San Bernardino Valley College Art History of Surrealism Discussion

IntroductionThis week we take a look together at the history of Surrealism, as it formed in post-World War I Europe and as it has made its way into our wider culture up to today. The word ‘surrealism’ itself has become one way for describing the bizarre, the irrational, and even the hallucinatory. It seems very fitting to think about Surrealist art today as, over the past months life has been, arguably, very surreal, as we have collectively experienced the effects of the global pandemic. In the video below, we are introduced to Surrealist art. It argues the case for Surrealism, and why we should care about it.Watch the 10 minute video below provide on [1] fact that you learned from the video including its timing in the video. Then state why it stuck out to you. Please format your post like the example below:The catch: there is doubling up on facts. That means that you have to make sure that no other student in the class has posted the same fact as you.Best approach is to watch the video and write down 3-5 facts that stuck out to you. Then scroll through the discussion and check-out all of the other facts posted by the other members of the class and post a unique one that you found and which is not yet submitted by another classmate. Hint: The sooner you do the assignment, the easier it is.

San Bernardino Valley College Global Restrictions Discussion

During the COVID pandemic and due to global restrictions, many of us were ot been able to see artworks firsthand while museums were closed to the public. In an episode of the Art Assignment made during the pandemic, the presenter addresses this fact and makes a book of all the artworks she wishes she could see firsthand. For her, bringing these works together in a handmade book brings comfort during the crisis. You can watch video below. We have looked at many artworks over the past weeks and there might be some you were drawn to and even wish you could see firsthand. For this week’s thread, we are going to create our own ART 105 virtual art book rtworks we have explored in this class and would like to see in real life.Tell us: What artwork from the coursework do you want to see in real life? Select “reply” to enter your post. Make sure you answer the following points:These are some of the arts that we have studied

SCE Business Incidents for Ethical Reasoning Discussion

Your instructor will choose two incidents from the Short Incidents for Ethical Reasoning that follow Ch. 8 of your textbook.   After reading each incident, you must identify all relevant stakeholders and determine how they could be impacted by the decision that will be made, identify and apply at least one principle for ethical reasoning, and then consider alternative courses of action and choose the best course of action based on stakeholder impacts and the outcome of the application of the ethical principle. Your textbook defines stakeholders as an entity that is benefitted or burdened by the actions of a corporation or whose actions may benefit or burden the corporation.  Some common examples of stakeholders would include customers, employees, suppliers, stockholders, and the community.Businesses will almost always have multiple stakeholders, and many times their interests will conflict.  This means that a business decision-maker will frequently have to make a decision in the face of competing claims from different stakeholders.  The question of whose interests should be prioritized requires the exercise of judgment.  This skill?examining competing claims and deciding which one is the strongest?is called evaluation. You will want to consider the power, urgency, and legitimacy that each stakeholder presents. You should put yourselves in each stakeholder?s position? Why do they care about the outcome of the decision?  How will they be affected?  What outcome would they prefer?  What are their arguments in support of their preferred outcome? You will want to consider the power, urgency, and legitimacy that each stakeholder presents. Two of the videos below will give you a brief review of stakeholder theory and give you an idea of what skills you will be expected to demonstrate when you complete this assignment. Additionally, writing mechanics and grammar are graded as part of this assignment.  A video on improving mechanics in business writing is provided below to help refresh your memory. Viewing statistics will be collected and counted as part of the assignment?s grade. As a reminder, for each incident, be sure to identify all relevant stakeholders and determine how they could be impacted by the decision that will be made, identify and apply at least one principle for ethical reasoning, and then consider alternative courses of action and choose the best course of action based on stakeholder impacts and the outcome of the application of the ethical principle.

Science Homeland Security Discussion

You have covered a lot of material in the past month and a half. Your understanding of infrastructure is now based on theoretical knowledge, as well as on the applied knowledge you have learned from the discussions and from your own personal experience. You have a solid grasp of the infrastructure sectors and subsectors, the interplay between the levels of government, and the role of the private sector. We have witnessed a lot of epic disasters this past year, and the wildfires in California are surely the worst. Last year the hurricane that destroyed the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico was also devastating, and the list goes on. We are experiencing unique and frightening issues related to global warming and the rise in coastal waters, both causing significant challenges to our infrastructure today, and they will only get worse in the years ahead. There is always the ever present danger from natural and man-made disasters, and we are far enough into this course where I want to provide a forum for you to discuss and debate any or all of these issues, or others if they are relevant. That is the topic for this week’s discussion. As usual, I will monitor it but will leave it to you to manage the scope and direction of the narrative. I know that many of you will want to discuss issues related to cyber security, for example. Someone else might want to discuss the effects of a tornado that destroyed their home or community. The list of relevant topics is unending. What is of interest to you?

Science The Importance of Warning Discussion Response

reply to discussion post below:I think it is actually pretty funny that the topic of warning came up this week, well a funny coincidence at the least. I live in the state of Georgia, and this past week the Georgia Emergency Management & Homeland Security Agency (Georgia EM&HS) pushed out a statewide radiological hazard alert, warning everyone to locate their nearest fallout shelter immediately. Interestingly enough, people immediately took to social media with photos and screenshots of the warning, some frantically, asking if it was real and if there was actually a cause for concern. Personally, I was slightly concerned because there is a nuclear power plant not too far from my house. Later in the day, Georgia EM&HS reached out on Twitter, indicating that it was only a test, and that there was no radiological emergency. As you can imagine, a lot of people were angry that the word ?test? never actually appeared in any of the warnings. Not only people, but local state government agencies as well. Many agencies, especially those that run some of our critical infrastructure, have procedures and protocols in place to protect our CIKR in the event of a radiological emergency. In fact, DHS offers a five-day course called Radiological Emergency Response Operations (RERO PER-904), based along the guidelines set out by FEMA?s Radiological Emergency Preparedness Program, the EPA Manual, the Protective Action Guides and Protective Actions for Nuclear Incidents, and other federal regulations. So what could the consequences had been had our CIKR started radiological emergency procedures? Could there have been emergency shutdown of some of our resources in order to save them from the threat? This would obviously pose more danger to everyone in the state. It seems they could have very easily endangered quite a few people with this mistake. I guess that is another part of warnings and test warnings, the importance of clarification and quality control. Always have someone QC!

SEC 6030 WU Issues and Concerns with Patch Management Strategy Paper

This research paper will focus on issues and concerns with Patch  Management.  With the advent of many types of software and systems,  patch management is major nightmare.  Patching the system may cause the  system to crash, and not patching it can leave it vulnerable to  attacks.  Please research the issues and concerns with patch management  and provide your views on the topic. Please consider this at an  enterprise level where the complexity is increased exponentially with  the increase in the number of systems.

Science Social Networks Discussion

reply to discussion belowI learned a lot of things from this course. I learned to always have the most updated software, so you have less of a chance to be hacked. I learned to be aware of spam and things that you open up even including email attachments. This class is very useful for my future computer related activities. I am on the computer 90% of the time at work, and will continue to be for school. They are useful for me so I can show others, tell others the importance of security on the computer, potential hackers and just regular computer skills that can affect your computer in a positive or negative way. All of the information is very crucial, I think the more people know about security software, how to protect yourself and other computer related things people would be a lot more careful and we would have to deal lot less, hacking, or have such high potential of people retrieving your information that is not meant for others especially in a work setting for me working at a defense company if your computer gets hacked or spam, it is destroyed.
