prescription drugs are available with a $25 copay.ÿÿ
ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
Top management has asked you to provide them with a preliminary list of ideas to be considered, and how you believe employees would accept these changes, because the company is concerned about employee retention and does not want to lose valued employees.ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
Based upon the material presented in the textbook and your outside research, prepareÿaÿreport that addresses what health care initiatives Wolfman might undertake in order to deal with the rapidly escalating health care costs.ÿ Make certain that you consider the effects the initiatives would have on the employees and their acceptance of the changes.ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
You should use a minimum of two (2) outside sources in this paper.ÿ Please be sure to appropriately cite all sources using APA formatting.
Your assignment should be 3-4 pages long, double-spaced, using 12-point font, excluding cover page, attachments, etc.ÿ
Keep in mind that, while there is no one single “absolutely correct” approach to this problem,ÿthis is not an opportunity for opinion alone.ÿ Grading will reflect your reasoning and critical thinking skills, your ability to integrate what you have assimilated from course material, the clarity of your response and its appearance.ÿ Please see the rubric posted under the “Resources” tab in the main menu of the course for additional guidelines on grading.

English argumentative essay “high school level” valentines day

English Essay
ÿ
ÿvalentines day
ÿ
?If men within themselves would be governed by reason and not generally give up their understanding to a double tyranny of custom from without and blind affections within, they would discern better what it is to favor and uphold the tyrant of a nation.? ? John Milton, The Tenure of Kings and Magistrates
ÿ
Prompt:
ÿ
Choose an American Custom to question. Historicize this Custom, make an argument for why it should no longer be followed, and provide a practical and detailed revision for a replacement Custom.
ÿ
In a thesis driven, argumentative essay, argue why your chosen Custom should no longer be followed and how it should be altered to fit into today?s society. Using your own personal research, address this issue in an objective manner without using any personal narrative. As this is an argumentative essay, the goal of your writing should be to persuade your audience to agree with your position.
ÿ
Purpose:
ÿ
The purpose of this essay is to convey to your audience why Customs should not be blindly followed. Certain Customs are in effect because they are handed down from generation to generation but do not necessarily apply to today?s societal needs. It is your job to question these Customs and provide a logical argument as to why others should question these Customs as well.
ÿ
Considerations:
ÿ
Think about the factors that can influence this topic. Why was this Custom originally established? Why is it still in use today? Will you be able to present counter argument in an effective, non-biased manner? What is the societal, political, or economic impact of your topic?ÿ

Major Essay Project 3 Brainstorming Questions
ÿ
ÿ
Questioning the American Custom
ÿ
1.ÿÿÿÿ Is the Custom something that is prominent in America? It can be something that other countries also do, but it MUST be something done in America.
ÿ
2.ÿÿÿÿ Do most Americans participate/believe/follow this Custom?
ÿ
3.ÿÿÿÿ What is the American Custom in details?
ÿ
4.ÿÿÿÿ When was the American Custom created?ÿ
ÿ
5.ÿÿÿÿ Who established the American Custom?
ÿ
6.ÿÿÿÿ Where was the American Custom created? It does not need to have originated in America in order to be considered a modern American Custom. It just needs to currently be an active part of the American lifestyle.
ÿ
7.ÿÿÿÿ Why was the American Custom created?
ÿ
8.ÿÿÿÿ How has the American Custom changed from its original meaning to the way it is viewed/enacted in today?s society?ÿ
ÿ
9.ÿÿÿÿ Why should the American Custom no longer be followed?ÿ
ÿ
10.ÿ What is one reason that a specific group would argue to KEEP the American Custom as is? What can you use to specifically argue AGAINST this reason?
ÿ
11.ÿ What should be done instead of this traditional Custom? You can use preexisting ideas to help come up with a revision, but you need to show evidence of advanced critical thinking.
ÿ
12.ÿ What sources have you consulted?ÿ
ÿ
If you cannot find answers to these questions regarding a Custom you are considering writing on in your essay, you should consider searching for a new American Custom to discuss.
ÿ
ÿ

I also attached a bibliography for the essay, if you want to use it but you don?t have to, also I need to argueÿ that American?s should no longer celebrate Valentines day

