One of my favorites is to use one of VR headsets to watch movies, you can view movie anywhere from the beach to the Moon. When playing PC games, I use some specially customized HCIs, to the point that when I must play games without them and can only use a basic keyboard and mouse, I must relearn to play the game. this is a real negative and has caused me too no longer play games on my laptop.  Over the years, there has been new paraphernalia in which to interface with my games, adapting to new HCIs is what I have become accustomed to do.

These acts are created as a precaution, so we are better protected and prepared for the possible next attack, without the devastating turmoil that comes with it. Contract   Intelligence Reform Act   After 9/11, the intelligence agencies were unprepared for the new enemy, so they needed to adapt to the “post Cold War” environment and needed to learn of the new enemies that pose a threat by making it a priority for law makers. This act focused on the structure of intelligence and what needed to be enhanced. The central leadership lacked institutional and budgetary power that prevented the influence to lead, direct, or coordinate. Information sharing was that the structures and policies were impeded and prevented from sharing important intelligence through agencies. Prior setting, collection and analysis, and human capital were not sufficient. The attacks and concerns created a sense of urgency to bring on this reform effort. (Rosenbach, Peritz, 2009.)   USA Patriot Act   This act purposes measures on how to handle terrorist acts and enhance law enforcement tools to secure the country more efficiently. It will help strengthen procedures that help prevent, detect, and prosecute acts of financing terrorism. This week I have chosen an article that discusses the role inductors play in electronics such as power supplies. The article discusses that inductors consist of insulated wire that is commonly wound into a coil. Inductors come in many different shapes such as circular and rectangular shapes. They also contain a magnetic wire that prevents the risk of shortages that may be caused by the inductor. Inductors are produced with precious conductive materials such as copper and iron which makes them relatively expensive. Inductors are used in power supplies to prevent any quick or sudden changes in current and the output of voltage. Our textbook on page 937 states “An inductor acts to oppose changes in the current through it”. Also, the textbook states “An inductor is a device that can be used to produce a known magnetic field in a specified region.”. In concluding our textbook’s statements, an inductor works by storing emf and then releasing it back into the circuit to prevent a spike in current and to try and regulate the current back to normal. Inductors can be found in a plethora of other electronics such as televisions, radios, and telecommunication equipment, and serves the same function as their application in power supplies. Inductors are simple components but are still very fundamental in the field of electronic design, without inductors we may not have many of the modern electronics that we use on a daily basis. Second postTransformers in Aviation Transformers are devices that facilitate the transfer of electrical energy between different voltage levels. They operate on the principle of electromagnetic induction, where the changing magnetic field generated by alternating current (AC) in the primary coil induces a voltage in the secondary coil.In a transformer, there are two coils of wire, the primary coil and the secondary coil, which are wound around a shared iron core. The primary coil is connected to the power source, while the secondary coil is connected to the load or the device that requires electrical energy. When AC flows through the primary coil, it creates an alternating magnetic field in the iron core.This changing magnetic field induces a voltage in the secondary coil through electromagnetic induction. The voltage induced in the secondary coil depends on the turns ratio between the primary and secondary coils. By varying the number of turns in each coil, transformers can step up or step down the voltage.Step-up transformers increase the voltage from the primary to the secondary coil. They have a higher number of turns in the secondary coil, resulting in an increased voltage output. Step-down transformers, on the other hand, decrease the voltage from the primary to the secondary coil. They have fewer turns in the secondary coil, resulting in a reduced voltage output.The ability to change voltage levels is what makes transformers essential in various applications, including aviation. Transformers are used to convert high voltage power generated by power stations to lower voltage levels suitable for homes, businesses, and different electrical devices. They ensure efficient power distribution, minimize energy losses, and match the voltage requirements of specific systems or components.In aviation, transformers are utilized for tasks such as voltage conversion, power distribution, and regulation. They play a crucial role in adapting power supply characteristics to meet the specific requirements of various aircraft systems, including lighting, communication, avionics, and more. Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Response

To help you with your discussion, please consider the following questions:What did you learn from your classmate’s posting?What additional questions do you have after reading the posting?  The IRTPA of 2004 was reformed due to the Intelligence Community’s (IC) inability to prevent the September 11th attacks and inaccuracies in the 2002 National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction. Before the attacks of September 11th the intelligence agencies were only focused on one enemy and after the attacks law makers made it a top priority to create intelligence reform.  According to Rosenbach and Peritz (2009), “The IRTPA created a new cabinet called the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) which replaced the ‘dual hatted’ Director of Central Intelligence and the independent leader of the nation’s intelligence enterprise.” IRTPA created the National Counter Terrorism Center, Privacy and Civil Liberties Board, mandated improvements with boarder security and transportation, immigration and customs investigators, establish minimum standards for ID’s and drivers licenses, and creates new crimes and criminal penalties to combat terrorism (Center for Strategic & International Studies, 2004).The USA PATRIOT Act of 2004 main objective is to deter and punish terrorist attacks and allows law enforcement the rights to identify, prevent and disrupt terrorist acts. The act was used to modify United States communication, intelligence, and privacy laws. The need to protect rights and liberties of US citizens and punish acts of discrimination and violence is also part of the USA PATRIOT act. The USA PATRIOT Act has been reformed a few times over the years reauthorizing the act. Some of the acts that were modified by the USA PATRIOT Act are Electronic Communications Privacy Act, Communications Act of 1934, and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (U.S. Department of Justice, n.d.).Both of these acts center around counter terrorism here in the United States. They set rules and guidelines that agencies have to follow when they are looking into suspected terrorists. When looking at both acts there is information about how law enforcement is allowed to use different tools such as wiretapping when they are investigating individuals suspected of being terrorists. These laws are around now to help protect American citizens and will need to be looked at on a regular and basis to make sure they are still working to properly stop terrorism.
