Develop a costing scheme to determine the estimated fit out cost for the designated space.

Context

With a greater emphasis on health and wellbeing, more Australians are participating in functional fitness to improve their lifestyle. Staff and students at TAFE Queensland are embracing this, by requesting a fully operational gym to access during staffed hours. TAFE Queensland have the equipment to fit out the gym; however, they need a designated space and materials specific to the demands of a gym.

Task

You are to develop a report for TAFE Queensland management, who want to design a floor plan for a functional gym space for TAFE Queensland – Alexandra Hills campus. Your design must include the necessary details for a fit out – including flooring, air conditioning, windows, paint and any included mirrors.

In this report, you will:

  • Analyse the dimensions of the floor space (including tables, figures and diagrams).
  • Draw a scale plan of the gym floor plan.
  • Identify selected features suitable to meet the needs of the gym
  • Develop a costing scheme to determine the estimated fit out cost for the designated space.

Your teacher will give you information about the room dimensions, ventilation requirements, gym requirements and material costs.

To complete this task, you must:

  • consider the stimulus information
  • use your knowledge of the subject matter in Unit 3 Topics 1–2 to investigate the problem
  • ensure you are covering both simple and complex subject matter
  • ensure your response demonstrates characteristics in the instrument-specific standards
  • develop a unique response in a coherent and concise written format that is appropriate to the genre, and includes a suitable introduction, body and conclusion
  • show all calculations to support your response
  • follow the approach to problem-solving and mathematical modelling used in the syllabus
  • use a spreadsheet to demonstrate relevant
Alternative work arrangements like part-time employment, subcontracting, and freelancing have been growing at the expense of full-time employment: A good thing or a bad thing?

Description The Gig Economy: Alternative work arrangements like part-time employment, subcontracting, and freelancing have been growing at the expense of full-time employment: A good thing or a bad thing? Is it good for employees? Good for employers? Is it a problem or a solution? Two-page paper Each paper includes a summary and analysis of two articles: one from a popular business publication such as ***IMPORTANT** Harvard Business Review, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and BBC, and the other from a peer-reviewed academic journal. You’re going to write two doublespaced pages in which you’ll examine and combine the ideas from both publications. Use APA style for in-text citations and references. You are free to use as many references as you want. After you’ve finished your annotations, think about how the ideas in both articles may help you write your debate paper and write your two-page analysis based on that. The assignment’s two objectives are as follows: Write a brief (2-page) analysis paper that connects the two pieces; consider how your thoughts may be applied to the debate paper and write it accordingly. 4/6/2022 Writers Hub – Freelance Writing https://www.writershub.org/writer/orders/852879#instructions 2/2 Additional tips: This assignment is meant to help you build your writing for the final term/team paper by: • Researching the topic and finding suitable academic and practitioners articles • Reading, summarizing, and evaluating the articles • Reflect on whether and how you will use the articles in your final paper. You will therefore write the following for each of the two articles: • Summarize: Some annotations are nothing more than a summary of the source. What are the key points of contention? What purpose does this book or article serve? What are the topics covered? What would you say if someone asked you what this article/book is about? The length of your annotations will determine your summary’s level of information. • Evaluate: After summarizing a source, it’s good to evaluate it. Is it a good resource? In what ways does it differ from the other sources in your bibliography? Is the information trustworthy? Is this a biased or objective source? What is the source’s purpose? • Consider: How a source fits into your study after summarizing and evaluating it. Was this information helpful to you? What role does it play in shaping your argument? How can you incorporate this source into your research? Has it influenced the way you think about your subject?” (OWL at Purdue University: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/general writing/common writing assignments/annotated bibliographies/index.html)

Case Study

Topic: Traditional sports versus ‘virtual’ sports: is there a legitimate place for both in schools?

Virtual sports which replicate actual sports, and e-Sports (video game competitions which are generally strategy and fighting games) are becoming increasingly sophisticated in terms of their ability to simulate the action of real sports and physical activity. These are being trialled at your old school and you have been asked for your opinion on this innovation.

Do you think that virtual sports have the potential to replace actual participation in sport, or are they useful only as a supplement to existing programs?

Where do e-Sports fit in?

Drawing on research and your own experiences and emphasising the differences/similarities and benefits or otherwise of the experiences of actual versus virtual and/or e-sport, put forward your case either for or against the introduction of such a program.

If you are in favour, explain how you would implement such a program and consider the impact on key stakeholders including students, staff and parents, and how they might respond. Include definitions or explanations of key elements and phrases, including the definition of ‘sport’ and your understanding of what sports should involve or include to meet the needs of the participants.
