This assignment will allow you to demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to search for and discuss two papers using a range of pre-selected Databases. You are required to source papers by using a combination of search terms from the pre-determined list below. This will enable you to look at cross-field issues which may relate to your practice.

You may use as many of these pre-selected Databases as you wish but please do not use any other databases. You are required to use a selection of TWO search terms that will be applicable across all fields.

You will be required to:

Identify and apply methods to gather information from a variety of authoritative sources to inform nursing theory and practice (LO2)

Give a rationale for your choice of search terms (why is this topic important? Support this with a reference(s))

State which databases were selected and give a rationale for your choice, supported with a reference(s).

Outline your search strategy (How did you arrive at your chosen papers?)

You must state your inclusion and exclusion criteria, for example, articles not older than 10 years, articles that have been peer reviewed, articles which are available in English.

You are advised to choose research studies and avoid editorials, opinion pieces and book chapters 300 words

• Identify your chosen article including the author(s) and date.

• Give an overview of your chosen article and outline the purpose (a summary of this can often be found in the abstract).

• Your description of the article should include the findings, as well as any implications for patients/carers/organisations and any recommendations for practice or further research.

• You must support your discussion with appropriate references (For example, are your study’s findings supported by other authors/studies?) Remember to do the above for each article in turn. 500 words