Play: women and honor : some notes on lying

Here is the prompt for your final paper:
ÿ
Many of the narratives we?ve read in the second half of our class have dealt with deception: lies, pretending, deceit, personas, etc. People lying to themselves, people lying to others, people pretending for others, people pretending for themselves. Pick two or three texts that deal with this theme and compare/contrast these forms of deception. How do the lies/pretending affect your perception of the person/characters? Do you feel sorry for them? Do you feel contempt for them? Do you sympathize with them? Can you understand why or how they lie/pretend? Or do you not understand them? Do you agree with the lies/deception? Do you think it?s necessary for them to lie/pretend? Is there such a thing as a ?good? lie? What are some connections you see among the texts you?ve picked?
ÿ
These questions are merely suggestions to guide you. The main thing here is that you analyze the texts and compare and/or contrast them. Here are some other guidelines:
ÿ

Your paper should be 3-5 pages, double-spaced, with 1? margins. 12 point font, Times New Roman.
You may use any texts that we?ve discussed since the midterm paper. That means everything from Lorraine Hansberry?s A Raisin in the Sun up to John Jeremiah Sullivan?s ?Violence of the Lambs.?
You may use ?I,? and I encourage you to use ?I? frequently throughout your paper!
Think of this as a more formal version of your weekly writing responses. I want the same level of analysis and comparisons you?ve been making so far, only in a slightly more formal version. That means you should have an introductory paragraph that tells me which texts you?re going to discuss and how you?re going to compare/contrast them. You should have separate body paragraphs for each text (it?s okay to have multiple paragraphs discussing a single text). And you should end with a short conclusion.
The most important thing here is DO NOT PLAGIARIZE. I don?t want you to use any outside sources, so don?t go to Google and look up other people?s ideas. I want YOUR ideas and I want them in YOUR voice.ÿ
Use proper MLA in-text citations from the Pur OWL site: http://owl.english.pur.edu/owl/resource/747/01/
Have a proper MLA Works Cited list at the end of your paper.

ÿ
ÿPlease email me your paper as an attachment (preferably as a .doc/.docx). And this is important: Because I don?t have a lot of time to grade your papers, please indicate in your email whether or not you want comments in the margins. I?ll include the final endnote comment for everyone, but if you don?t specifically say you want comments throughout, I won?t be giving you those. Finally, in terms of late papers: Anything from a minute late to 10 minutes late is a half-a-letter-grade deduction, with subsequent half-a-letter-grade deductions for each additional 10-minute increment it?s late.
ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
To give you a sense of how I grade, this is a general breakdown:
ÿ
A papers: Clear, well-organized, and detailed analysis of the texts. Strong use of quotations from the text to support opinions. Perfect MLA citations/Works Cited. Practically no typos.
ÿ
B papers: Fairly clear and well-organized analysis of the texts. Good detail, but could be moreÿ in-depth. Pretty good use of quotations from the text to support opinions. Mostly correct MLA citations/Works Cited. More than a few typos.
ÿ
C papers: Not super clear and not very well-organized analysis of the texts. Sparse details. Decent use of quotations from the text to support opinions. Mostly incorrect MLA citations/Works Cited. Several typos.
ÿ
D papers: Little-to-no clarity or structure or detail in your analysis. Weak use of quotations from the text to support opinions. Completely incorrect MLA citations/Works Cited. Mostly typos.
ÿ
F papers: You plagiarize. You don?t include any quotations from the text. You write about 50 Shades of Grey or The Hunger Games instead of the texts we?ve discussed in class.

Case study/ study included | Nursing homework help

ÿ
You will write a case study review which includes your critique. This will be worth 30 points total. Create a detailed case study review in an essay APA format and include as your final page a reference list in APA format. Your review should be double-spaced, 2 pages minimum (not including reference list), with correct grammar and spelling.ÿ
The purpose of this summative assignment is to reflect upon the new knowledge you have obtained from this course and apply it to your chosenÿcase studyÿwhile developing your critical thinking and critique skills. Be sure to consider all information from the course content – discussion board exercises, videos and any additional readings. Revisit readings from your Gilmore text.ÿPut thought into how well you think the case study conducted their assessment, and how you would augment or improve it. Utilizing your knowledge from our course around assessing community needs, provide a detailed description and critique of your case study. Be sure to review your case study carefully to look for any gaps or areas with which improvements could be made, and justifyÿyour thinking. Reference additional scholarly resources to reinforce your justification. Be sure to cite your work appropriately.
Provide a brief (1 – 2 paragraph) description of the population and the health concern or issueÿbeing addressed.ÿExplain how your chosen case study did, or did not, do in the area ofÿdescribing the community,ÿjustifying the need for conducting the assessment, etc. Describe how your case study did with (or if they omitted)ÿconsidering learning styles and theories as well as models to promote health education. Describe how your case study assessed groups and/or individuals (if applicable) and if they considered any factors that impact health education. Using your knowledge around each weekly module, discuss three suggestions for improving your case study. You may present an alternative approach or additional steps that you believe would improve the quality of your case study.ÿConsider these prompts as you complete your critique:

