Unit 4: week 4 – written assignment

This assignment is worth 6 points of the total course grade.

Description: Outline of Instructional Strategy/System Support Solution. Prepare a 2-3 page outline of the instructional strategy or system support solution you are planning. Include a minimum of two peer-reviewed articles and any other relevant resources you have identified. The outline will have 2 to 3 levels and may be a sentence or topical outline. References must be in APA 6 format. During week 1 you identified an instructional strategy or system support solution you wanted to investigate during this class. Your colleagues offered you feedback on the situation, and you might even have read and critiqued two articles on the situation. Instructional Strategy. Instructional strategies can outline a way to develop instructional material, establish a way to evaluate current information, revise either of the two above, or used as a framework for planning units of a curriculum. Strategies include group discussions, independent readings, case studies, computer simulations, and collaborative group efforts to name just a few. Approaches can specify sequencing, learning components )objectives, prerequisites, stimulation, motivation, feedback), assessment, learner grouping, media, conditions of learning, creation of a new and innovative strategy or re-working a tried and familiar one adapting to the current situation. Carey and Dick (1991) have developed summative evaluation questions for an instructional strategy that you might want to consider: 1. “Are introductory of pre-instructional activities included? 2. Are the content, sequence, scope, and pace of the presentation appropriate for the goal, the learners, the medium and the setting? 3. Are practice or rehearsal activities congruent with the objectives of the instruction (conditions, behavior, context)? 4. Is the feedback to learners informative in terms of illuminating the criteria, providing models of correct responses, or explaining correct solutions and common mistakes? 5. Are performance tests congruent with the goals and objectives of the instruction, the characteristics of learners, and the pace of instruction (too soon/late)? 6. Are follow-through activities for remediation, enrichment, or linkage to subsequent instruction included?” (p. 275) Here you will outline your instructional strategy and include support from three to five different scholarly articles. Identify additional work needed to complete this project. Make sure you check the rubric before submitting the assignment. System Support Solution. This option is a little more flexible in the structure of the solution. As mentioned earlier, a system support solution can include an issue related to globalization, achievement gaps, enrollment risks, training, software support, data integration, networking, or processing documentation to name just a few examples. You would probably choose this option if you are going to be specializing in Distance Learning. Although the paper for this option will probably create its own structure dependent upon the nature of the issue being investigated, some guidelines to consider include. 1. Diagnosis and analysis of situation 2. Application of appropriate models, theories, and conceptual frameworks 3. Steps needed to complete project 4. Three possible avenues to solve the issue 5. How to decide the best approach 6. What will success look like? 7. How will you measure it? 8. What sorts of problems do you anticipate? 9. What research materials will you need to access? Here you will outline your System Support Solution and include support from three to five different scholarly articles. Make sure you check the rubric before submitting the assignment. Democracy | Social Science homework help

I would like one paragraph for each question, please provide reference APA format.

(1)What is the true definition of democracy?

(2)As we have seen through our readings, governments differ on where the power of the state should be held.
Unitary systems concentrate the power within the central government and little or no authority is granted to the component areas. In contrast, federal systems allow first-order civil divisions to have some autonomy, while the central government maintains authority over some areas.
Take a moment to compare and contrast the strengths and weaknesses of each system.

Unit 5 forensic science lab questions

Crime Scene: Processing Evidence
Imagine that you’ve been working with the CSI and Police Department in your local area as lead forensic scientist for quite a few years now. The department has recently put a young, brand new forensic scientist to work on a case with you, so they can better learn the ropes from a seasoned vet like yourself! The two of you are on your way to investigate a crime scene where a dead body was found just a few hours ago. Of course, it’s imperative that you teach the new forensic scientist the proper way to handle evidence and an investigation!
Crime Scene:
You walk up to the crime scene. A dead body is lying on the bank of the river, just a few miles outside of the city. There is a bullet wound on the victim’s chest where it appears a bullet entered the body.
There are a few bullets that have been found scattered near the body of the victim. You can see that a gun is resting on the bottom of the river in the shallow end near the shore.
Do some online research regarding what should be done first at any crime scene and how evidence should be processed. Based on your research, and what you learned in the unit, answer the questions.
1. Discuss the first things you should teach your new partner to do as you approach the crime scene.
2. Explain how you and your partner should go about handling the gun found at the bottom of the river? What are some things to keep in mind?.
3.How should you and your partner go about handling the bullets found near the body of the victim?
4. What information might you be able to find from the gun and bullets found at the crime scene?
5. As we know, it is very important to handle evidence at a crime scene properly. If clues and evidence are mishandled, it could ruin an entire investigation! Conduct some additional online research on your own. Find an article that describes a crime scene where evidence was mishandled. Share the link to the article you found and write a paragraph or two to describe how the scene was mishandled and how this impacted the case. Include advice on how the investigation could have been better managed and how the scene and evidence should have been handled.

Film: obedience stanley milgram | Social Science homework help

Due: March 16, 2013Film: Obedience Stanley Milgramhttp://www.dailymotion.com/video/xlllu7_stranley-milgram-obedience_school#.UT_ecVeOySo
After watching the video, answer the following questions.
1)    Despite the protests of the “learner” (a 50-year-old man who supposedly had a heart condition), none of the “teachers” challenged the process before they had applied 225 volts. Two-thirds of the participants went all the way to what could have been a deadly volt of electricity if the shock generator had been real. Why did the “teachers” continue to punish the “learners”?
2)    What conclusion(s) does the researcher Stanley Milgram draw about peoples obedience to authority?
3)    What implications does this have for a democracy?

Final project: leadership assessment | SOCW 6070 – Supervision, Leadership, and Administration in Social Work Organizations | Walden University

Earlier in the course, you were asked to informally evaluate your leadership skills and qualities. In this Final Project, you use formal assessment tools to identify your areas of strength and areas in which you need further development. You may use the results of this self-assessment to develop a plan to gain the skills and experiences that will help you move toward achieving your short- and long-term professional goals and objectives.
Using the assessment tools provided in Introduction to Leadership: Concepts and Practice, conduct a self-assessment of your own leadership characteristics, style, and skills. Complete at least four assessment tools for this self-assessment. In addition, select one tool to give to a colleague or supervisor so he or she can assess your leadership skills.
Final Project (2–4 pages in APA format)
Evaluate your current leadership characteristics, style, and skills based on the assessment tools you and your colleague/supervisor completed. Be sure to:

Include actual results or summaries of the results you collected using these tools.
Identify personal leadership strengths as well as areas for improvement.
Include references to the leadership concepts covered in this course and relevant issues related to ethics, diversity, and power in the organizational setting.
