Cis 599 week 7 project deliverable 4: cloud technology and

With the merger of your company with a multinational company, you have come to realize that progressive solutions are necessary to defray some of the associated information technology costs. Company executives believe that using cloud technology and virtualization is becoming the standard for companies that are engaged in Internet-based technologies. Your company is on the verge of global marketing and competition; therefore, your company needs to make smarter decisions and improve global business performance. Cloud technology and virtualization are believed to provide business insights without enormous infrastructure enhancements. The executive board is aware of the profound benefits of cloud technology and virtualization but is apprehensive because they are unfamiliar with the look and feel of the technology. The executive team is interested in your recommendations and eagerly waiting for your forward-thinking viewpoint.

English argumentative essay “high school level” valentines day

English Essay
ÿ
ÿvalentines day
ÿ
?If men within themselves would be governed by reason and not generally give up their understanding to a double tyranny of custom from without and blind affections within, they would discern better what it is to favor and uphold the tyrant of a nation.? ? John Milton, The Tenure of Kings and Magistrates
ÿ
Prompt:
ÿ
Choose an American Custom to question. Historicize this Custom, make an argument for why it should no longer be followed, and provide a practical and detailed revision for a replacement Custom.
ÿ
In a thesis driven, argumentative essay, argue why your chosen Custom should no longer be followed and how it should be altered to fit into today?s society. Using your own personal research, address this issue in an objective manner without using any personal narrative. As this is an argumentative essay, the goal of your writing should be to persuade your audience to agree with your position.
ÿ
Purpose:
ÿ
The purpose of this essay is to convey to your audience why Customs should not be blindly followed. Certain Customs are in effect because they are handed down from generation to generation but do not necessarily apply to today?s societal needs. It is your job to question these Customs and provide a logical argument as to why others should question these Customs as well.
ÿ
Considerations:
ÿ
Think about the factors that can influence this topic. Why was this Custom originally established? Why is it still in use today? Will you be able to present counter argument in an effective, non-biased manner? What is the societal, political, or economic impact of your topic?ÿ

Major Essay Project 3 Brainstorming Questions
ÿ
ÿ
Questioning the American Custom
ÿ
1.ÿÿÿÿ Is the Custom something that is prominent in America? It can be something that other countries also do, but it MUST be something done in America.
ÿ
2.ÿÿÿÿ Do most Americans participate/believe/follow this Custom?
ÿ
3.ÿÿÿÿ What is the American Custom in details?
ÿ
4.ÿÿÿÿ When was the American Custom created?ÿ
ÿ
5.ÿÿÿÿ Who established the American Custom?
ÿ
6.ÿÿÿÿ Where was the American Custom created? It does not need to have originated in America in order to be considered a modern American Custom. It just needs to currently be an active part of the American lifestyle.
ÿ
7.ÿÿÿÿ Why was the American Custom created?
ÿ
8.ÿÿÿÿ How has the American Custom changed from its original meaning to the way it is viewed/enacted in today?s society?ÿ
ÿ
9.ÿÿÿÿ Why should the American Custom no longer be followed?ÿ
ÿ
10.ÿ What is one reason that a specific group would argue to KEEP the American Custom as is? What can you use to specifically argue AGAINST this reason?
ÿ
11.ÿ What should be done instead of this traditional Custom? You can use preexisting ideas to help come up with a revision, but you need to show evidence of advanced critical thinking.
ÿ
12.ÿ What sources have you consulted?ÿ
ÿ
If you cannot find answers to these questions regarding a Custom you are considering writing on in your essay, you should consider searching for a new American Custom to discuss.
ÿ

I also attached a bibliography for the essay, if you want to use it but you don?t have to, also I need to argueÿ that American?s should no longer celebrate Valentines day

Play: women and honor : some notes on lying

Here is the prompt for your final paper:
ÿ
Many of the narratives we?ve read in the second half of our class have dealt with deception: lies, pretending, deceit, personas, etc. People lying to themselves, people lying to others, people pretending for others, people pretending for themselves. Pick two or three texts that deal with this theme and compare/contrast these forms of deception. How do the lies/pretending affect your perception of the person/characters? Do you feel sorry for them? Do you feel contempt for them? Do you sympathize with them? Can you understand why or how they lie/pretend? Or do you not understand them? Do you agree with the lies/deception? Do you think it?s necessary for them to lie/pretend? Is there such a thing as a ?good? lie? What are some connections you see among the texts you?ve picked?
ÿ
These questions are merely suggestions to guide you. The main thing here is that you analyze the texts and compare and/or contrast them. Here are some other guidelines:
ÿ

Your paper should be 3-5 pages, double-spaced, with 1? margins. 12 point font, Times New Roman.
You may use any texts that we?ve discussed since the midterm paper. That means everything from Lorraine Hansberry?s A Raisin in the Sun up to John Jeremiah Sullivan?s ?Violence of the Lambs.?
You may use ?I,? and I encourage you to use ?I? frequently throughout your paper!
Think of this as a more formal version of your weekly writing responses. I want the same level of analysis and comparisons you?ve been making so far, only in a slightly more formal version. That means you should have an introductory paragraph that tells me which texts you?re going to discuss and how you?re going to compare/contrast them. You should have separate body paragraphs for each text (it?s okay to have multiple paragraphs discussing a single text). And you should end with a short conclusion.
The most important thing here is DO NOT PLAGIARIZE. I don?t want you to use any outside sources, so don?t go to Google and look up other people?s ideas. I want YOUR ideas and I want them in YOUR voice.ÿ
Use proper MLA in-text citations from the Pur OWL site: http://owl.english.pur.edu/owl/resource/747/01/
Have a proper MLA Works Cited list at the end of your paper.