How did the case study identifyÿthe issue and explain the importance of the specific topic within the community?
Did the case study paint a detailed picture of the population?
Does it include a detailed description including information on demographics, barriers and challenges?
Does it justify the need to conduct a needs assessment?
Does it identify and describe community resources and explain why the resources are or are not effective?
Does it explain any process for collecting data?

Remember to discussÿrecommendations. As you have done previously in our discussion boards and weekly modules, apply your critical critiquingÿskills to suggest what improvements are needed. Finish your essay withÿa summative paragraph which includes your final thoughts around how your suggested improvements would enhance this case study toÿmeet the needs, or “fill in the gaps” and provide assistance to the community or population represented.ÿ
Finally, include in APA format, a list of references. This should include a minimum of 2 references which are scholarly sources of information no previously referenced in the course. You may use any of the resources that were referred to throughout our weekly modules. You may also include your text as a resource in addition to your 2 references.

Videogame and Players Aggressiveness Research Paper

Two major assignments comprise the research project: Part One: Contexts Project (CP) and Part Two: Advocacy Project (AP). This first assignment, the CP, asks you to (1) research and deploy various types of sources to describe, contextualize, and analyze a significant contemporary political/social/cultural problem as it relates to videogames; (2) summarize and evaluate conversations and debates happening between credible scholars, thinkers, and organizations about your topic.Together, the actions above comprise expository writing?the guiding method of this project?which means simply that with this first composition you are attempting to describe your project’s central problem and explain its relevance by contextualizing it.Some questions that might help to direct your research includeWhat harm does the problem cause to individuals, communities, institutions, and/or ecologies? Why does the problem exist? When and how did it develop? Do any individuals, communities, or institutions benefit from it?Who is paying attention to and writing or speaking about the problem among journalists, politicians, scholars, other researchers, activists, governmental agencies, and/or industries? Why ?contexts??An informed, authoritative writer understands their topic in context.Context can be historical. Analyzing the past means grappling not simply with events, but with the issues and concerns of the time. It?s not enough to read a contemporary account of the past; we must also look at the work produced in the past?its political speeches, court decisions, and media. Therefore, one goal of this assignment is to learn about the historical contexts of your problem: the laws, legal precedents, and institutional practices that underlie its current form, and economic, social, political, and/or environmental trends that have shaped its development.Context can also be rhetorical. We want to present the stakes that a given community has in the topic of our research, but we also want to interrogate the way those stakes get articulated by journalists, researchers, and politicians. Even within ?scholarly writing,? you should become aware of how various communities (called disciplines) frame the same topic quite differently from one another. Identifying these relevant communities of thinkers and writers, analyzing their perspectives, and bringing their views together will help you gain a comprehensive understanding of your problem, and the authority that understanding entails. As you research for your CP, you will concurrently develop a Working Annotated Bibliography for your entire project that involves summarizing and analyzing individual sources (your instructor will provide you with separate instructions for this portion of the assignment).By the time you complete the CP, you should be able to:Develop effective research note-taking habits through source annotations.Practice information literacy in the research process by locating and critically evaluating relevant and credible evidence from a variety of sources and genres.Understand research as a part of the larger composition process of prewriting, drafting, and revision.Collaborate with fellow researchers to give and receive constructive feedback on the work in progress.Plan, draft and revise an essay with organization and style appropriate for addressing a general academic audience.Arrange and integrate evidence?primary-source, secondary-source, and multimodal?intentionally, with particular attention to its argumentative purpose and rhetorical effect.Integrate and cite evidence in a transparent and ethical manner, using a standard citation system. Learn how and why to avoid plagiarism and patch-writing.

