Identify & explain the techniques used specific to the type of advertisement.

Essay 3: Analyzing an Advertisement
The Advertisement
Remember that you want an ad that will provide you with enough to analyze so that you can write an entire essay about it. If you choose one that is too simple to analyze, then your writing (and probably your grade) will suffer.
Take a screenshot, copy and paste, or save the link (if a commercial) of the ad and save it. You will need to include this either on the first page of your essay or, if it’s a link, you can provide it in the introduction. If your instructor cannot view the ad, they will not be able to properly assess your analysis.
The Advertisement
Prompt: Select a school-appropriate advertisement and write a five-paragraph essay (minimum) with a minimum of 2 full pages of your own writing in which you complete the following tasks:
Lesson 4.1:
Determine the type of advertisement (brand, retail, directory, political, direct response, native, or PSA).
Identify the target audience.
Identify & explain the techniques used specific to the type of advertisement.
Lesson 4.2:
Identify & explain the general advertising techniques used (repetition, bandwagon, nostalgia, endorsement).
Identify & explain any propaganda included in the ad.
Lesson 4.3:
Identify & explain the visual techniques used in the ad (color psychology, the rule of thirds, body language, focal point).
Lesson 4.4:
Analyze the placement, word choice, and visual techniques used in the text features of the ad (headline, subhead, copy, call-to-action, & images).
Identify whether or not the ad could qualify as “clickbait.”
Objectively summarize the analysis of the advertisement.

CASE STUDY ASSIGNMENT: ASSESSMENT OF NUTRITION IN CHILDREN
Assignment: (3–4 pages, not including title and reference pages): Child Health Case:

When seeking to identify a patient’s health condition, advanced practice nurses can use a diverse selection of diagnostic tests and assessment tools; however, different factors affect the validity and reliability of the results produced by these tests or tools. Nurses must be aware of these factors to select the most appropriate test or tool and to accurately interpret the results.
Not only do these diagnostic tests affect adults, but body measurements can also provide a general picture of whether a child is receiving adequate nutrition or is at risk for health issues. These data, however, are just one aspect to be considered. Lifestyle, family history, and culture—among other factors—are also relevant. That said, gathering and communicating this information can be a delicate process.
For this Assignment, you will consider examples of children with various weight issues. You will explore how you could effectively gather information and encourage parents and caregivers to be proactive about their children’s health and weight.

Applying Jean Watson’s Theory on Human Caring/Caring Science Core Principles to APN Practice

Discussion Prompt
Jean Watson’s Theory of  Human Caring/Caring Science is one theoretical framework used throughout the many College of Nursing courses. The practice implication of Watson’s Human Caring Theory evolves our thinking and approaches to patient care from a mindset of carative (cure) to one of caritas (care). The core principles/practice are founded on a:
Practice of loving-kindness and equanimity
Authentic presence: enabling deep belief of other (patient, colleague, family, etc.)
Cultivation of one’s own spiritual practice toward wholeness of mind/body/spirit—beyond ego
“Being” the caring-healing environment
Allowing miracles (openness to the unexpected and inexplicable life events)
Some individuals are comfortable framing their practice with Watson while others prefer different theories or a collection of theories. However, Watson is based on caring which is a foundation of nursing. Anyone could use the core principles to guide decision making. Select one of the core principles and discuss ways you might be able to apply the principle in guiding your advanced practice nursing practices.