ÿ
ÿPlease email me your paper as an attachment (preferably as a .doc/.docx). And this is important: Because I don?t have a lot of time to grade your papers, please indicate in your email whether or not you want comments in the margins. I?ll include the final endnote comment for everyone, but if you don?t specifically say you want comments throughout, I won?t be giving you those. Finally, in terms of late papers: Anything from a minute late to 10 minutes late is a half-a-letter-grade deduction, with subsequent half-a-letter-grade deductions for each additional 10-minute increment it?s late.
ÿ
ÿ
ÿ
To give you a sense of how I grade, this is a general breakdown:
ÿ
A papers: Clear, well-organized, and detailed analysis of the texts. Strong use of quotations from the text to support opinions. Perfect MLA citations/Works Cited. Practically no typos.
ÿ
B papers: Fairly clear and well-organized analysis of the texts. Good detail, but could be moreÿ in-depth. Pretty good use of quotations from the text to support opinions. Mostly correct MLA citations/Works Cited. More than a few typos.
ÿ
C papers: Not super clear and not very well-organized analysis of the texts. Sparse details. Decent use of quotations from the text to support opinions. Mostly incorrect MLA citations/Works Cited. Several typos.
ÿ
D papers: Little-to-no clarity or structure or detail in your analysis. Weak use of quotations from the text to support opinions. Completely incorrect MLA citations/Works Cited. Mostly typos.
ÿ
F papers: You plagiarize. You don?t include any quotations from the text. You write about 50 Shades of Grey or The Hunger Games instead of the texts we?ve discussed in class.

Understanding the work of the it governance board

ÿ
In this final week of your internship, your rotation assignment takes you back to the Chief of Staff’s Office where you started out seven weeks ago.
Among other things, the Chief of Staff’s organization is responsible for organizing meetings and providing support to the various internal governance boards and executive committees that comprise the internal governance infrastructure. Last week, you had a brief introduction to the work of one of these boards — the IT Governance board — when you helped the Chief Financial Officer and CFO staff put together a briefing to inform the board’s members about a technology problem.ÿ
The work of the company’s governance boards and committees is extremely important since these groups plan, design, negotiate, implement and provide oversight for the processes, policies, procedures, and other mechanisms used to guide,ÿ monitor, control, and assess the operations of the company. Each board is comprised of executives who each represent their functional areas or a group of internal stakeholders. Usually, there is a chair position that rotates among the members. If you would like to learn more about corporate governance in general, Deloitte’s report Developing an effective governance operating model: A guide for financial services boards and management teams provides a brief but comprehensive overview (see https://www2.deloitte.com/content/dam/Deloitte/global/Documents/Financial-Services/dttl-fsi-US-FSI-Developinganeffectivegovernance-031913.pdf). You may also find this article What is a management system?, from the International Standards Organization, helpful as it explains what aÿmanagement systemÿis and why standards are needed to define repeatable steps that organizations can use to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of their management activities.
The IT Governance board operates under authority delegated by the corporate governance board. This board’s charter gives it responsibility for governance, risk management, and compliance management (GRC) for corporate IT processes, policies, and technologies. Members of the board each serve for a three year term. Of the 24 members, 8 have just begun their terms.
The IT Governance board focuses upon ensuring that the company achieves maximum value for each dollar spent on information technology capabilities. The board’s members must exercise diligence to ensure that the company complies with laws and regulations that apply to the use of Information Technology (including privacy and security requirements). The board is also charged with ensuring that the company complies with voluntary standards such as PCI-DSS since these have an impact on the company’s business operations (non compliance could result in the company not being permitted to receive payments via credit cards).
The next meeting of the IT Governance board will include a set of orientation briefings for the new members. Your assignment, as a support staffer, is to help prepare for this orientation meeting by developing a short (5-minute) briefing on one of the following IT management / IT security management frameworks, standards, and models.

COBIT
ITIL
ISO 27001 (ISMS Program Management)
NIST Cybersecurity Framework
NIST Security and Privacy Controls (NIST SP 800-53)
NIST Risk Management Framework (NIST SP 800-37)

See the weekly readings for information about your selected topic. Then, find additional sources on your own. (Each of these standards and frameworks is discussed in freely available materials on the Internet or in articles available through the university’s only library. There is no reason for you to pay for copies of any materials for this assignment.)
After you have researched your chosen framework, standard, or model, develop a written script for your briefing which you will deliver verbatim (as written). You should also prepare a one page handout for the board members to follow as you present your speech.