Build the team | Management homework help

Step 2: Build the Team
Having the desire to change a situation on your own is often not sufficient to get the job done. More often than not, change requires the help of a team of individuals. Last week you learned about how to create urgency. So now you have the people around you motivated and ready to act. That?s a great start, but what comes next? Can everyone just dive in and get it done? More than likely it will take a bit more planning and coordination than that. You?ll need to create the right team and guide them in the right direction to accomplish the desired change successfully.
Read Step 2 ?Build the Guiding Team? from Kotter and Cohen’s The Heart of Change. First, review the feedback from your instructor on Part 2 along with the discussion on urgency you had with your peers last week. Use any new information you gained from the discussion and feedback from your instructor to revise and improve Part 2 of your project.
Next, compile Part 3 of your project, explaining how you would build your team to address change in your organization. Explain how you would show enthusiasm and commitment to draw in the right team players, how you would model trust and teamwork, how you would structure the team, and how you will inject energy into the group. Be sure to touch on potential pitfalls in this step that you will avoid. You may find page 60 helpful in reviewing the key points of what to do and not do when building your team. Be sure your paper touches on the key elements of each as they pertain to your organization.
Be sure to include at least three scholarly references to support your assertions written in your own words. Do not copy word for word from the course text or any other sources. Your submission this week is Part 3 of the final project.
The requirements below must be met for your paper to be accepted and graded:
ú ÿWrite between 1,000 ? 1,500 words (approximately 4 ? 6 pages) using Microsoft Word in APA style.
ú ÿUse font size 12 and 1? margins.
ú ÿInclude cover page and reference page.
ú ÿAt least 80% of your paper must be original content/writing.
ú ÿNo more than 20% of your content/information may come from references.
ú ÿUse an appropriate number of references to support your position, and defend your arguments. The following are examples of primary and secondary sources that may be used, and non-credible and opinion based sources that may not be used.
Primary sources such as, government websites (United States Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, United States Census Bureau, The World Bank, etc.), peer reviewed and scholarly journals in EBSCOhost (Grantham University Online Library) and Google Scholar.
Secondary and credible sources such as, CNN Money, The Wall Street Journal, trade journals, and publications in EBSCOhost (Grantham University Online Library).
Non-credible and opinion based sources such as, Wikis, Yahoo Answers, eHow, blogs, etc. should not be used.
Cite all reference material (data, dates, graphs, quotes, paraphrased words, values, etc.) in the paper and list on a reference page in APA style.ÿ

Global warming | English homework help

Explanatory Synthesis
ÿTask: For this paper, we will work with the concepts of research, synthesis, MLA conventions, essay organization and construction, and expository composition. In this paper, you will choose a topic of your own about which to inform us. ÿGenetically Modified Organisms, Organic Farming, Global Warming, Mars Travel, Recycling, or about anything you might want to research a bit yourself will work. You will need to provide a particular focus and develop a research question that you will answer in your essay. In addition, you will need to acquire at least 4 credible and comprehensive sources of at least two ?types? to use in your essay. Of course, you can use more than four sources, but you must use at least 4. You must show synthesis of the information provided in these sources and correctly cite and document them using MLA conventions. You will find the JFK Library online data bases very helpful when researching your topic and we will be attending a library presentation to aid us in research. Be sure to get all of the necessary documentation information you will need when researching so that you won?t have to try to find the source again.
ÿ
What needs to be done is a research exercise, a ?fact finding? exercise. This paper is evidence of a thorough, balanced research of your topic. You need to explore more than one element of your topic: ethics, economics, applications, social, and/or any other relevant aspect of your topic that results from your research. For example, some elements of stem cell research are ethics, economics, social and religious, political, among others, or you might thoroughly research hydroponics as a part of continued deep space exploration or a moon habitation development. A balanced research would look at the position and presentation of those in favor and those opposed to continued stem cell research or space habitat development. From alternative energy to Physician Assisted Suicide, there are no shortages of qualified voices on all sides of an issue. Your job is to find them and represent them fairly in your paper.
THIS IS NOT AN ARGUMENT. While I believe that it is difficult to write anything without some form of persuasion involved, you must remember that your primary goal is to inform your audience. For this paper, your audience is assumed to be other first and second-year composition students who are interested in your topic.