Discussion
Answers to the 6 questions on primary care medication management. Provide your responses and rationales. Support your rationales with high-level evidence. (See Post Expectations).
An obese patient, age 45, comes to your office. She recently moved from another state three weeks ago and told you that her FNP diagnosed her with type 2 diabetes mellitus. She is currently not on any medicine for her diabetes, and she wishes to avoid insulin, if possible. She is a non-smoker. Her blood pressure is 138/74 mmHg. Labs from 3-weeks ago was hemoglobin A1C = 8.4%; total cholesterol = 260 mg/dL, triglycerides = 290 mg/dL, HDL = 49 mg/dL, LDL = 170 mg/dL (calculated 10-year ASCVD risk = 6.2%). You discuss current treatment goal recommendations endorsed by the ADA regarding glycemic control, blood pressure control, and lipid management. She agrees to start any medications that you recommend with lifestyle modification and a DASH diet to treat hypertension.
Q1. Which classes of diabetes medications are either weight neutral or cause weight loss? Please give one (1) example of a drug’s generic and trade name in that class.
Q2. Based on the current guidelines of the ADA, it would be appropriate to treat her with monotherapy since the patient is hesitant to take any injections. What agent would you recommend? Please provide the trade name, generic name, the dose you would start the patient with frequency, and route.
Q3. What are the contraindications of your selected diabetic therapy?
The patient returns to your office six months later complaining of fatigue for the past two months, constipation, and heavy, irregular menses. Upon examination, you note that her skin is dry, and her fingernails are brittle. You suspect she has hypothyroidism.
Q4. What lab workup should you obtain? What sort of results will you see in patients who have hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism?
Q5. What is the treatment of choice for hypothyroidism? What is the mechanism of action? Please provide the initial dose, trade, and generic name of the drug, route, and frequency.
Q6. What are the adverse effects, and what important teaching will you provide this patient on thyroid replacement therapy?

Briefly explain why customizing your strategy is motivational.

Introduction
Throughout this course, you have been developing a plan to motivate your employees at Hometown Cars by investing in your team, setting goals, giving feedback, and using competition and rewards. Now it is time to bring all those pieces together to create a final motivational game plan for Hometown Cars.
Scenario
Hometown Cars has suffered challenges over the last several months since the previous general manager left the organization. Because the company did not have a succession plan in place, the sales manager, service manager, and parts manager attempted to run the organization on their own, without real leadership and without feeling fully empowered to make decisions. As a result, sales have been down company-wide, and there have been several personnel issues surrounding lack of motivation. As the new general manager, you have been developing a motivational game plan for Hometown Cars that includes investing in your team, giving feedback and setting goals, and using competition and rewards in order to motivate your employees.
Instructions
Complete your Motivational Game Plan and submit it to the CEO of Hometown Cars for review. The final game plan brings together the parts you previously developed and identifies a strategy for using motivation to build leaders at Hometown Cars. Label the parts of your plan as indicated in these instructions:
Summary
Summarize in 1–2 paragraphs how you will apply Part 1 of your Motivational Game Plan – Investing in Your Team Members. Include satisfying intrinsic and extrinsic needs.
Goal Setting and Feedback
In 1–2 paragraphs, summarize how you will apply Part 2 of your Motivational Game Plan – Goal Setting and Feedback. Explain how feedback and backwards planning to set goals are used to motivate the Hometown Cars teams.
Competition and Rewards
In 1–2 paragraphs, summarize Part 3 of your Motivational Game Plan, how you will use Competition and Rewards to motivate the teams.
Building Leaders
+Complete this part of your assignment in 1–2 pages.
Briefly explain why customizing your strategy is motivational.
Develop three strategies that you propose Hometown Cars will use to build leaders in the future. These strategies should help the team avoid what happened when the last general manager left, and the company started to decline. You can use any or all of the strategies addressed in the Coach’s Huddle from Week 10. Each strategy should include the following information:
The category: Challenging people, rotating leadership, professional development, mentoring, or succession planning.
The details on how that strategy will be carried out.
An explanation of how that strategy will affect motivation at the company.

What are some of the considerations that would determine if a qualitative descriptive research design would be appropriate for a given study?

You have just been assigned as a project lead to a research team that is tasked with framing a potential qualitative descriptive study. Using your expert understanding of qualitative descriptive research, what would you suggest to the principal investigator (PI) regarding the use of a qualitative descriptive design? What are some of the considerations that would determine if a qualitative descriptive research design would be appropriate for a given study? What are strengths and limitations of this type of research design?

Develop a problem statement for this query using a qualitative descriptive design.

Imagine you are serving on the board of a for-profit educational services company. Staff communicate to the board their concerns about the transition from foster care to independence for young adults who have reached the age of 18. These individuals are no longer eligible to be in the foster care system. Of particular concern is their self-esteem through this transition. There is extensive quantitative research in the scholarly literature regarding the function of self-esteem in such a transition, but a dearth of qualitative research on the topic. You want to assist staff in providing adequate support for this client population by commissioning an internal qualitative study to better understand the phenomenon and improve their transitions. Develop a problem statement for this query using a qualitative descriptive design. What would be the purpose of the study? What research questions would you ask? Justify each response in reference to the nature of qualitative descriptive design.
