Do you think Covey’s approach to organizing your life is consistent with a Christian worldview? Pick just one particular idea from what you have read in this module or last and discuss that. Evaluate whether it is consistent with a Christian worldview. Use citations from Covey and from Scripture to support your point. You should not pick the entire reading as a topic; instead, pick one specific portion or idea.

1.Do you think Covey’s approach to organizing your life is consistent with a Christian worldview? Pick just one particular idea from what you have read in this module or last and discuss that. Evaluate whether it is consistent with a Christian worldview. Use citations from Covey and from Scripture to support your point. You should not pick the entire reading as a topic; instead, pick one specific portion or idea. For instance, you could talk about the dichotomy between production and production capability or the idea of having a mission statement, but you wouldn’t want to assess an entire chapter and everything in it. Try not to pick something too obvious.

Social movements are usually caused by disruptions in society based on a need for social change. Social movements can start from a grassroots level, like the Me Too Movement, or from changes at a macro-level, such as gun policies by politicians.
Identify a social issue happening in the United States today that is relevant to your interests and that you would like to see changed. You can choose a micro-level problem, such as speeding in your neighborhood, or a macro-level problem, such as racial inequality. Examples include problems such as graffiti in parks, gang violence, illegal immigration, gender inequality, police brutality, online bullying, destruction of community property, personal property theft, parking violations, speeding, improper disposal of pet waste, gun laws, or legalization of marijuana.
Imagine that you are part of a social movement or a local community forum that has formed around this issue to address the need for social change.
Create a 6- to 10-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation on a social movement for change in your community that you could share with local politicians or other influential leaders.
Include the following in your presentation, using speaker notes as needed for details:

Describe the current factors that are influencing the social issue you would like to change.
Provide at least 2–3 examples that explain why this social issue is a problem for your community or society.
Describe the social issue through the lens of one of these theoretical perspectives:
Functionalism
Conflict
Symbolic interactionism
Describe the social structures you would recommend to address this issue. Explain the need for these social structures and their potential impact on creating social change.
Explain how a movement for social change in this issue could affect society. For example, changes in gun control laws may reduce the number of single-person shootings.
Submit your assignment.

Summarize the target population: Use your knowledge of your community to provide context and illustrate the dynamics of the population.

Write a 2,100- to 2,800-w0rd needs assessment. Use the following sections to organize your pap3r:

Summarize the target population: Use your knowledge of your community to provide context and illustrate the dynamics of the population. You may wish to incorporate details like demographics, social structure, community culture, history, values, and even its infrastructure.
Examples of a target population:
trauma survivors
preschool children with autism-spectrum disorders
adults in a substance-abuse treatment program
homeless individuals
client advocates
parents
administrators
human services professionals
Describe this population?s perceived need(s).
Incorporate relevant research from your literature review in the Week 5 Needs Assessment Part 1 assignment.
If necessary, read additional articles on the topic so you are well-versed in the needs of a particular population.
As needed, include existing data from published studies in this section of your report.
Describe the current status of the population in your community.
For example, if you are interested in addressing the needs of homeless people in your community, describe the services and resources currently available and accessible to this population. Many needs may already be met by existing programs and services. Describe these needs.
You might also wish to describe the evolution of the population. What changes has this population experienced in recent years? What has remained the same? How might the population change in the future?
Create one additional strategy for collecting information about the needs of the target population (in addition to reading literature and interviewing specialists).
For example, you may decide to administer a questionnaire or organize a focus group. Discuss your strategy in detail. If there is already a validated questionnaire that is relevant to the group you are assessing, describe it. If not, describe the type of instrument that would be useful in assessing the needs of the target population. For additional information on needs assessment strategies, conduct additional internet research.
Create a general plan for data analysis.
Although you will not actually collect data, determine which approach (mixed methods, survey, or action research) you would most likely use. Provide rationale for your answer.
Once you have collected data, either qualitative or quantitative, you need to analyze and interpret it. Explain how you would do this.
Describe 1-2 potential interventions or strategies for addressing your target population?s need(s).
Typically, the next step in a needs assessment is to analyze the data and use the results to plan appropriate interventions. Because you are only planning and not actually conducting a needs assessment, you will not have actual data to analyze and use. However, you may still anticipate the needs of a given population by reflecting on the information you have gathered
For example, if the information you gleaned from research articles and your key informant suggests that the homeless population in your community needs education on existing mental health services, you may develop a plan for helping the homeless population learn more about community mental health services currently available to them. In other words, you can devise a strategy for increasing awareness of mental health services. Keep in mind your plan will be general and tentative because you have not actually analyzed data.

Cite a minimum of five scholarly r3ferences.

Describe your relationship with food. What about your attempt to eat a wholesome diet, incorporating whole foods (fruits and vegetables), healthy meats, and good, nutritious snacks (yeah, right) — how is that working out for you?

Remember to incorporate into your assessment, information from at least two of the articles and essays you have read, at least two of the documentaries or other films you have screened, and any personal reading or research you have done to date.
Keep in the back of your mind:
How are these messages in line with yours or totally different?
Do you think anyone in any of these films or essays has a strong point?
Is there something you saw or read you would like to incorporate into your beliefs or action?
The way we eat reflects the way we treat and regard animals. You can write about human dependency on animals for food. You may even consider the unhealthy consumption of junk food: we eat cows and their cheese (hamburgers and cheese burgers); cows give us high cholesterol. But the liver makes all the cholesterol the human body needs — some livers make too much — so do we really need cow cholesterol?
It’s not just great tasting hamburgers that taunt us. It is so difficult to eat a diet full of fresh produce. Whole Foods and Ralph’s are two of the most expensive stores in the world. Northgate AND Trader Joe’s have very little organic food. Food4Less . . . well, let’s not even go there (literally). Even the stores with prices in between charge “a grip” for whole fresh food. You can get 20 packs of Top Ramen (2.00) for the price of one bunch of kale (1.99).
Trying to eat right is a pain. But, eat right we must.
How do you navigate the headache of not enough money to even afford the things you want to eat, forget about the things you know you should eat?
Describe your relationship with food. What about your attempt to eat a wholesome diet, incorporating whole foods (fruits and vegetables), healthy meats, and good, nutritious snacks (yeah, right) — how is that working out for you?
What is your definition of health and wellbeing? What do you consider a wholesome diet? How do you maintain, sustain, or completely fail at eating right and staying well? What are some of the challenges of life’s pace and your attempt to stay functional?
Or, you can take a look at the bigger picture. What is going on between human being and alleged food? What of our dependency on corporate food? How is the world (and or you) responding to the current food crises in US cities?
You may construct a narrative written from your point of view. Remember, however, synthesis is key to a strong essay. Take the information from the films and readings and bring it together with your personal beliefs and practices in some rational, reasoned way.

To encourage students to be independent lifelong learners, the IB curriculum uses an inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning. As Inquirers, “we nurture our curiosity, developing skills for inquiry and research. We know how to learn independently and with others.
