What is the main argument that the author is trying to make?
Your job in this assignment is to evaluate and reflect on the argument of a professional historian. In each week’s “Weekly Readings” folder, you will find one secondary source. You may choose any one of these secondary sources. I have tried to pick a variety of interesting topics and things that scholars have written recently.
Once you choose your reading, you need to approach it with a critical eye. Here are the two things you need to look for while you’re reading:
1. What is the main argument that the author is trying to make?
2. What are the specific sources that they’re using to support that argument?
