CASE STUDY
Tatiana an 85-year-old woman, who just had knee replacement surgery was in the recovery ward; Paula was in bed and requested for the bathroom. The nurse asked the nursing assistant to take the patient to the bathroom, the nursing assistant was assisted Paula without the frame out her bed.Paula lost her balance and fell on her back; The ward was trauma and orthopaedic, a physiotherapist was in the ward during the incident and assisted the nurse with the use of hoist back to the patient’s bed. A post-fall assessment was done.
