What compromises might you have to make in terms of the interactive features that wouldn’t now be viable?

Select any example visualization or infographic and imagine the contextual factors have changed:

  1. If the selected project was a static work, what ideas do you have for potentially making it usefully interactive? How might you approach the design if it had to work on both mobile/tablet and desktop?
  2. If the selected project was an interactive work, what ideas do you have for potentially deploying the same project as a static work? What compromises might you have to make in terms of the interactive features that wouldn’t now be viable?
  3. What about the various annotations that could be used? Thoroughly explain all of the annotations, color, composition, and other various components to the visualization.
  4. What other data considerations should be considered and why?
  5. Update the graphic using updated data, in the tool of your choice (that we’ve used in the course), explain the differences.

Be sure to show the graphic (before and after updates) and then answer the questions fully above.  This assignment should take into consideration all the course concepts in the book.  Be very thorough in your response.  The paper should be at least three pages in length and contain at least two-peer reviewed sources.

Do you think parole or early release should be an option? Explain your reasoning and justification for your decision.

In some States, when a person is convicted of first-degree murder and there is no death penalty, they are given a sentence of “Life, without parole.”

  • Do you think parole or early release should be an option? Explain your reasoning and justification for your decision.
  • Discuss the relationship between prison population and sentencing policies.
Identify one specific policy or law that your chosen organization is currently supporting.

The Effects of Public Policy
As you have learned, public policy is shaped by many factors and therefore evolves over time. For this assignment, you will focus on a specific advocacy organization and identify a policy or law that connects to the chosen organization. This will give you the opportunity to see this evolution within an actual organization and how it affects issues of politics, ethics, integrity, and society.
Your paper should be 5–6 pages in length. Choose an advocacy organization local to you. Then provide the following information:
Identify your chosen organization and supply a brief history of it.
Identify and briefly (in 1–2 paragraphs) explain the problem(s) or issue(s) that the organization is intended to address.
Define the stated mission goal(s) of the organization. Has its mission goal(s) changed over time? If so, how?
Identify one specific policy or law that your chosen organization is currently supporting. Provide information about the policy or law as well and why the organization is supporting it. Be sure to include information on how the organization is supporting that policy or law.
Thinking about the information above, in your opinion, has the organization been successful in achieving its mission goal(s)? Why or why not?
Use at least four sources to support your writing. Choose sources that are credible, relevant, and appropriate. Cite each source listed on your sources page at least one time within your assignment. For help with research, writing, and citing sources, access the library or review library guides.

It is now time to showcase your completed class project representing your selected public agency or nonprofit organization. The presentation will be reviewed by VP of Public Services. Attendance will also consist of client support, as well as the leaders of the agency for which you are working. Part of your presentation goal will be to provoke curiosity and evoke concern.
Instructions
For this assignment, you will create a presentation with 6–8 content slides that summarize the key attributes of your agency research during the course, plus make the additional slides indicated in the Strayer Writing Standards (SWS) PowerPoint/SlideShow Checklist.
The Strayer University Library provides a SWS Sample Slideshow and SWS Slideshow Template. Title each slide to agree with the content of the slide, and make sure your slides follow the design guidelines in the Strayer Writing Standards.

Considering the relationship, the crime he committed, and the item he is requesting, what do you do? Why?

You are a corrections officer in a facility and have been for 13 years. There is an inmate, who has been there as long as you and is in custody for embezzlement. You and he have become “friends” over the years and often sit and discuss current affairs, etc. He asks you a favor for the first time and wants to know if you could bring him an item, that is not contraband, (i.e. drugs, weapons, alcohol, etc.) and is not available in the prison canteen. The item is a certain type of hat only available online. He offers to cover the cost from his savings by having the bank transfer issue you a check.

Considering the relationship, the crime he committed, and the item he is requesting, what do you do? Why?

Briefly paraphrase the maxims you’ve chosen   and explain why they are important values.

The American Dream lecture in Week 1 points out that Poor Richard’s Almanac was an annual publication that included calendar lists, home recipes, weather forecasts, etc. What made Franklin’s almanac unlike other almanacs was the inclusion of Franklin’s witty parables and humorous writings. The maxims below relate to Franklin’s ideas of working hard, avoiding debt, and working toward attaining a virtuous character. Choose three maxims and align them with a character or characters in The Color Purple. For example, you might choose Celie from The Color Purple and discuss maxims 1, 4, and 6. You will be providing quotes from the film you select to support your observations about each character/maxim

1.”There are no gains without pains”

4. “He that lives upon hope will die fasting”

Your thesis statement should follow this template:
