- Read the research article about giving birth on a birth seat (download PDF from link). This will be a tricky one for those who are not used to reading research, but do your best. Pay particular attention to the variables used (reference previous sub-section in the reading on “Scientific Thinking”).

- what is the hypothesis (the explanation of what will happen when the variables are changed).
- how the researchers are randomizing this study (you can find this in the main body of the paper, under a section about randomization).