Discussion 2: securing accountability | EDSD 7075 – Sustaining and Supporting Effective Practices in Special Education | Walden University

ÿÿ
The push toward accountability seen throughout the P-12 educational settings is now evidenced within teacher preparation programs, ensuring that universities and colleges are adequately preparing future teachers for the task. Such pressures are even more rampant within the field of special education. Special education teachers are tasked with the responsibility of not only ensuring students, individual needs are being met with meaningful curriculum and instruction, but that they are making adequate progress toward their goals and objectives. Student learning rests at the core of accountability within educational systems (Fullan & Quinn, 2016). While internal accountability focuses on individuals? and groups? efforts at continuous improvement and success for all students, external accountability focuses on leaders? responsibility to be transparent with the public about the system?s ability to meet expectations and requirements. Both internal and external accountability are integral to the Coherence Framework, strengthening the vision and collaboration of the organization, thus establishing deepening of learning goals. For this Discussion, you will analyze both internal and external accountability and their role in whole systems change. As the special education leader, how will you secure accountability?
To Prepare:

Review Chapter 5, ?Securing Accountability,? in the Fullan and Quinn text, focusing on the aspects of internal and external accountability. How would you distinguish between internal and external ÿÿÿÿÿaccountability?
Reflect on the Norman and Sherwood (2015) article, considering how internal and external accountability measures have shaped teacher preparation programs.
Reflect on the plans you have created for the case scenario viewed in Modules 2 and 3 so far and reflect on how you would secure accountability if you were a leader of the staff in this scenario.

An explanation of how you would build internal accountability based on the case scenario. What steps would you recommend to ensure effective implementation of external accountability? Include an analysis of each concept and evidence from the case scenario, as well as other learning resources to support your rationale.

Pricing strategy and ethics: wet ?n wild case study

Wet ?n Wild is a chain of waterparks that are operated across Australia, the United States, and now China. The first waterpark in the chain was opened on the Gold Coast in Australia in 1984. Since that time they have expanded to eight locations, including Hawaii and Las Vegas.
In 2013, they opened a new water park in Sydney, Australia. Despite Sydney being a major international city with a population of over 5 million, it does not have a major theme or amusement park. Therefore, the new Wet ?n Wild facility was able to obtain a virtual monopoly in the Sydney area.
Obviously, Sydney is relatively well known for its famous beaches, including Bondi Beach. To counteract this indirect competitor, Wet ?n Wild located their new waterpark around one hour inland, away from the beaches. This location was still within large residential areas and easily accessible by road.
Because Sydney was lacking a major theme park, Wet ?n Wild was able to attract significant publicity and media attention prior to opening, particularly as the park was promoted as ?the largest waterpark in the world?. This was supported by significant advertising expenditure, which was primarily focused on selling season pass tickets.
The pricing structure for the new Wet ?n Wild waterpark was designed to sell season passes, rather than individual visits. For example, a season pass cost $120 as compared to a one-day visit pass of $70. This meant that there was a significant incentive to buy the season pass.
As a result, these season passes were enormously popular. The Christmas period in Australia is in the middle of summer, so these season passes became popular Christmas gifts as well.
As you can imagine, as consumers have paid for multiple visits ? many of them want to get great ?value for money?? which means as many visits as possible. As a consequence, the park become very crowded at times. On several occasions, in the middle of summer, the waterpark was at full capacity. That means that season pass holders, who had paid for their tickets, were unable to enter the park because it was full.
The other contributing factor to this overcrowding situation was that Wet ?n Wild was not open every day. Although their season ran from September to April (the warmer months in Australia), they were not open seven days a week ? sometimes only being open on weekends.
With a waterpark operating at full capacity on a hot day, you can imagine that the queues were quite long and uncomfortable. It was not uncommon to wait 1 « to 2 hours for a waterslide. This resulted in significant customer dissatisfaction that was expressed through social media, including Wet n? Wild?s own Facebook site.
Discussion Questions

As a new facility, Wet ?n Wild was keen to recoup their infrastructure investment as quickly as possible. Therefore, do you agree with their pricing strategy or would there be a more appropriate approach to pricing?
As the number of season passes sold was significant, do you think that is ethical of the company to keep promoting these passes or do you think that they have a responsibility to their shareholders to maximize profitability?
Given that season pass holders paid for a service that was not always available (that is, the park was full), do you think that they should be entitled to some form of refund or compensation? If so, how could this be implemented given thousands of people could have been affected.
As there were reasonable numbers of dissatisfied season pass holders, what do you think would be the long-term implications of Wet n? Wild?s objective to sell as many season passes as possible?

Changes in Eyes to Certain Medical Conditions and Ear Changes Caused by Aging Process
The eyes are our windows to the word. Different medical conditions can cause changes to the eyes. In this discussion I will write about Cataracts, Glaucoma, Diabetes Mellitus, and Chronic Hypertension.
Cataracts is when protein clumps up and clouds the lens, this reduces the light that reaches the retina. The easiest symptom to see objectively is clouded eyes.
